Just the last 4 minutes are not as amazing as the first eleven minutes. I guess it's meant as some kind of musical deconstruction. As such, it's good. But the track deserved a better than good ending.

I think the finale go Government Came is one of their most brilliant, however I tend to actually skip its intro, which usually never happens with other songs.
I remember seeing this in Montreal in mid 2016. This was far before anyone knew there was gonna be a new album and I remember everyone in the venue trying to place the song. No one knew what the fuck they were listening to but everyone loved it. It came out of nowhere, and it was an almost religious experience. I turned to my friend and said "I haven't heard this before, I don't think anyone has." The experience was only made better by the fact that the venue was an old church, Le Théâtre Paradoxe, in the west end on Montreal. The most fitting place I could imagine them playing.

The Toronto show was a great GSYBE audience, but the Mtl experience was somehow more special given the performances were in the city they call home and there`s a special vibe with the people attending as if they are all more more connected with the group and not mere fans.
I also went to one of the Paradoxe shows and had similar experience. Once it`s over and the ``Where are you going`` is repeating and the lights come the trance I was in ended and I was wondering what I had just been through.
I wish they had kept that distorted and haunting gospel like drone in the beginning on the record. Having that sound resonate through your body live was magnetizing.

I finally listen the new album. Good point the recording is very good which was not always the case (Béhémoth recording is quite bad in my opinion lack the fury of the live version). About this shortened version I understand what gybe tried to made. A more peacefull song in the spirit of their early tracks. But to me they definitively kill the best part. The first crescendo before the climax was one of my prefered movement of gybe last release. so sad
So... I bit difficult to digest for now. This is the end of the song "railroads" which I love, maybe I am too used to the live version (/watch?v=NBJoNhcArN4) and it will get better with time, as with every GYBE song, they all improve with listenings and time

Seeing Andrew tate, Binging with Babish, a few other familiar faces. Why? Once I came back from Jovenes. All of a sudden everyone is using encargado, store which actually was a tension, no sub. Maritonica. Face-palm bx they have no idea those words weren't as important as hechohulmidad and Buena voluntad. It was just a recovery program. Maritonica was just for the leader and the other people checking up on how the house was doing and individual report. To make decisions such as will the recovering addicts have a free Sunday or taken away. Sundays was just watching movies and having fun. Again a recovery program. Monday through Saturday just meetings. Alcoholic anonymous meetings that's it. Holy shit did people assume the worse. Was Martin actually Jose Luis brother? Looked like a twin brother. It's not an official name. I'm starting to see it called that amongst tapers. New Song 1 is being called "Buildings," and as you pointed out, it has to do with the film contents. It seems odd to me that no one has seen a setlist or talked to someone in the band about this. Anyway, I hope they record these to album soon.
i talked to them (just tim and sophie), and they just told me they still didn't have a title (it was last summer). They probably will release the 2 tracks as an EP early this year.

I swear when this was recorded live, with the "view from being on a train" projections that earned it the nickname "Railroads"....there was a video on YT of it with all the train-oriented footage/projections.......but that video has seemingly disappeared. Has anything esle seen/remember what I am referring too?
Why the new songs they record on an album sound worse than live versions? The same happened to Albanian that turned to Mladic, Behemoth that turned to Peasantry.., Gamelan turning to We drift.. All the newly recorded songs lost the depth..

Don't misunderstand me. This track is awesome but the second part look more classical to me. Strangely the two new songs are built exactly the same. It's good that godspeed back to more melodic and less powerfull song. I really like behemoth but on the long term this is not as good as previous record (specially Lift)
+Raphael Mazelier Lift is so overrated in my opinion. The emotion in that album is almost as fake as the "emotion" in emo bands, other Godspeed albums have much more passion and meaning in them.
+Da' Rito Do you really think that, though? I can understand if someone thinks that Lift has cheesy parts; it certaintly has. For me the whole album is full of outbursting, beautifully delivered emotion which is not in the slightest way fake. I mean, at least for me - which means nothing - , it's one of the most deeply moving pieces of modern music. It triggers, I would even say unleashes, emotions that are buried deep down in my psyche. I don't know many albums which can do that.

This (alongside the track "Buildings") is a live recorded version from the previous tour, they've been playing these 2 songs for almost 3 years now, and it's likely that they're gonna be on the new records. The titles were given from the fans based on the video projections the band used during the performance of the 2 tracks.

the shame is that the records on album are way shorter and played 'faster' than those on concerts, which reminds me of F#a#oo and LYSF times. the band used to give more time to their music on albums...
pretty sure it's called railroads because they played video of railroads while they played the song in concert. i don't think they have actually named the song yet.

I had the very same experience in April 2015 in Italy. It was such an impactful and unexpected piece that we all stood up all night talking about it.

I found what I *think* is this same (or a very similar) performance on another UA-cam video, dated 2015-04-07. iirc I found it on the Archive under that date, so you could probably track it down as well.

as always goosebumps with GYBE..... I' ve seen them for the 8th time at Bristol a few months back...it was the best performance of them that I have witnessed until now... The soundtrack of our times and of the times to come...

I was supposed to see Godspeed You! Black Emperor last year in March in Garden Grove. Last time i saw them was almost a decade ago in Pomona at the Fox theater.
Still to young and naive to fully understand the value.

I don't believe that is correct. Anthem for No State Part 3 is definitely this song from about 14:30 onward.
I finally listen the new album. Good point the recording is very good which was not always the case (Béhémoth recording is quite bad in my opinion lack the fury of the live version). About this shortened version I understand what gybe tried to made. A more peacefull song in the spirit of their early tracks. But to me they definitively kill the best part. The first crescendo before the climax was one of my prefered movement of gybe last release. so sad

So... I bit difficult to digest for now. This is the end of the song "railroads" which I love, maybe I am too used to the live version (/watch?v=NBJoNhcArN4) and it will get better with time, as with every GYBE song, they all improve with listenings and time

Does anyone know when Godspeed will release a new project?
Crossroads. Constellations. Can. Train. A constant symbol since I have arrived back from Desert Hot Springs. The towering building at a park. The terrifying atmosphere of a parking station. The signs of missing. As I turned the valve looking for a green button on the light post. I could hear what sounded like a train underground. I first heard it at Chapman and Harbor. Then as I was released by the cops again I heard it near 1st and Bristol. Raitt and 5th. And harbor near hazard. A mysterious bump that made some cars vibrate. Seeing what I thought was family. Only my moms side. Then a drone above me. Cars behaving weirdly once night came. Seeing a few officers in old busted cars. What's really going on? Seeing Andrew tate, Binging with Babish, a few other familiar faces. Why? Once I came back from Jovenes. All of a sudden everyone is using encargado, store which actually was a tension, no sub. Maritonica. Face-palm bx they have no idea those words weren't as important as hechohulmidad and Buena voluntad. It was just a recovery program. Maritonica was just for the leader and the other people checking up on how the house was doing and individual report. To make decisions such as will the recovering addicts have a free Sunday or taken away. Sundays was just watching movies and having fun. Again a recovery program. Monday through Saturday just meetings. Alcoholic anonymous meetings that's it. Holy shit did people assume the worse. Was Martin actually Jose Luis brother?

Antonino Modica I wouldn't change them. Like Albanian and Gamelan, they are their own versions in a way.
I ended up only putting the new titles between brackets, as a reference. These are still slightly different pieces than the ones on the record.

It's not an official name. I'm starting to see it called that amongst tapers. New Song 1 is being called "Buildings," and as you pointed out, it has to do with the film contents. It seems odd to me that no one has seen a setlist or talked to someone in the band about this. Anyway, I hope they record these to album soon.
i talked to them (just tim and sophie), and they just told me they still didn't have a title (it was last summer). They probably will release the 2 tracks as an EP early this year.

I swear when this was recorded live, with the "view from being on a train" projections that earned it the nickname "Railroads"....there was a video on YT of it with all the train-oriented footage/projections.......but that video has seemingly disappeared. Has anything esle seen/remember what I am referring too?

Why the new songs they record on an album sound worse than live versions? The same happened to Albanian that turned to Mladic, Behemoth that turned to Peasantry.., Gamelan turning to We drift.. All the newly recorded songs lost the depth..

Excellent recording. The first part of this song is near from the best of godspeed. I'm not fan of the second part however.

Don't misunderstand me. This track is awesome but the second part look more classical to me. Strangely the two new songs are built exactly the same. It's good that godspeed back to more melodic and less powerfull song. I really like behemoth but on the long term this is not as good as previous record (specially Lift)

Lift is so overrated in my opinion. The emotion in that album is almost as fake as the "emotion" in emo bands, other Godspeed albums have much more passion and meaning in them.
+Da' Rito Do you really think that, though? I can understand if someone thinks that Lift has cheesy parts; it certaintly has. For me the whole album is full of outbursting, beautifully delivered emotion which is not in the slightest way fake. I mean, at least for me - which means nothing - , it's one of the most deeply moving pieces of modern music. It triggers, I would even say unleashes, emotions that are buried deep down in my psyche. I don't know many albums which can do that.

This (alongside the track "Buildings") is a live recorded version from the previous tour, they've been playing these 2 songs for almost 3 years now, and it's likely that they're gonna be on the new records. The titles were given from the fans based on the video projections the band used during the performance of the 2 tracks.

the shame is that the records on album are way shorter and played 'faster' than those on concerts, which reminds me of F#a#oo and LYSF times. the band used to give more time to their music on albums...
