I'm so glad that Adams is back and that you're reviewing them. My grandfather, who got me into golf at an early age, used Adam's drivers and woods, and swore by them. When he passed and left me his clubs, I was still learning as an early teen and feel like I didn't do them justice. If I needed new woods at the moment, then I 100% would go with a custom fit Adam's set. Yeah, would definitely make me feel like he's playing with me, but I feel like just using Adam's, a old-timer in the game coming back, would give me so much more confidence. Thank you so much for reviewing the new Adams clubs. They'll be my next buy when I need, just hoping they keep manufacturing by then

I still have an Adams 5 wood that cycles in/out of the bag depending on course. Also the Kai'li white shaft is very stout, I was fit for that shaft into my Stealth 2 earlier this year. Can really go after the ball with that shaft. My chs with driver is around 110 mph

I’ve got 2 adams hybrids that I rotate in and out of my bag from back in the day. A 3 hybrid and a 4 hybrid that I switch out depending on the course I’m playing. I’m so happy to see them putting out quality clubs again. I might have to try out the 3 wood because I’ve been wanting to replace mine. I’m still using a taylormade jet speed 3 wood, and I haven’t been able to justify buying a new one due to the high prices on new equipment. The adams clubs fall right in the range I’m looking to spend.

I have an old set of Idea Tech V4 irons. 4-6 hybrids, and 7-gap wedge irons. I absolutely love the hybrids. I did not hit the irons well, but to be fair I do not hit any irons well. I am probably a candidate for an all hybrid set, but I can't see myself using them yet. For every 20 iron shots, I will hit one well. When I get frustrated enough trying to hit irons consistently I will make the switch.

Great stuff as always Rick 👍👍

The 16 degree is my go to for into wind 220-230vstinger and the 20 degree digs me out of rough and still goes 200 yds. Adams were so far in front of the big brands. Good to see them back

TMAG bought both Yes! and Adams. They essentially bought the R&D and then swallowed it up. Similarly, Ping bought a ton of the Nike patents.
This Driver is VERY similar to the TM Rocketballz that was "unique" to American Golf and Decathlon.
TM clearly using the Adams name to create some affordable products for the less brand conscious.
Zebra, Ram, MacGregor and some others have been bought by one company too. Which is why we are seeing a semi revival of those.

  • @scottw5253

I carry an Adams tight lies, that I bought new in the late 90's, in my bag to this very day. It's been re-shafted twice and maybe a dozen grip replacements over the last 25 years, but the club head performance has never changed. I've used it for drives, approaches, high fades, low draws, from fairways, deep rough, sand, pine straw, low stingers to stay under the wind, closed face punches out of plugged lies in the mud, 50+ ft putts from off the green, chip shots, basically everything except a flop or wedge shot obviously. It's the club I warm up with at the range before rounds. That Adams club has had more of a positive impact on my enjoyment of the game than any other brand or club I've used. The head would have to break in half for me to replace it with something else.

I still use my Adam's Tight Lies clubs from about 12 years ago, the younger people at the courses always see my head covers for them and ask what brand it is. Gives me PXG 0211 vibes on cost and performance. I run 0311 gen 5 driver, 3 and 5 woods and they are awesome and also very cheap if you shop about and are patient. I paid £140 for driver, just £97 for the 3 wood and £129 for the 5 wood, I picked them all up almost new with the £97 3 wood having never been hit. It had been sent out and the box damaged by the courier, when the buyer opened it there was a scratch on the top and he sent it back. It then made its way onto ebay where the close up of the scratch looked far worse than the 3 or 4mm it actually was. I have also picked up an as new Scotty Cameron Phantom X 12.5 for £180 and Big Bertha CF19's for £185. So quick maths that's £731 for a pretty high end bag. Iv also picked up PXG 0211 irons for £150 and B21 hybrids which I flipped for £300 profit.
Short version is unless you don't care about the cash shop around, exercise some patience and try the occasional cheeky bid and you can pick up some cracking deals. So far this set up after the flipped clubs is around £430, I'm still flipping and aim to get this figure to zero maybe upgrading the bag more in the process.
One more tip, buy yourself a UV torch for around £10-15.....iv not bought a ball since picking one up. Just walking 2-3 holes nets me around 40 balls per time.
Back to this Adams driver, wait 6-12 months and you will pick one up for half it's price similar to PXG 0211 range of clubs.

I used to have an Adams speedline driver and used to hit it well...a mate offered me more for it than I paid for it so it went (but I do miss it) also have a Adams hybrid ...

Yep… Just imagine with your normal 111 mph clubhead speed what the numbers would be! I’ve watched hundreds of your reviews of drivers with that Speed so it would add to the carry on the total distance which makes this driver truly a total winner. Excellent review I can’t wait to see the rest of the clubs reviewed here. Love this channel

I still play Adams CMB forged irons and have an Idea Pro Black hybrid that gets in the bag depending on where I'm playing. Adams were ahead of their time, there's a reason Taylormade bought them and suddenly Taylormade irons are good again. I've tried taking the CMB's out of the bag, I've got a set of 712 AP2/MB that are just sitting there because the CMB Forged are still that much better.

Have the rereleased 2020 Tight Lies FW and hybrids and love them. They also offer a 60 day trial so I’ll probably pick up the new driver

I currently game the mavrik driver and have been thinking of getting something new. But for me the new paradyme or stealth 2 or ping 430 don’t perform well enough to upgrade at the prices they are. Maybe this one is an option!

Love this channel, it took way to long from the time it was announced to the time Rick opened the doors, but at least I’m able to forgive that for the quality of the reviews we’re getting. I’ve had a 30 year old driver in the bag so this is definitely on my radar of things to consider. Thanks Rick!

I played my first round today with my new Adams Idea driver - it was INCREDIBLE. I love this driver...so pure...and for the money - just like you said - can't believe the quality for the money.

I used to use nothing but adams clubs. I switched to Taylormade when I kept breaking their xtd boxer driver. It was a long hitting driver. They replaced 3 of them and then eventually gave me a full MSRP refund.
I’d like to see you trying out the old Taylormade r9 with FCT. I think you’d be amazed. I played one for 15 years before denting the club face. Was fairly hard to find one that wasn’t all beat up

Rick...I enjoy the new channel. Two suggestions, if I may?
With any club test, I love to see the data, so please display the data more.
Also, seeing the face strike pattern, with the data would be very interesting...because that tells you everything about the forgiveness.

Played it today for the first time. Never once in trouble off the tee. fairway to first cut on on all holes. About 20 yards longer than the Maverick I was using. 10 out of 14 fairways hit.

If this is what Adams can offer me as someone who plays once a week it’s goodbye big brands. Half the price of a stealth 2 or paradym and its looks the part then why wouldn’t I? Great review Rick 👍🏻

Cracking review rick that driver sounds spot on and for £260 you can't go wrong the other brands are so expensive because they have to pay the golfing stars stupid sums of money and we unfortunately are the way they get that money back
