You folks ever heard of the National Old Time Fiddlers Contest in Weiser, Idaho? I grew up there and I'm telling ya all you really need to go there one year!!
My dad spends the 3rd week of June there from sun up to way past bed time wandering around listening to all the various little jam sessions around town.

"Jump in where you can and hang on!", .....Brisco Darlin
"Won't you give me some of that soldier's joy? You know what I need. I don't want to hurt no more, my leg is turning green."
Happy sounding tune for a very sad song. Thousands of men lost limbs in the civil war.
Opening with some random barefoot dude playing Classical Gas on Corie's guitar! Pretty impressive company there ladies! Hats off to all the fiddlers and guitarists. Fine sounds coming from all those instruments! Awesome video!

It took a while to recognize the last tune (song). The Battle of New Orleans. The recording I remember best was by Johnny Horton.
Really cool, y'all. Thank you so much for sharing. Loved it.
“Classical Gas” written by Mason Williams. Very popular when I was a kid. 1967. Lovely!
A beautiful afternoon in December (Saw the christmas tree), and I learned the chords to "Cokoos nest". What a way to start my january morning here in Denmark. too short though. Y'all ever get to europe sometime? Will come and listen.

@@LoriJMarshall happy new year
❤️❤️
;Great music!
^ ^ So beautiful! Its so good that you keep traditions alive. Foxy Love fae Scotland VVxx
It was so wonderful listening to y'all play! Just beautiful! My Daddy, who passed away in 1999 at age 86, played the mandolin and harmonica. Though the mandolin's casing is slightly cracked, I still have it, and wouldn't take any amount of money for it! Still have the harmonica too, though the rust of time has made it silent. In my memories, I can still hear him play "Wildwood Flower," Wabash Cannonball," "Get Along Home, Cindy, Cindy," "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder," and others! Thank you all! I'm glad I discovered your channel and I'm subscribing! God bless each and every one of you and yours!
Oh I loved it thank you for sharing and thanks for the guests you brought with you.
That was awesome!
I'm glad to see some fiddle players wandered in to y'all's lives again, even if just for a day!
Ok, HOLD UP!!! That's totally not fair that Gunnar got to meet y'all before my family and I did!!!!! I've been friends with Gunnar for a long time, He's Crazy....and I can't believe he beat me to this...😂 I haven't watched it yet, but I know it'll be great!
You snooze, you lose, baby girl!!!!!😜
Gunnar's dad says "It's past tense, she snost and lost!!!!!"

Awww hes a lot of fun!!!! We wanna meet y’all too!!!
Excellent. Sounds very similar to what you'd hear in a pub in Dublin.
I love that
Nice work !

Oh yeah I haven't heard these tunes in years! Great job. I loved this. Thank you so much.
God bless all here.
Love this! You all make beautiful music together! 🎶. 🎵. 🎶
Nice Classical Gas! Looks like a lot of fun, thanks for sharing!
Very nicely done! Thank you all
He's playing Classical Gas on guitar. 😀 Mason Williams 1968. When I hear fiddles, it reminds me of my mom. Her favorite music. She would have loved this ❤.
Reminds me of a John Hartford tune.
We fired once more and they begun a runnin'.
I haven't heard that in years but it sure brought back memories of my dad and uncles hooping and a hollering, stomping and a banjo and tambourines
Great friends mellow time written music that's how hits are made 😆😂🤷🌪️🎥
Loving the music folks.
I love it when Corie’s and Katie’s friends get together to have a jam session
It gets my toe tapping to the music that i could listen forever😊❤
Thank you!
Corie, you and Katie’s friends are sooo talented, I could sit and listen to all of you for hours on end ❤😊
Fabulous x
Sounds like tea caddy music to me for sure
Tea caddy is cockney for paddy which means Irish just in case you didn't know
Thank you.
If all you have to do is fiddle around, at least you do it fabulously!!!
Looks like great fun! How nice to hear all of you together. 😉
Plays the guitar and violin. I can tie my shoes. both of them.
Hmmm. Interesting. Two versions of "Soldier's Joy", which presumably crossed the Atlantic with British fiddlers (since it's still a very well known standard dance tune over here) and Arkansas Traveller" - sorry, "traveler". I like the fact that the lady on the extreme right is having a go, despite the fact that both tunes are obviously new to her. Excellent. That's the best way of acquiring a repertoire, if you are going to play in sessions regularly. In the past, I have always encouraged new session players to do exactly the same. After all, that's how I learned. Not sure how an Arkansas tune managed to get into the Appalachian canon, but never mind, it's still a good standard much used melody, and goes with a swing if you are all playing it, especially with plenty of fiddles.
been LIKE A HAKE TRAVEL AROUND SEEN MANY LOVE YOUR MUSIC BRINGS ME BACK WAN I WAS YOUNG DADDY
EVERY THING IN MY LIFE WAS A FREQUENCY, OF MUSIC AND EXCELLENT MENTOR S THE TAUGHT ME VERY WELL, TO FIND SONG OF MY LIFE
Loved this.Thank you so much for sharing your God given talents.

Nice! I particularly liked the variations on Soldier’s Joy. Thanks ❤️
Just beautiful... I just kept expecting someone to dance LOL I know I wanted to while listening! :)
Classical Gas!! luv it all
I think it’s so wonderful, watching the group of you, playing the string instruments and keeping the music coming, keeping the hoedown happening. And all I can say to that is Yeehaw. 😂
🙏❤️
