What makes architecture in Bali so serene and pretty? They got this regulation of buildings to implement Balinese or other Indonesian traditional architecture styles or elements, every building designs need to be approved by local authorities before they start the construction. They also have regulation which stated that no buildings higher than the highest palm trees nearby. Thats why you will never find high rises or skyscrapers in Bali. Something you rarely find in Asia.
Is it called tri hirtakarna or something? Im local student just studying ancient indonesia history (particularly java & bali)... I rarely find articles in bhs indo that study it more intensively (i couldnt undstn balinese either). 😑
kokom putueles yes it is a very complex architecture where you are considered part of the macro cosmos, so each cardinal dir3ction has a meaning, you can only place family temple in north and entrance at south, and you have this nine partition, etc etc. Balinese also don’t have the concept of room, the pavilion is the Balinese equivalent of western room, so on. It is so complex, so many symbolism.
You two are the most cutiest married couple travel utubers on the web!!! Love you videos, so amazing and keep going You put out such good content!!!!!!! God bless the both of you!!!!!
Gerald and Linda we enjoy watching your videos of your travels throughout the country of thailand bali and indonesia keep up the good work and congradulation on your engagement.
I'm a solo traveler/ not afraid to go places by myself, but Bali is one of those places that I feel like you need someone to go with. Anyone else feel that way? Everything looks super beautiful though and Bali is def still on my list!
Definitely not - in fact its one of the better places we've visited for people solo. Our latest accom doesnt show it, but wait till you see our Canggu accom, will be expecting a comment from you saying 'oh snap, this is what I'm looking for!'... shared villas are great for meeting people and making friends.
Your accommodation in Bali is on the next level! First Origin and now this - what a contrast to the modernism at Origin with the more traditional decor and architecture. As for the view and the pool :). Love the Sri Krishna theme (wife and I are followers of his philosophy). Great vlogs with such a feel good factor! Looking forward to the next one. Now, Origin or Dwaraka - that is the question!
We've definitely mixed up the accom options a lot - good to get a balance and show the different styles. Speaking of, Origin vs Dwaraka are both amazing and so different it would be impossible to pick a winner!
I have been to a few villa resorts in Bali, and stunning though they may be, they all look alike. The authentically local architecture is the same, the luxurious service too. Ditto for the impeccable service and hospitality. There is really nothing to differentiate them.
Great video guys! I was surprised to watch this video made it by you both and as I'm a follower 😍 I was there 2weeks ago with my 2 sisters we had the Villa Mhastara 2 bedrooms with private pool, we are in love with this amazing Indonisian old time style. We missed you a few days :( Great job guys and very professional. Keep going like that, my favorite you tubers 👍🙂 Hugs
Ohhh how much I love your videos and your instagram photos! (And your engagement video that made me cry). Can't wait to save up loads of money and buy a one way ticket to Asia next year!!! Your videos are so inspiring and so amazing! So well done!
Haha completely agree Jan! We were so at peace, part of the reason we never really went out and explored very far - luxury, peace and relaxing all in our lil house :)
Great video,You two Fiancee's are doing it right.I will be going to Bali in May staying in Seminyak for 10 nights. This video has me wanting to switch from Seminyak to Ubud.
If anything we think you should split your time 50/50 - 10 days just in Seminyak might be a little too much. Either way you'll love it no doubt, but maybe something to look into :)
Daneger and Stacey hello are you guys still in Bali? We will take your advice, plus the more I look into Ubud the more I want t stay there. It makes sense because we plan to visit Ubud regardless.Luckily the villa I booked in Seminyak there is free cancellation up to 2 weeks before the check-in date so I can cut the dates in half and I have already started looking at Ubud Villas. Need some good advice on transportation and motor scooters foreigners driver's license. Thank you
We've left now, vlogs are a little behind :) Scooters you can hire easily when you're there, transport is cheapest via GoJek (local app you can download now), then Grab/Uber, then transfer via your hotel or local shops on the street in Seminyak. We saw no street cops, but best to have an international driving permit if you plan to jump on ya scooter.
Bali has never been on my list of places to see.... always assumed there would be too many drunk Australians there. But you guys have made it go right up there!
You're not wrong about the drunk Aussies, but thats mostly Kuta... which you'll notice we havent and wont go to haha. The other spots we've shown you there's no hiding anything bad, they're all great places. After dark might be different, but generally really chill and amazing
Oh dear..... I’m going to Bail in March 2019 and I’m an Australian that doesn’t want to experience loud idiotic drunk Aussies! They way some behave makes the rest of us look like uncultured fools 😔 I’m hoping to experience yoga, traditional Balinese culture and experiences. Thankyou for this video, this place looks like heaven 😍💕
dude, you hold your GoPro so well and your videos are so well edited. Almost professional grade! Good job. I also went to Ubud and loved it. If you ever get a chance, it would be great to select/pick few top value villas for potential tourists like myself. thanks much and keep it up!
Appreciate that, thanks man!! Not a GoPro though of course, we recently upgraded check it out on Amazon if you're interested - geni.us/ourcamera We love comments like this though because even with a good camera these videos take us a lot of time and thought to get smooth and nice. Thanks so much for the good vibes
Happy to help Patty! If you do stay at Dwaraka, or book any accom, going via our link would be helpful for us and costs you the same. No pressure, but we'd appreciate it: geni.us/dwaraka
Wow. Beautiful place! Looked up the prices just to check. Insane! I hope they have you guys a discount for the semi-promo! Haha. Excited to see more Indonesian videos. My girlfriend and I will be moving from Hanoi to Kuala Lumpur in October, so Indonesia will be a quick, cheap flight away. Really looking forward to checking it all out for myself. 😃
Oh you definitely got to check out Bali then if you're gonna be so close! We havent been to Langkawi but understand there is a similar-ish vibe going on there as well. Bali is definitely amazing though with really decent accom pricing.
I'm so glad I found your guys' videos! Could you please share what month was this video taken? I asking because you mentioned in this video that it was raining for a few days. My bf and I are also planning a big trip to Ubud in Feb and we are a bit worried about the raining condition. Thank you!!
Hey Karina - from memory this was Feb. Don't worry though, Bali doesn't really rain for hours or days on end, rain and then clearing within a few hours is the norm
This place looks so cool, very nice drone shots to showcase it too! man all these vids of Bali are making me want to go for my next trip haha. Didn't manage to comment on your last two vids but you've been smashing it mate, did you manage to stay get an apartment style place for a month like you did in CM ?
Stoked to get the drone out again, miss getting Jerome up and playing around with the footage to try and pull it together into something interesting. Not too many apartment style setups in Bali but we spent a few weeks settled at a shared villa, SUPER cheap at only $360 US for the month. I filmed a video there, will be sharing that in a few weeks along with a cost of living vid. Accom can be cheaper than CM but as you would have seen, the day to day eating out costs are more.
Thank you! Yes, there are loads of amazing beach clubs in Bali - we likely won't share any this time because we've spent a lot of time at them before (check our very first videos, theyre not great but we show Potato Head).
Hey guys which part of Bali would you recommend a family of 3 toddler being 2.5 years old. First time going to bali start of Jan 2019. Would prefer having brekky included and having a pool. Close proximity to shops. Not intrested in night life. Thanks

Hi!! I booked the one bedroom pool villa but through photos it seems each villa is different .. May I ask the room name or number of the pool villa u stayed in ? Thank you
Hi Danaged & Stacey. Can I know what type of room that you choose in Dwaraka because I want to stay the same room like yours and I will travelling to Bali soon. Hope you reply my comment. Tq. Have a nice day.

Technically a building should not higher than 15 meters according to local building codex
That place is stunning! Who wouldn't want to stay there! That shower is huge!
what I really like in bali is... peoples there are so creatives. they are very good in carvings and paintings as well 😍😍😍
Agree - so talented!!
Balinese are living with arts in every aspect of their lives..their clothes, temple, dance, painting, architecture etc.
We arrived at Dwaraka Tuesday and they have put us in the exact same villa you had! This place is amazing.

Based on what you've explained its probably Ubud if you want some peace as well and shopping. Otherwise probably Canggu.
Canggu is getting more busy your best option would probably be ubud it's nice and relaxing.
Was the pool water too cold? I'm thinking of staying in July but I don't want the water to be cold.

This is a paid review! This place looks like nothing this video review. Terrible breakfast and coffee.
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. We filmed this video three years ago so it's no surprise things look different, but we had a great time. This was not a paid review either - you can't just decide you know that.
Suggestion: next time show your face less and please show things around more
