We are so thankful to our friend Dr. SciFi (Darren) for sharing his awesome projects and experiences as a maker. We hope you all find inspiration from Darren and it motivates you to get out there and build!!!
Hiya Brian! This was a fun video, seeing what others are up to, how they are overcoming build challenges to create the things they do. Its inspiring. Speaking of inspiring, YOU and a few other Tubers have inspired ME. I sent a message to you on Facebook to tell you about it back in June. I imagine you are quite busy and may not have gotten around to it. No worries I imagine you will when you get a chance and hope you might respond as the message might intrigue you. :) I'm not looking for any exposure, nothing like that, you'll understand when you read the message. I've already begun on the physical side of things while I write and its exciting for me and would just like the opportunity to share the project with you. So check your FB messages from June and the message you'll see my Initials (AJ). I do look forward eagerly for your reply. No pressure, lol, honestly not expecting it, but your videos ARE inspiring and I wanted to show you that myself because it means a Lot to me.
This was awesome. Love Darren's projects and the touching nod... More like bow to his wife. Very sweet. I would love to see more "geek of the week" segments.
R2-BQ is awesome!! And the trick with the painters tape on the barge can is getting borrowed too. One idea for the white panels for your walls. I see a lot of LED/LCD televisions in the trash where I live. They all use a series of diffusers and there's a solid white one in every TV I've ripped into. So far I'm 2 for 7 finding working TV's btw, lol.
I have the creativity and fabrication skills to do things like this. I just have so many interests that spin my mind every which way though. Then, there just never seems to be enough time in a day to work on everything. I have to give props for all you have done.
The Moisture Vaporator Margarita Machine, R2-BQ, Death Star Walls/Cabinets, and Wesley Treat's Gonk Droid Beer Cooler...man, my build wish list is getting long. AND I just fell down the Craig Drake "Patrick Nagelized" sci-fi artwork rabbit hole because of you. Thanks guys.
amazing. im going to make my new built in wardrobes with the light up imperial panels. and i have a few scrap bbq's one of which may become a R2-BQ also. great ideas. or better still combine them and make my own unique droid. also im after a BD1 model droid, i have seen them on ebay for about £60 as an unpainted 3d printed kit. so someday i may get one along with a bowcaster. as always Brian keep up the great work and thanks for telling him off about his tshirt. i was just thinking that before you said on the video hahaha! blooming trekky's ether way i followed drscifi on tiktok for some more videos and droid tiktoks :P always good fun to make them
The BD-1 puppet gave me an idea! I'm not quite sure how it'd work, but I was thinking about making one for my character's backback. I view my BE as kinda salty, so maybe it would "mimic" my hand motions with its head, since I tend to use hand motions when I talk.
Another nice, respectful presentation of another maker. This is the kind of respect inherent in our craft. I love tuning into to you, Ted, Bill and Brittany, or Svetlana and Benni to be a part of the camaraderie and fellowship. It reassures me that although I don’t know any makers locally, I’m still part of a larger community. That’s why I planted my flag here as clarendon.resident.jedi
Thank you Aaron. All those you mentioned absolutely give back to the community and share other makers work, and we certainly wanted to do that as well! Thanks for watching!
this is stellar. I'm going to copy this design and try a card-board style similar in order to turn my entire garage into a deathstar for haloween this year.
Thanks for sharing Darren's projects and experiences! That's a solid bit of inspiration! Also, YOUR SHIRT!!! Who do I have to beat in a game of sabbac to get my hands on one???!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed his project! As for the shirt, no need to win at Sabacc, we have you covered! www.thesmugglersroom.com/cargo-hold-main-page
Glad you liked his projects. Yeah, going to be tough for a while, but we'll get back to Cons eventually. In the mean time, plenty of projects to build!
So glad to hear that Chris. We know it's not our normal build episodes, but we love sharing other works by great people, and we plan on doing more of them! Thank you!
I want to do something like this and I will try my hardest no no no Yoda just told me "do or do not there is no try" well than i am making something out of nothing
@@TheSmugglersRoom From what I have seen and read, both behind the scenes and on screen "Solo..." and the disney trilogy were such unplanned, disorganized clusters that were neither needed, wanted nor consistent with what came before. The only good to come from disney is "Rogue One" and "Rebels". While I love "The Clone Wars" I don't count them, as they were around prior to the disney's purchase of Lucasfilm.
@@jediknightjairinaiki560 Not everything that came out of camp Disney was 100% what we all wanted, i will agree with you. That said, Solo was very enjoyable. We were surprised. I also agree with you that Rogue One was great, that has been an amazing addition to all the films. Rebels is also one of my favorites. Then of course there is The Mandalorian . . . pure gold in my opinion. So I guess I will say, at the end of the day, I am still glad there are films being made.

This is awesome! I made something similar to this! I really like the diffusion he used, I need to add those to mine haha! Shower curtain is genius!

The BD-1 looks like a chicken Wall-E.
No disrespect but I could taste the soy milk through the screen at 5:22. Cool doors though.
