Great video. Being a lifelong fan of the O's and living in Baltimore my whole life its awesome to see out of town folks experience and seeing it through their eyes. Side note Eutaw street itself is open all year so if you come back you can see the ball markers with less of a crowd.
It’s definitely one of the best ballparks in America and we had an absolute blast. Thanks for the tip! We may have to visit Baltimore during the off season and check it out 😃
I’m 40, born and raised here in Baltimore, so I’m old enough to have went to games at the terrible Memorial Stadium as a kid, to be able to appreciate how amazing of a stadium OPACY is! And everyone that comes from outta town to see an O’s game all says the same thing, how great our stadium is! And now that my O’s are actually good again, it’s sooo much better! I been to atleast 1 game a year since I was around 3!
I was at that game. Eddie Murray played first base for the Mets. The concrete was so clean and the blue chalk lines were still visible at the end of each row of seats.
The yelling of "O" during the national anthem goes back to the 70s. My mom and me had season tickets when I was a kid from like 93 till maybe 2003. Back then it would mess up performers singing the anthem on the field as they werent expecting it. I figure they warn the performers now cause I havent seen that in a long time. Also everytime I go I try to read atleast 5 home run plaques, there is around 100 of them I think. (I always drag my feet on the Yankees ones) Fun fact, Eutaw street is about 30 feet higher than the playing field. Earlier this year Gunnar Henderson hit a 462 foot homer out there according to Statcast. But his plaque is around older plaques that read like 430 feet. This is because Statcast measures as if the ball lands on flat ground, where as back in the day they just did the overall distance. Griffey Jr's plaque on the warehouse reads 465 feet. Im not a mathematician but I bet if Statcast was around back then Griffey's homer would have measured around 500 feet. P.S. you guys did the park justice in the tour. Next time get a crab cake.
Dude this is some awesome information. Thank you so much! It’s nice to learn about these historical fun facts from fans. It really shows their love for the team. The yelling of the “O” really threw us off and thought it was awesome! Thanks for watching and we definitely plan on visiting again 😃
Awesome videos guys, loved watching it as a Baltimore fan who’s been to Camden numerous times. I know that the fans and stadium staff put a lot of pride into making the experience memorable. Really glad you guys got to experience it and appreciate the video 👍🏼
Thank you for watching. This is definitely one of our favorite ballparks and you should be proud of Camden Yards and the Orioles! The experience was incredible! Appreciate your support
Enjoyed your video. I was at that game! You can also rent out reception space in the warehouse, there have been lots of Oriole-themed weddings with a great view of the park! There are a lot of O’s history items on display on the club level, too (but pricier tickets). Fun to walk around and look at. Glad you tried the crabby fries, and Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, but Boog’s pit beef is a must. Flag Court is fun during batting practice to try and catch a ball. It was fun to watch what caught your eye, as a Baltimore-based fan who goes to the park often. I’ve honestly never stopped to look at that hall of fame wall! That blank green wall is used to show ads during tv broadcasts, but stays blank in the park so it doesn’t mess with the batter’s sight line.
Thanks for the info! This was such a fun park and there’s so much going on here that you could miss some of the small details. Gotta try boog’s next time! Thanks for watching 😃
That's such a cool stadium, I'm not sure if it beats Citi Field though. Cool skyline...you need to see Petco Park too. Did you ever finish looking for the Mets markers? Makes we want to get back east so we can do some more park vids too! Thanks for sharing!
Petco park is definitely high on our list! Hope to visit soon. We hear such great things. Never found the Mets markers though lol. Thanks for watching! 😃
I’m an O’s and Ravens fan from England and visited Baltimore and New York for the first time back in October. Didn’t get to go to a game unfortunately, but I am going to the Mets vs Phillies game this summer in London, should be an awesome time. Don’t have a personal stake in the game but good luck to the Mets!
Great video guys. Very well done. Hope you had a chance to visit the Babe Ruth birthplace museum a few blocks away. I look forward to watching your other ballpark reviews.
The O's have been to 6 WS championships lost two to the Pirates and I believe the Mets were one of those surprised you didn't remember that one. PNC took a lot of the good stuff from Camden yards and incorporated it, PNC is a beautiful park.
Omg you’re right! Totally forgot the Mets first WS was against the orioles. Both parks are beautiful and currently our favorite parks. Thanks for watching 😃
We're very intrigued now that it ranks so highly on your guys' list of ballparks 😆The homerun ball locations are so awesome! Really helps you understand how superhuman athletes are.
All the traditions you mentioned have existed for years. O during the "O say can you see" in the National Anthem. Playing Thank God I'm a Country Boy for 7th inning stretch. They added Take me out to the Ballgame before Country Boy about 20 years ago and as an Oriole Fan from long ago I would always wait until I heard Country Boy before I would actually stand for the 7th inning stretch. For me Take me out to the Ballgame was for Harry Caray in Chicago and Sweet Caroline is to Boston. You went to the park on an amazing day and got to experience the true feel of the ballpark. MLB is so awesome in their fan experience. It truly is the only Major League Sport that is affordable and welcoming to families. The deals they offer for discount tickets for kids and students and allowing you to still bring in food to Camden Yards is unlike any other professional sport.
Camden Yards was definitely a special trip for us and all those traditions made the experience that much better. Thank you for your great comment. Loved hearing a personal story from fans. Thank you for the support 😃
That was a great and fun video! Can't wait to finally visit there myself - hopefully next year. I want one of those 1st-time visitor badge and card packs! Didn't know about those before. Btw, first baseball game I ever saw (on TV. . . back in L.A.) was the 1969 Orioles v Mets World Series, so this was especially fun to see.
Most if not all stadiums should have some sort of first time visitor gift. Definitely ask 😃. The 1969 World Series was a great one! Good to know it was the game that got you hooked on the sport. Thank you so much for watching 😃
oriole fan here, i live in fl, i miss not getting out to camden you guys brought back alot of memories for me great job overall i always thought the brass balls on camden were a great touch myself.
When I lived in Baltimore a few years ago I always walked past Camden Yards whenever I could walk up West and East Pratt Street to the Inner Harbor. Been to a few games myself, watched the nearby Hilton Hotel being built. I personally think the whole bag rules are bs. No wonder less people are going to games in some areas.
Kinda sus seeing these two walking from the direction of Lexington Market before the game. As Baltimorians, we all know what goes on at Lexington Market and that doesn't include food! They are seeing why Baltimores nickname is "Charm City"!
To comment on the orioles history. We don’t have a a many championships to celebrate because our best teams fell in an era of not having the wildcard and in some cases no championship series either. The 1980 orioles won 100 games but didn’t even make the playoffs.the 64 orioles went 97-54 and didn’t even make the playoffs(thanks Yankees)
@@MrMrsK21 indeed we do. We have a few key players who are hurt and we are hoping can somehow come back but even so, we should still at least go to the ALCS.
How far can you hit a baseball?
Hit a triple into shallow left field once in little league at like age 11 😂 - PK

At least 40 ft

You guys are lucky to have such a great stadium and such a good young team too! Makes going/watching your team much less frustrating 😆
FYI, the first game at Camden Yards was the final pre-season game in April 1992, against the Mets. So the NY Mets helped to christen the ballpark.
Wow that is a fun fact! Thanks. And thanks for watching! 😃
I was at that game. Eddie Murray played first base for the Mets. The concrete was so clean and the blue chalk lines were still visible at the end of each row of seats.

Both beautiful in their own rights 😃
Jack Dempsey boxed AND played for the Orioles? That’s amazing. Rick Dempsey played for them too.

By all accounts babe Ruth’s dad’s bar he ran was in center field, and they lived above it. The legend lives in Camden yards baby
