That argument of giving my children a good future is why I made same mistake the guy made. After building 8 rooms duplex in my home town and about to finish 5 rooms duplex at Lagos for my family, comfortably paying for a 4 bedrooms apartment in nice environment at surulere and pushing a good jeep. Now I know I wasn't doing badly back home, now in US struggling. Bro the guy took a good decision by going back.
The West is a tough place. Years ago in the 90s I could not convince my sister to settle in the USA. There are so many comforts we take for granted back home. You will be alright bro
If you don't find a means of multiplying money, you will wake up one day to realise that the money you thought you had, has finished. Investment is key.
To earn more you are required to have a multiple diversified means of income", which is why Investment is an avenue of making more money once it's profitable.
Most failures and loss on Investment usually happens when you invest without proper guide and the analysis of the profit and risk percentage of the Investment.
it's safe to have an investment manager who has vast knowledge about Investment, to make you profits from your Investment on your behalf while you monitor the Investment growth.
My husband is Nigerian. 3 months before his immigration to USA was approved, he got sick. Doctors put him in lock down in a mental institution and kept him drugged for 5 days instead of dealing with the anxiety attack he was actuality suffering. When he was released back to me, I feared so badly for him, I sent him home to Ibadan. We built a nice apartment and I joined him 6 months after he left. He was so depressed over his assumed failure in USA, that he wouldn’t rise up to help us beyond what he THOUGHT he could accomplish. A year later, I came back to the USA to go back to work, and now I support him from afar. It’s a strain on our relationship as we reimmigrate him back to the USA, but I support his decision to want to be here, rather than there. We have no kids together, so the decisions are a bit easier to handle. I loved Nigeria and it’s people and would not hesitate to become a Niger Wife if my husband would chose to stay in his country first.
My husband fears to have me in Nigeria that I won't be comfortable and is more afraid I would be kidnapped which happens a lot over there. But like you I love Nigeria and would love to become part of Nigeria culture. But now since the covid requirements, I know I won't be going.
I came to Lagos as a house help. I struggled to send myself to school. struggled to enter the professional cadre, on my way to earning a second degree, happily married with a lovely kid and doing well at our own level. I have been to EU, US, UK, Asia on holidays. I am proud of what God has blessed me with in Nigeria. I thank God I never succeeded in relocating abroad! I can only go there for vacation. I value our culture more now after going abroad several times. It is not uhuru here, neither is it anywhere in the world.
God bless you, some people that have not left the shores of Nigeria will attack you and say they will rather live on streets of Europe than live in Nigeria
You did well Sis,life in abroad is no joke but people in Africa thought is a bed of roses not knowing that even in Los Angeles California,Washington DC New York city people are sleeping on d streets in d cars with no place to go.....its terrible everywhere.
Raising children in the west does not mean your children will be more successful than if they were raised in Nigeria. Most diasporan children are not as ambitious and courageous as children raised in Nigeria. A lot people in Nigeria delude themselves as if the western society is Eldorado. Is part of the colonial mental slavery that has destroyed the black world. How many diasporans can build a house in the UK or Canada or US without a mortgage?
Exactly!!! The "Eldorado" days,if at all there was such a period of time,is long gone. Folks back home are striving, pushing, hustling, bustling, thriving and hanging on the best way they can and have a lot to show for it. Merely relocating to another country and giving up all the fruits of your hard work and struggle doesn't guarantee a life of gold and honey,or picking up money in the streets,as folks would have you believe.
Hmm is it just me or I'm just realising that it is us women that seem to want to move abroad all this issues seem to start with the woman feeling like they need to move abroad for their children. Even in my own case it's because of my mother that we came to the UK, left to my father I will have gone to university in Nigeria because as far as my father was concerned there is nothing he is looking for abroad and this is someone that was already a British citizen. Over the years I have come to learn that abroad isn't always the best for your children. It may be easier but that doesn't necessarily equate to a better life.
The issue here is, Some of we Africans especially we women, we think the West is the best gor our children. The west is not the best you know. If you live in England or America and you have children is only God will help you. I knew a lot of family that have taken ghee children back to Aftica becduse of one reason ànd the other. They system in the West gave power to our children to do what they want and you as a parent you there not to talk your child will call the police on you saying you are abusing him/her and they will take your children away and that's the end. They are so many broken homes today all in the name of I want to come to the West for my children to have a better life and better education. Have you prated about it and ask God the West is the best place for you children to grow up? So many of them are in jail because of peer pressure, they joined gangs and started kill each other. Is that a good life? My sisters and brothers think wisely before coming with you vhidren to the west. People live abroad just by the grace of God nothing else.
The documentaries are there i watch poverty in uk and usa if you look for them you will them i have seen the homelessness programmes in both countries it depends which poverty you want to deal with the 3rd world poverty or 1st world poverty and by the way the US is the worst country i the world
Good evening Sir. Great discussion. Poverty is everywhere! All over the world! I've known people who came to the US from Africa and the Caribbean who have told me that they were shocked to learn of the poverty homelessness and suffering in the country when they landed. As you said.. this stuff is not shown in the media. I'm born & raised in the US. Thankfully I was not raised in and have never lived under impoverished conditions. But I've known people who were and have. For far too many- it's not the land of milk and honey that it's made out to be. Some migrate to the states and do very well. Others not. With all the craziness and racist bs that Black folks have always had working against us in America - I fully realize that I've just been blessed throughout my life. And I am truly thankful & grateful. And I try to be a blessing to others however and whenever I can.
The slavery mentality, moving abroad will not guarantee your kids a good future as a matter of fact it is better to raise your kids in Nigeria so they learn your culture and be ambitious, take it from someone that has lived in the US for 19 years
Thank you! The one that annoy me a lot is when they tell you that their kids are safer in America. I had to tell them that is only in America kids can go to school and they will be a mass shooting in the school. The same America that you are not really safe going to the mall because of crazy gun violence.
Very right ✅️, Abroad that we do have mass shooting in school several times , since I was born, there is nothing like mass shooting in any Nigeria school , up to University Level , Cultists may be fighting eachother but NOT mass shooting
When I went to school in Africa they encourage you to get better. 1 Month after coming to the US, I was being assaulted in school for being a foreigner. The idiots can wear $200 shoes but will never bring pencil or paper to class but hate that you outperformed them. Mental slavery on all sides of the spectrum is a vicious drug.
If you have money you can send your children to any school they want abroad You can also go on holiday to any country, it’s all about money and not the country.
Love your take brother. I am 55 and live in US with my family. I am in the process of moving back to Nigeria. My wife and I just completed our second house in Nigeria and our last youngest daughter is a junior in college. My body is here but my heart is in Lagos Nigeria. Abe
Wow, this sounds partly like my story. I am 55 too. I am trying to get out of the US back to Nigeria. I am so tired. The only difference is I didn't build a house yet 😂
So why is your body still here? If your heart, as you claim, is in Nigeria, then keeping on walking. Noone is holding you back. You can have a million houses in Africa and means nothing if you still live in America. This is a joke.
Mr. Phrankleeen, may you live long and prosper. I weep in my heart everyday about the future of Nigerian and Africa at large. May are lost already. Things are hard back home, but we are losing it at the speed of light. Having been in the US for about 2 years, I find it crazy that one sell off everything to come work a slow but surely killing job. Its pain here! Its stressful! Its depressing...no matter how we want to pretend. A society in which you can become homeless at any slightest challenge! It scares me. You now see Nigerians who proudly tell you "We are NEVER going back". Are these people insane? Our generations will be lost in the midst of no where. Am scared and bitter. What happened to our senses as Africans?
Thank you very much for your video.. My husband want to relocate to Nigeria and I support him.. I am from Congo and I pray every day for us to go back to Nigeria.. We are working on it by the grace of GOD... More grace to you Sir...
You gat it mate. I will be much more celebrated in Nigeria . I know my wife is scared but I am returning to Nigeria regardless of what breaks during the process.
Honestly phranklin this guy was very lucky and smart that he made the decision to go back to Nigeria. I wish I had a man like him who had a foresight ,I and my 4 kids wouldn't have suffered the way we did. I have been in Nigeria since September 2020 to start a new life from scratch and I am doing well. Africa is gold mine, do you that one can make a good living from running a maggots farm from black soldier flies. There are huge opportunities in Nigeria unless you want to live your life packed with lies. By the way I lived in London for over 30 years and I came back with nothing after all the hard work. I will give myself 5 years to get back on the track again. Some people advised me to wait until when Nigeria is better. My response was that Nigeria had problems before I was born. I'm working hard to save some money to visit my children in London soon.
Mr Phrankleen you have said it all.I have lived in the UK for 18yrs now and I feel you bro.Nigerians be wise we can do alot better in Nigeria. Nigeria is big market for good businesses to excel.
The problem is always when the head in a family is not one. Phrases like “both parties” already indicates division. God ordained HEADSHIP and the head should be allowed to LEAD the home. Thanks for narrating this story brother.
For those who choose to grow old in their respective western jurisdictions, that is your choice however do not throw negativity towards the choice others make to return to Africa because you fear the unknown, lack funds to make the move yourself and choose to make judgements through unfounded claims to put fear into others. To those who desire to return, that 10%, may the Universe grant you all that will make the move possible so that you and I can begin to create the change we need.
My advice to the couple, as a compromise, is for the wife to return to her husband with the children in Nigeria as soon the children get their citizenship.
I had to keep scrolling to see if someone would suggest this. This way it would be a win-win for them both. Canada gives citizenship to landed PRs between 3-4years after landing.
What is the point of getting Citizenship only to return to Africa? For those people who do not live outside Africa, many just have no idea what Citizenship is all about. Get citizenship and go to Nigeria/ What for?
@@jamesSmith-kz3ln access in and out of that country at will. Visa-free Access to several other countries when they choose to go on vacations. Access to better healthcare in case of any medical emergency/chronic disease. Their kids get to pay domestic fees if they ever choose to study in that country. Amongst several other perks. I’m not saying that their family should be divided. But it won’t be a bad idea to get citizenship. I’m trying to get your point as I’ve never lived abroad. How does citizenship work?
Wow , what a story to go from being self sufficient to living in a foreign country with new financial stress, the loss of status , then to be racial profiled in this troubling climate in the West, the universe was giving that gentleman several signs to leave Canada. The wife appears bitter and likely to pass on to the children that they were abandoned by their father, hopefully the wife will change her mind. To be a single mother is difficult despite the image that it can be done, but not without emotional risk to the children.
Phrankleen. Where do women find these nice men? This man is a rare gem indeed. Let her meet some "abroad" guy when she "moves on ". She'll undergo "character development" and run right back to her hubby at home, in tears and ready to not just own the farm, but work on the farm....
Love your mindset! I have no other words to add. You get it.💯👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾That quality of living is very achievable for anyone with your mindset. Only few people think this way sadly. Nigeria is a great place to thrive in. No place like home. Where in the world is there no challenge? Are there no security issues everywhere in the world? Don’t people get killed all over the world? Indeed, there is propaganda attached to these things. Nigeria is great! People should speak life into the country and they will see great things happen to them.
The best thing this man did was to listen to his older brother and not sell his house, farm and business share. If he sold all that the wife would just use it up or it would be in a family joint account where he won't be able to withdraw. He allowed himself to have the freedom to start again.
Thank God, he did not sell all he labored for in Nigeria. Apart from some pockets of insecurity, Nigeria is fine. What we need are visionary leaders that can transform the country. Phrankleen’s message is spot on.
Thanks for this Phrankleen the first time I went to Paris I was surprised we visited the Eiffel Tower and there was a public placard and notice that beware of bag snatchers. And then we went around and was shocked to see people selling bottled water in the street and then smoked corns and like you said we saw some mentally challenged people working about I can’t fathom it. We went to KFC to buy food and we placed our orders and the guy who took our orders was like you people don’t speak French you can’t do anything if you don’t speak French and he asked when did we arrived from Africa and was advising my husband to learn French quickly so he can get a job and proudly he said now he has been promoted to taking orders from working in the kitchen my husband was like what are you talking about that he brought his family on holiday that we came from Ireland the guy couldn’t talk I was shocked with what I saw families sleeping on the street. I can’t wait to get back home. That was when I knew the reason why staff in the airport are so rude to blacks since then I have not travel to Nigeria through Paris.
Thank you Franklyn you are hitting the nail on the head, the lady that ignored her husband’s advice and stayed in Canada is probably influenced externally.
It’s hard to form a judgement without hearing the wife’s side of the story and why she was so hell bent on staying in Canada I live in the Uk it’s cold enough here so I could never live in Canada because of the Cold and loneliness I also note that despite all the negative publicity there are.good business opportunities in Nigeria but many want to get non existent office jobs My only concern about Nigeria is security in some parts of Nigeria
Hmmm, women and this abroad thing as security for the children. We women must think again: when you are doing great back home ; what do you need Canada for? Black man mentality.
@@marymagdalinmusa2649 Please all of African women use your brain before presenting this illusion of security as an excuse. How will you feel safer in a country you do not know than a place you understand? From my own experience I felt safer in Africa than I ever did in the US where every racist animal is openly or subtly looking to undermine you. If you are not escaping war or immediate threat, leave this abroad alone.
Phrankleen this Jamaica 🇯🇲 grandmother would like to tell my people in the diaspora to stay where you are. The days of going to the west to gain riches are over. The riches are right there where you are.
Phrankleen some of our people back home will not believe a word we say about the struggles in the west. A 41 year old man in Ghana, for me he is doing FAR BETTER THAN the average black person living in the UK. He has build his own house in Accra, have a shop, drives a Benz car and he STILL want to come and STAY in the west because he had OVERSTAY in Afrika. He doesn't even want to have or marry any woman in his life because that will distract his aim and plan to travel to the west. He has a master degree in Human resources. I have tried everything to convince him that even if he comes to the west via education, he will regret leaving behind all that he has achieved ALREADY. I am going to introduce him to your page and hopefully he can learn a thing or two. Thanks for always inspiring people like me.
I am not Nigerian but have a lot of friends and went to university with a lot of Nigerian , and I mean women and they are thriving in Nigerian. It’s quite sad really , guys we need to stop abandoning our fathers ways, a woman oughts to submit to her husband. I am African at heart truly and Nigerian to the core, forget about thriving Oga, a woman has to stand by their man through think and thin. Together u will overcome. It’s a marriage which would never have survived honestly. I grew up in the UK but African would only be better if we do something about it. Bro u did well by going back. Unless ur programs are in the west those outside don’t guarantee u a job unless it’s in the health sector where u would be enslaved ie long hours no days off.
When you even try to explain to Nigerians how difficult life is here you end up becoming an enemy I pray everyone gets the travel documents, come here and see how good or bad it is As for me I'm almost on my way back home.
Mr. Phrankeen, you have said it all. God bless you! The wife will either, stay in that condition because she wouldn´t be mocked due to her stubborness or, she goes back and throws her EGO away to focus on the beautiful life she has which is her family. As for the guy, he made a very smart move by going back due to that, not everybody is meant to go ABROAD.
No place like home, I'm on my way back to Nigeria, life abroad is too stressful, no time to rest, no time for the kids, work, work ,work ,bills, bills, bills, no good sleep, money is good, but I value peace of mind.
Money is good for what if you have no peace. All we do is work, one weekend of to attend that once in awhile party or Ajo,then 12,14,16hrs shift to pay these rents. That money end up no worth it because we are too stressed to enjoy life.
The problems people have in Nigeria is believing that Europe and overseas is where life is, whereas they go to Europe to become nonentities like begging to apply for slavery. Some people may say that the story is one sided, but believe me, the greener pasture we are looking for is the Nigeria we left behind. If I had the opportunity such a woman had, having a house, a business, I will put my car on reverse gear and come home. She would've join her husband to grow their business and the children can as well go to school abroad. Now the family who are obsessed with their daughter is in canada may not know what their daughter is suffering and will suffer bringing up those kids alone. I was a registered nurse/ midwife in Nigeria, but when I got to Europe, I started a job as a housemaid and people at home were waiting for money from me thinking i am working as a nurse. Today, I and my husband are fasting and praying to be able to go back home and have a peaceful life. But people at home will sell all they have and come abroad to enslave their destiny. The man is the head of the home and should be respected and God will not be happy for such situation all because of canada.
Thank you so much my dear brother for this piece. Some Nigerians have problems in their thinking faculty, all they believe is that western world is the solution.
@@engr.onyiixofficial2468 Sorry dear for this late reply. I was actually in Italy at first, where English isn't spoken and it was difficult to be in the healthcare system and my family way back home couldn't understand why I couldn't just move to the UK. Moreover, 1997
In 1997/98, the internet and mobile phones weren't as it is now all over the world and in Nigeria. Informations were scare unlike now, and my family that relocated to Italy didn't want to move to the UK to start all over and weren't also sure they will secure a stay. So all I could do was to work as a domestic servant, and some European countries with their laws may not employ immigrate into their health sector until you are a citizen. For example, you have to regularly live and work in italy for ten years before you can apply for citizenship, and you wait for about three years to process all documents. People way back home are not ready to listen to process and stories. If I had travelled with a visiting visa, it would've been worse. In any case there's no better place to live than a place where the colour of your skin will not make you to be relegated. Thank you so much for asking.
It's more uncertain in Africa than it is in the West and it is not easy anywhere in this world. Africa, however, is the last place I would want to return to. I remember the first time I returned to Ghana after living in Canada for 15 years, and how things had not improved in any way. I was in a bank with my wife to cash traveller's check in Accra. The bank was crowded, very warm, cashiers stood by having conversations with each other while customers waited in long lines. I just had to shake my head about how backward Ghana still is and how such a simple service would have taken minutes in Canada. Now why in heave's name would I want to gamble the comforts I have here for such inconvenience? No chance in hell.
That's one thing I would never do. I'm struggling and approaching that age where I'm ready to settle down. I'm finishing school and getting ready to buy my first home here in the US. But I also want to leave the US for Europe or maybe back to Nigeria. I don't want to raise a family in the US for sure so I'd rather do it somewhere like the UK or in Nigeria, while still employed with an American company and working remotely. We go see sha.
Let the husband wait until he gets citizenship and then let him go back to Nigeria finally. He definitely needs to accommodate the thinking of his wife. There is nothing guaranteed anywhere in the world. By getting Canada citizenship, the whole family will get the best of both world. Franklin, Nigeria is so nice be. But when you encounter any of the Nigerian catastrophe 1.Medical issue or 2. Govt regulation Issue with your business....ohhhh my God you'll feel like running away from the surface of the earth.
But others are living and surviving it. And what's the guarantee they will get the legal residency let alone citizenship?. Do you even understand the requirements for Canadian citizenship? Please!
@@jamesSmith-kz3ln I am only trying to say, why should I as a citizen of my county be ‘surviving’ instead of enjoying the basics of life on a daily basis.
As someone from the diaspora who grew up in America(even currently living in the upper middle class) I'm here to let all of you who don't understand, that there's a reason why a good number of us do NOT want to live in the west. The system here is not designed for us. And yes, you can be successful here but you will always have some form of opposition just because of your ethnic background . If you think this isn't true, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you speak to those who have been here for some time and they'll tell you the same from their own personal experience to some degree. What this brother had going on in Nigeria was absolutely a reason to stay there and as someone who lives in America, with a well paying job and living comfortably, I'll tell you that I am in agreement with him wanting to stay with what he built IN AFRICA as well.... this is a great topic. Thank you for discussing it. So many people look up to the west and as someone who knows this part of the world very well, I can tell you first hand that it's not all it's hyped up to be.
💯 exactly, no matter what we will never belong. Forcefully enslaved Africans are still pleading for acceptance even after 500+ years 😩 That was my wakeup call. It's so important to go back home and build our country. Let the men lead and women provide support to their men. Build our defense, economy, and systems.
Well it depends on the situation my friend. As someone who unmarried and recently came to America from Ghana to pursue my graduate studies in petroleum engineering. I just graduated and have decent job after struggling to find a decent job from my own country. However, I will not recommend coming here if you are married with children because the burden and the responsibility is unreasonable. One side note, to be honest alot of people are struggling here in America. I have visited major big cities like the south side of Chicago where I thought I was in a busiest market in Tudu,Accra, Ghana.
@@zongonative7397 I'm happy that you were able to make out well for yourself, I love seeing that story. I also was once in the petroleum industry, working with API on transmission lines, so I'm in full understanding of how well that industry treats people. And of course, brother ,I'm in full agreement with you, America is a place that is hard for MANY people of ALL backgrounds and you have to be very focused and determined to make it here. I was just letting people know that this place is not all the glitz and glamour that it's hyped up to be. America is a beautiful country, but the systems that are in place here are very oppressive for its citizens, as you know by now, the majority of people(even those who have money) are in debt, my father calls it"The American way".....even the credit system here is based on who you're paying money back to. But, brother, I'm very happy to know that you made it.... I just wanted those who don't know, what people get themselves into when living here🙏🏽
@@DjehutiTV I know the debt system and I agree with you. By the way I saw alot homeless white people in Springfield, MO and I was shocked.Too many struggles in the land of milk and honey. But hey, I agree with 1000% percent. More win to you brother.
I haven't watched your videos in a while. I have to say what I have watched have given me a much better insight of Africa. By your comments and the posting of others from the continent.
Another Great show. There is nothing special about leaving your business and coming to the west to end up doing a security job/ guard. It's one of the worst job in the diaspora. Standing long hours and you see them talking themselves because it's so boring and if not careful will start to affect someone psychologically. It has even come to the stage security guards help stack shelves now too in supermarkets and other shops due to boredom. I know it's job but leaving a business back home and end up doing security in the West not worth it. Avoid
Bro, your talk is kinda addictive. I discovered your channel last night and I've been watching since. I beg make you no make me forget say I get plenty duty for house oooh. Had I had what that guy had in Ogun State , I would have never left Lagos to Paris. After my second university degree (business management) , I tried to start a business in Nigeria. Alas I couldn't raise any money, my family din't have any. When I had opportunity for a visa to France, I didn't hesitate. But here, whatever certificates you got out of Western Europe are overlooked. My African university degrees (I've got two) are not acknowledged. I had to pick pick grapes to pay the bills, worked security, washed dishes at restaurants, and cooked while enrolling again here in yet another university, since only a certificate from here can get you a decent job. Everything the man in your story said about Canada can be applied to France: the cold, the loneliness, the lack of human warmth and social life. I live in Paris, but I can easily go a couple of years and more without seeing face to face with friends living in the same city: busy schedules that do not align, stress, stress, stress. Life in France is not 'en rose' at all.
I live in Washington State, the homelessness is off the chain here. I live in Olympia, WA, driving on I5, you would see camps set up in the trees. Homeless people living on the streets down town Seattle, Tacoma and so many other cities. It's a disgrace.
Of course there is no perfect country devoid of any problems at all. That is silly. Some of us have chosen to remain in the West , for whatever reasons they may have. The decision on where to reside is a personal and does not indicate otherwise one way or the other. I prefer my life in Canada and do not apologize for it. This discussion is getting ridiculous with outrageous statements.
@Reee!Shay Jackson Now this is about American politics? For all the condemnation, why in heaven's name havent you left to Africa a long time ago. It's easier living in the west and praising Africa from afar in the comforts the West has made it possible for you. Pure hypocrisy!
I think you are looking at the issues you mentioned from a very simplistic way. Nobody guarantees anything in any country and homelessness, poverty etc are everywhere in this world. Nobody claimed the West is paradise and problem free. Note, however, that homelessness results mostly from addictions, and mental health issues. In Canada, there are lots of services available to help people like hat but the degree of their issues are sometimes such that the assistance means nothing. A person has to understand the workings of the mind and what untreated addictions and mental health implies. This has nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with the country they reside in. Please refrain from drawing false conclusions about things you are attempting to explain by citing simple, yet unsubstantiated evidence.
Me and my husband built an empire when he said am ready am ready when god said so woman listen to your husband thing will not go rong we are in America thing is hard we are going back to out county soon good luck to that man
$100k/ year income in the West comes with six figure responsibilities. Federal tax 27%. State tax 13%. Social security, etc. Then you live off of your net income. Every purchase comes with taxes. A month rent in Central district will get you annual rent in a nice neighborhood in Nigeria. I blame calculators and exchange rate. We are so poor among Nigerians that they equate income with wealth. All our discussions is about how much someone earns without the knowledge of the person's lifestyle and savings.
@@ONpopularTopics What you think your living standard is better because you are financing everything you use to live--mortgages, car notes, etc? Can you conveniently take 1 month off without touching your credit card? You have an illusion of wealth, that's all. A man who makes six figures and plays God to his people in Nigeria is not better than a man on minimum wage because at the end of the month what matters is what they both have left. Everything in the West is tied to your job. Lose your job and your life takes a downward spiral. Wanna be rich? Look towards being an employer.
State tax of 13% is only in 1 out of 54 states in America Y'all are so funny for trying to make America look so bad The amount of opportunities and simply the quality of life there if you have money is insane Especially online businesses, it's the best choice Even if you don't go to USA There's Canada, Netherlands, south Africa So I don't know why you're so fixated on Los Angeles state tax and living above your means
Money is easy to make in Nigeria, if you have the starting capital. Banks only give loans if you have collateral. It's hard to make money abroad. Bills gobble most of it up. Unless you're fortunate to be working in a high-paying job, one job is generally not enough. You'd work your fingers to the bone. De facto slavery. Going abroad is worthwhile if you had nothing back home. But if you're doing great in Nigeria, don't leave Nigeria. For the kids, you can send them abroad for their tertiary education. Let's call a spade a spade. Nollywood is the #1 culprit in brainwashing our people regarding going abroad. Time to start holding their feet to the fire.
@@Phrankleen13 I just arrived in the USA to join my wife as a graduate in finance and accounting. I own a company that I started about a year ago and it make roughy $2500-$3200 per month. I am here for three months now and my business back home is running steadily with structured that makes it very hard for any issues. I am here but my heart is in Africa. I go to sleep here in peace knowing that I have strong defense back home and I track my progress here for the next 3yrs while I eagerly just want my citizenship. There is so much advantage in African, no expensive things, no serious bills, good food and seeing people around you.
The wife's brain has been programmed to live in Canada. Unfortunately, Nothing will change her reasoning. I crave everyday to set up self back in Nigeria and return someday soon. No matter how successful you are in the west, it doesn't compare to life back home
@Emu Ohwobete Success is something that you have to define for yourself. I can't do it for you. From your question it looks like you define it in monetary terms. It could mean a sense of accomplishment and career progression. Its not a one-size fits all approach. Its entirely up to you
Although I do agree with you are saying but I also think we as black people whether born African or Caribbean.. We need to work together when immigrating to the Canada , United States , UK .. the Diàspora needs to work TOGETHER that is one of our problems!! We do not help one another the way we should. Let us look at housing I feel the more established ones who are already sett should invest in housing that can assist for at least one year for families to get on their feet because as a born Canadian to Caribbean parents I know that there are good jobs that can make one wealthy our problem in we do not look out for our own in the way we should. Caribbeans & Africans .. UNITE we are powerful more than you ever know. 🙏🏽
Decisions like that are only good for the wife and children not necessarily together with the main man. The husband can always travel to visit them and fall back to his business to support his family abroad till they r good. I relocated to the US with my family and I will say I made same gatdem mistake.
I'll congratulate the man in this story on finally getting to know his wife. Many people in Nigeria get married for financial reasons & social gratification among other selfish reasons. She likely falls in this category. What's wrong with making your money comfortably in Nigeria, then going holidaying wherever you want?
This is Jaw-Dropping. The height of insanity. Truly this lady is missguided. I am in my eary 50's and would not have traded what she had back home for anything in the west. You cannot and should not kick a brother who is trying. He wasn't trying, he had made it. Come on now. The argument of giving children a better life does not hold at all. They already had one. Get real. The lady is in love with the idea of living in the west. Further more the money that his wife is refusing to take from him for the welfare of their children, he should open trust funds for his children and put the away. That alone should give him peace of mind and those children should not be denied contact with their father. Let them come to Nigeria for holidays and show them what you are doing there. Amazing Stuff.
That is just you and making such a generalization without being in her shoes is irresponsible.. Let people be, let them go through life the way they would like and deal with the consequences.
Upon the all the Blessings GOD Has Bless the Family In Nigeria is not still enough for the wife because his wife thought that grass is greener in the other side. GOD has Bless them and she want her husband to go and mark time in Canada in the cold weather? She must be crazy.
I love the program. You are one hundred percent correct. Let us build assets back home too. Our people back home have to be honest and help. We work too much to throw it all away . Let us put plan and save for our return. Keep up the good work.
It's strange that the wife would prefer to leave all that behind, relocate to Canada and start afresh to seek the success they already had whilst back home. Is she trying to make it look like success in Canada is more commendable, admirable or preferable to the exact same outcome in Nigeria? She's chasing fool's gold. Her husband is already made and financially well off. No need to go start from scratch in a foreign nation just to have something to brag about. How many Canadians would do the same and move to Nigeria just to start afresh, from the bottom, after achieving much success in all aspects in their native land? Africans really do have a long way to go. Very, very long!!
Very important point. Imagine this new thing “for the future of the children” as the reason people are ploughing hard earn monies not into their communities in Nigeria but in mediocre schools in Canada and to the Canadian govt for a student visa. And you are so right. If many of us have a livable house in Nigeria, it is over for abroad. Many are trying to build the house to return to…
Hi just started watching your Chanel am from Zimbabwe. I came to England not because I was suffering but I was curious then met my hubby married and with kids. I have a great job which pays very well but I long to go home. Have good savings and planning to buy a farm and also a house. I miss the atmosphere and the sense of belonging hate the London weather and it will never be home. My hubby is Jamaican and loves Zimbabwe he has been twice. So I think the wife should have just spent 6 months abroad if she was curious. Being abroad is over rated.
I am trying to make same mistake now by bringing my family up here in UK. Since I said that, it got to my wife's head, she is now tiger, I can't even talk to my kids in WhatsApp. She block me in WhatsApp, force me to call my kids through direct call from UK to Nigeria. From the look of things I will cancel them coming to UK. I have all it takes to be comfortable in Nigeria, I have my mansion in the village, and in Lagos, my business going well. I guess from her attitude now, if they come to UK I will loose my kids and I can't bear it. because I love my kids so much
The brother and friends are really good people and I thank God they didn’t let the man down.He is back to what he loves and happy, though certainly troubled by how the kids will be raised under his rebellious wife.
If I were in the women position I will have loved to stay in Nigeria but will be traveling to different countries for holidays or get what I can be buying and sell in Nigeria then live there permanently I have not been abroad and will love to go one day but I have alots of family and friends who are there and all the do is work work work they don't even have time for them selves and that keeps going until they are back home to Nigeria they fine rest. And in there own case the husband made the best decision and the fact that she refused to follow him she never liked him the name abroad is more important to her than her marriage
This past Februry 27th makes it my 34th year in America because I got stranded in the USA and I just started building my first house/ buisness structure in Nigeria
I swear. Bro do you know how many single mothers here in Canada have approached me for sex? They can't cope with the stress of work and taxes. Imagine getting a minimum wage job that's 463 a week with how many children??? It becomes tough and they start to do prostitution.
@@ochejagabriel2620 This is such a funny post. single mothers asking for sex cos of financial needs? Of course a person will only make minimum wage you have no marketable skills or education and life may not be as simple. It is only logical. What would anyone expect?
You guys should understand this guy call Franklin he is not saying abroad or Nigeria is not good he is saying use the opportunity You have in abroad currency power to excel in Nigeria.
Makes sense but this is why some Nigerians want to come to the UK. They see UK people and say “it’s easy for you to talk because you are in the UK”. I go home regularly and my family and circle live well and are upper class (However people are struggling). But it’s dangerous to think this is the reality for the majority of Nigerians who don’t have the opportunity to get money in higher currency to get a leg up. But yes I believe in building up Nigeria and we have a longggggg way to go.
You see and reason well. God bless you.i don't know the type of family she comes from. Young men becareul of d family you marry into. They did not help and will probably never will. Wrong STEP baby.
Wao! very interesting Bro. To be honest if not because of Security challenges we have in Nigeria ( Fulanis ), a lot would have relocate back to Nigeria, It's hard to know what life is in West except you experience it, I pray the next president of Nigeria will take security issues as a priority.
I have 2 separate properties in lagos of 6 apartments flats and a 4 apartments flat....I have additional 25m naira cash savings...my wide is suggesting relocating abroad and it upsets me to even think of it.....I'm thinking of going into Goat farming...this abroad thing is bringing conflict in the home
This is almost my story .. have a good job and a thriving side job that gives me more than my bank job . Have a good house of my own but wife wants us to go to the UK for “ the sake of the kids” . This has really helped me put both feet down !! I ain’t leaving all these for an illusion. Thanks but No thanks
Thank you Bro phrankleen, women do want to move abroad because of their so called edge over men, especially moving to the HEADQUARTER OF DIVORCE (UNITED KINGDOM).
Went to visit someone in his house in the UK, and I couldn't breathe. The apartment is very small and dirty. While I was in Nigeria, never seen that level of poverty .

This is very interesting.first am not a Nigerian. But this is what am seeing also knowing people rather to go to America and Canada also England.they believe the grass is greener on the other side. The majority of the people in the US, including immigrants and non immigrants don't make nearl 100k a year. A married couple may make that together, 2 people make that together when they file taxes as married filing jointly.
In my opinion, relocation may be a good option if you do not have foundations here, spend some time out, make some money, have kids, passports etc then come back home. On the other hand, someone with a thriving business and a property to their name should have no business with relocation, having vacations and healthcare checks abroad is cool. Nigeria has challenges, I agree, but leaving all that to go and start working casual jobs, facing extreme weather conditions and racism is a NO!!
Everything I have in Nigeria are all paid for, I don't have any debt in record and I'll just wake up one morning and move to a foreign land to start all over. If you have a good business in Nigeria you will make real money without any trouble.

Nigga got a whole wife over there
I came to Lagos as a house help.
You are right
You have said it all
Raising children in the west does not mean your children will be more successful than if they were raised in Nigeria. Most diasporan children are not as ambitious and courageous as children raised in Nigeria. A lot people in Nigeria delude themselves as if the western society is Eldorado. Is part of the colonial mental slavery that has destroyed the black world. How many diasporans can build a house in the UK or Canada or US without a mortgage?
on point.I love your comment @damilohun Emola
Hmmmm....Pure Truth.
facts!
Exactly
Thank God for his older brother and good friends. She will live to regret her stubbornness and stupidity. It’s the kids I really feel sorry for.
Word 💯. I think my kids will do better in Nigeria compared to here , do parents really have enough time with kids in diaspora 😒
I never did , I cried for almost 19 years crying to my ex husband to bring me back..
Raise kids in Africa, encourage critical thinking..... if they want to taste and feel the west for varsity... that is also okay
The slavery mentality, moving abroad will not guarantee your kids a good future as a matter of fact it is better to raise your kids in Nigeria so they learn your culture and be ambitious, take it from someone that has lived in the US for 19 years
Sadly most people have the ear drums of a he-goat
Oya now make una come back...
If you have money you can send your children to any school they want abroad
You can also go on holiday to any country, it’s all about money and not the country.
Love your take brother. I am 55 and live in US with my family. I am in the process of moving back to Nigeria. My wife and I just completed our second house in Nigeria and our last youngest daughter is a junior in college. My body is here but my heart is in Lagos Nigeria.

Absolutely well said 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😎

He won't take her back. Once she's been to the streets, the streets is where she belong...
Wise words

Thank God, he did not sell all he labored for in Nigeria. Apart from some pockets of insecurity, Nigeria is fine. What we need are visionary leaders that can transform the country. Phrankleen’s message is spot on.
What about the security aspect. Nigeria isn't save bro
We've been clamouring for these visionary leaders for the past 50 years and so far it's not looking like it's going to happen any time soon.

Also thinking about that too, asking God 🙏 for divine direction cause I'm ready
I wanna visit Nigeria always wanted too
Damn! We learn and relearn. I always thought relocation was the in thing but it seems I was wrong. Thank you for this video.
Me too oo. This chanel has been an eye opener
That's exactly what I'm facing right now guy
@@kayodethomas1694 it's unbelievable 🙄🙄
Why didnt you practice your nursing in the UK why house help job?
To leave Certainty for uncertainty is the worse mistake you can make. Is not that easy in the abroad as many believe.
Thanks and God bless you for always saying the better truth
You’re welcome
That's one thing I would never do. I'm struggling and approaching that age where I'm ready to settle down. I'm finishing school and getting ready to buy my first home here in the US. But I also want to leave the US for Europe or maybe back to Nigeria. I don't want to raise a family in the US for sure so I'd rather do it somewhere like the UK or in Nigeria, while still employed with an American company and working remotely. We go see sha.
Good plan 👍
Why do you prefer to raise your kids in UK/EU rather than USA?
You want to buy a land in Lagos or buy a house we can connect
Please!

Franklin you’re very correct , life in d western world is just by d grace of God, we pray that grace locate us all thru our stay .
I live in Washington State, the homelessness is off the chain here. I live in Olympia, WA, driving on I5, you would see camps set up in the trees. Homeless people living on the streets down town Seattle, Tacoma and so many other cities. It's a disgrace.
Try homelessness in DC,and more and more I c few Africanson the streets. Its disheartening.

@@cmichael2967 I believe he’s saying he’s only in the west to take advantage of the FX and so something back home. 🤔
Typical Nigerian, always think taxes is waste of money. Shior
State tax of 13% is only in 1 out of 54 states in America
Y'all are so funny for trying to make America look so bad
The amount of opportunities and simply the quality of life there if you have money is insane
Especially online businesses, it's the best choice
Even if you don't go to USA
There's Canada, Netherlands, south Africa
So I don't know why you're so fixated on Los Angeles state tax and living above your means

I agree.

In my opinion, relocation may be a good option if you do not have foundations here, spend some time out, make some money, have kids, passports etc then come back home.
On the other hand, someone with a thriving business and a property to their name should have no business with relocation, having vacations and healthcare checks abroad is cool.
