Definitely one of the best and I’ve seen Major League baseball in 55 different ballparks including Camden Yards and the dearly departed Memorial Stadium.
I was lucky enough to get to see a game here a few years ago. Great stadium. One of the best I've ever been to, in fact. This thing will last for decades to come
I always love stadiums that have open views of the city and other buildings! Great stadium!
The Hilton they put next to it really took a lot of that view away. Damn eyesore, that
What’s your opinion on Oracle Park in my city, San Francisco?
the oakland coliseum used to be like that until al davis had a hissy fit and had the city put up mt. davis in the stadium :(
@@MagicalBread I love Oracle! I can’t wait to go to a Giants game one day and visit that ball park! The water views look breath taking!
@@garyhall7867 I knew a guy who got me In the suite lounge there for playoff games so I can’t say I agree
Now if only Peter and his family sell the team to someone who wants to put a winner on the field. Great video.
I have to ask, but are you talking about Peter Griffin, from Family Guy?
Too bad the Orioles don't have an owner like Bob Castellini of the Reds, who is well respected in Cincinnati and actually tries to put a decent product on the field from time to time. Very likeable guy from what I seen of him. Importantly, he lets his baseball people run the show. He doesn't meddle and never demands attention.
@@christopher370 I'm guessing he's not talking about Peter Griffin, from Family Guy?
@@111highgh Peter Angelos. He has been one of the most conservative owners. The Os have been a mess since he took over. The last few years do feel like there is a decent trend but he was notorious for saying he'd never pay a starting pitcher because they only work once every five days.
@@Sp0rtzfan45 to think the O's were getting competitive 10 years ago. They were so fun to watch. Only for them to instantly become trash again.
With MLB The show coming to Xbox finally and stadium creator being a feature that I'm really looking forward too content like this will help me out. Camden was a instant classic of a ballpark.
Love this place!! The B&O railroad museum is next to it
I went to a game there in 1994 and was blown away. I have been to approximately 10-12 MLB stadiums, and Camden Yards was still the coolest for me!
Glad you mentioned Pilot Field in Buffalo.
Camden Yards is the only reason I'll ever go to Baltimore
I go to Baltimore every 3 months for my kidney appointment at Johns Hopkins’s I’m lucky I get to past it and M&T Bank Stadium and saw games there before.
Battling Chicago for the title of the Crime Capital of the US.
The acquarium and inner harbor are nice attractions too
Man come for the crab cakes
Love The Yard. Take your time and walk around... there are sooo many awesome food items in different locations. It will always be my favorite ballpark to go to.
Beautiful ballpark! It fits perfect
I've been in this ballpark at least three, maybe four times. It's worth every penny. Put it on your bucket list of must see stadiums. Caught a ball from Curtis Granderson during the Tigers warmup there in 2007. Class guy.
PNC Park in Pittsburgh I need to see, too. Looks great on tv. I also recommend Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, which has the excellent Reds Museum nearby. Wonderful baseball history.
I've never been there but I've seen hundreds of pictures and videos. Such a beautiful stadium and the wearhouse behind it. I hope it lasts forever.
Was there yesterday. The team on the field has left a lot to be desired, but we have without a doubt one of the best parks in baseball. If you're ever in town catch a game.
You make vids really well imo. Short and sweet, and straight to the point
I was at the first night game there. It blew me away. Still a great park 29 years later.
I’ve been there.
Even after 30 years it is still worth a visit.
I was born in 2000 I gotta say I wish I was alive for their old stadium so many memories their Go O’s and ravens
Oh what a treat it would have been to have been a player or broadcaster in the 1940s or 1950s, particularly in the National League.
Heck yeah I’ve been there it’s a beautiful ballpark. Sox park is nice too especially after the renovations. Nice video 👍
Thanks, nice video. They really started a movement.
I worked for a vendor of Camden Yards. Got a chance to drive around in a golf cart around the halls in the empty stadium. It was an experience.
Best stadium in America. Very happy to be an Os fan and call baltimore home
And to think my team, the Oakland A’s has been trying to get a stadium built for over 20 years
Oakland Coliseum is a shit stain.
@@111highgh it's always been shit.
Man i feel got ya poor As you don't deserve it with your history
I lived in SF Bay Area when A's completed their 3-peat, and they drew poorly then. WS tickets in 1974 were available at the box office - which never happens with real fanbases. They need to move - Nashville or San Antonio or even Portland, as the Bay Area cannot support 2 teams.
This stadium is amazing! It just has such a special feel to it. The seating is very nicely laid out and the stadium is right off of 2 highways and a train station. As for amenities, if you go here I recommend trying out Boog's BBQ. The only thing I wish I could change is the on field product.
Very nice video
I loved going to ball games there. Good video.
This beautiful stadium and fans don't deserve such shit ownership. I hate that we still have the Angelos' somehow still hanging around
yeah
Amen
Elias is bringing new hope, but we shall see
Amen.
@@35mm21 Probably would be more had Angelos not run Davey out of town.
It looks and feels like baseball. Not an amusement park like many others.
The Place to see a Ballgame in the 1990's back when the O's were a contender, the '93 all-star game, and Cal Ripken breaking Lou Gerhig iron man record. The Orioles for a while became the mid-atlantic region's team drawing fans from up in central pa out to West Virginia, DC, down through Virginia. Fans of other teams made road trips, fans of NL teams (before interleague play), and baseball fans in general, made the pilgrimage. It was a true 10 out of 10 experience with the exception of the Yankees fans. Seriously the place had at least 25X the urinals of the 1970's version of Yankee stadium and you guys couldn't figure out the sink was for hand washing.
If only this beautiful ballpark wasn't home to a franchise that's irredeemable shit.
From Western Maryland,,great video "Turner Field"????
This video made me fall in love with Baltimore and the orioles again, I was born and raised here but I always liked philly better.
Go birds! Go O’s! Go Sixers! Go Caps!
Bet you loved the 1983 World Series :D
That's because Philadelphia IS better!
My hometown! Let's Go O's!!
Definitely a future staple in 100 years.
Chew on this: Oriole Park at Camden Yards is 30 years old this year. Also, this park provided the backdrop for Cleveland Stadium in Major League 2(the stadium in Major League was Milwaukee County Stadium).
Like many Red Sox fans I often go down to Baltimore when the Red Sox are down there. Camden Yards is a great ballpark. Interestingly, its roots go back to the 1986 World Series when the Red Sox played the Mets. People were able to see the sharp contrasts between Fenway Park and Shea Stadium. Fenway was charming and interesting while Shea was unappealing and boring. Those impressions led to the construction of Camden Yards and the other retro ballparks.
Great observation. I still remember watching that series and thinking how the game felt so much more alive at Fenway over Shea.
can you do Baltimore's memorial stadium
Ive been to Camden Yards for a game in 2017 and it is a fun time. The play on the field sucks usually but the atmosphere is great.
My favorite AL Ballpark and PNC is my favorite NL Ballpark!
Great park
You should also review the superdome like how come it’s the only domed stadium built pre 1980 that hasn’t become absolute yet?
Janet Marie Smith should be in Cooperstown.
The only thing that my San Francisco Giants did was moving the pitchers mound from both team to the outfield and changing the dimensional of the outfield
Oh, you must mean both team's bullpens, which used to be down both foul lines and are now end to end in straightaway center field.
Can you do a video about the Pittsburgh Civic Arena?
One of the few bright spots left in an otherwise forgotten city.
Can you do Brookside stadium In Cleveland. It was a early 20th century
stadium with a capacity of over 100000.
It is now a field with a baseball diamond next to the Fulton Street bridge.
Double Riverfront photos? Damn
Memorial stadium is state of the art
Which state?
@@howie9751 a state of confusion
In the 1950s, perhaps.
Please do First Energy Stadium next
Dear Oakland A's. Please take notes. Just ask for the engineering blueprint to Camden yards and do the exact same thing ⚾️
@1:21 how is the White Soxs stadium outdated it is a baseball only stadium? they wanted it to look old on the outside and new on the inside
Can you do Turner field?
Camden Yards is not Forgotten.
Its become more of a mix of channel name and subjects now than a literal definition, my channels changed a bit over time, however current stadiums still have elements of history that tend to be forgotten over time...
This is my second favorite ballpark behind PNC park (I think that's the Pirate's stadium). Anyways, I wish my White Sox had a stadium similar to this because it's kind of average, but with great views in the inside, though.
Review the RCA Dome
I miss memorial stadium
Please do Fenway
Now for the perfect baseball atmosphere it is time to install a drawbar organ and play it a lot before, during, and after games.
In 1992 Oriole Park at Camden Yards was the place to be
30 years already
Petco Park?
Hey wait I’m from Baltimore, and I can say, I miss memorial stadium.
Steps in the upper deck always made me feel like I was going to fall
I went to Memorial Stadium once and liked it. But Oriole Park is the best.
The Colts don't miss it that's why they left town
@@michaelleroy9281 may a weird holy man spray your shorts with liquid gold
@@michaelleroy9281 they're in Indianapolis. Would the Ravens have played there?
It is a shame no one goes here even before COVID.
Orioles are a Bad Team with a Very Good Ballpark
@Derek Jackson How Bad is it? And What's the Worst Part of the city?
@@sacramentokingswillrise7525 Most likely Northwest Baltimore City.
I live in baltimore :D
Do Madison Square Garden next!
2 factors for why the Orioles attendance has dropped
1. Team hasnt been very good and the newness of the park wore off.
2. The Expos moving to Washington DC, the Orioles had built a fanbase in the Washington DC- Virgina area. The Nationals arrival cut into their fanbase and their success over the decade has made it hard for the Orioles
The first outweighs the 2nd. Once the team had a fire sale in 2000 followed by Mussina leaving and Cal Ripken retiring in 2001, there was no one to root for. Attendance was in free fall 4 or 5 years before the Nats arrived. It has stayed mainly down due to the team's refusal to compete.
@@TheBigFiz21 I looked at it as a temporary bump. Attendance recovered some (not back to 90s levels), they were interesting to follow. But wasn't the same, they never really invested in their starting pitching (that's nothing new), Nelson Cruz wanted to sign but they cheaped out on him. You could see it coming in 2016, they never took the next step...now that they had a good team, of trying to keep it. Retrospectively the Davis contract was desperation. I think the fans want a long term solution-they were invested in Adam Jones (my favorite at the time), Markakis, Machado, but only lasted a few years and even in 2012-16 period the starting pitching was average at best (the bullpen was great)...they had to win with offense.
“More influence than any stadium ever”... in America sure
Two things. 1) not many countries play baseball. 2) baseball is a sport that allows you to be super flexible when it comes to building stadiums. You can make your own dimensions, your own fencing, seating can be however you want it to be...there are many things you can do with baseball stadiums that you can't in any other sport.
Our minor league team's field dimensions are the exact same.
Been there
How bout dem O’s?
truly forgotten. nobody knows they still play baseball there
They should have kept memorial stadium
I like the retro classic look over that atrocious donut a lot of places was using 🤮
Did you know a woman designed it? We need more like her. Also do you know her name?
I found an old taco bell at my place
Great stadium terrible owner. The Orioles are the Lions of MLB.
A gorgeous stadium, a team held back by idiot ownership.
Im from Baltimore & i agree
Still one of the best of the new ones - PNC in Pittsburgh, and Oracle in SF are only 2 I like better. What has caused excitement to wane some is how trashy the Orioles are - consistently one of MLB's worst teams, unlike their history, where they were a pitching powerhouse. I have seen baseball in all 31 MLB cities (including Montreal), so have a good basis of comparison.
You should go to Citizens Bank Park in Philly. It's a great park as well.
@@Rockhound6165 I have been to CBP in Phila several times, and it is a nice park. Where it loses in my book is being there in South Philly with the other parks, as opposed to a neighborhood in Center City Philly. I think they were considering a location in Chinatown, which would have been near Rittenhouse Square, tons of restaurants and bars, and other great attractions of Philly. Intimately, they chose the location convenient to suburban and out of town commuters. I get that, but as a result, it is not as nice an experience as PNC, Camden Yards, GABP in Cinci, etc. It is a great umprovement over the Vet, and Philly is a rabid sports town, but I like the others better.
@@jdhjimbo have you been to the middle of Philadelphia?
@@Rockhound6165 Yes, many times. Center City Philadelphia is wonderful. The North side is awful, and there are other bad areas in Wesy Philly, but Center City is a great area - Rittenhouse Square, Xociety Hill, the area around the Ben Franklin Parkway and Fairmount Park. It is a real draw for any city .lover. I do not want to hang out at Temple U, or some of the neighborhoods near Penn. The Orange Line needs some upgrading too, as it is pretty nasty under City Hall, waiting for your train to South Philly.
The Orioles have been in this stadium for 30 years now; they were in Memorial Stadium for 38 years. They should be clamoring for a new stadium before too long!
I don't get what's so special or unique about Camden Yards, it looks like a normal ball park. Not that it's bad, there's just nothing that stands out to me. PNC has the bridge and overlooks the city, Oracle has the bay, all Camden has is a big brown building lol. I'm not trying to offend anyone, just generally curious why Camden is regarded as a top baseball park.
Forgotten? lol
Frustrating for a white sox fan to watch this
Comerica is nicer
