    Glad it is working for you, can Apostrophe add Tranexamic acid to the Azelaic & Tret? If they can I might switch from Agency to Apostrophe because Agency only does up to 5% Azelaic acid in my tret/tranexamic/niacinamide 'script and I'd like to try more because I have redness issues also.

    Hello, I've been using tretinoin for half a month and my pores are enlarging :-( Is this only temporary. Should I continue or stop? And somehow the scars are two deeper. I'm at a loss. Kind regards

    • @UmaZafar
      @UmaZafar 13 днів тому

      That’s temporary, you have to wait 2 months of using it until it starts working. Most people it takes 3 months, you have to be very patient. The scars being deeper isn’t normal, but tretinoin usually gets rid of scars. How to use - get a very very gentle moisturizer (Cerave gentle moisturizer) is good, use mosturizer wait 1 minute and then apply tretinoin and then wait 1 minute and then apple moisturizer again, keep doing that for 1 month, and then just apple tretinoin and moisturizer the normal way.

    I gave tretinoin a go, but ultimately I decided to go back to using Adapalene. Tret was just way too finicky, and it felt like it was getting in the way of my skincare goals rather than helping me reach them. Adapalene just does its job and keeps my acne at bay.

    •  Рік тому +4

      I can see that! What adapalene do you use?

    • @TsubataLately
      @TsubataLately Рік тому +3

      @ I initially used a Wal-mart branded generic, but the texture of Differin is so much nicer. It's definitely worth the few extra dollars for me. I want to try the La Roche Posey adapalene, but it's not easily available where I live.

    0.018 % Tret
    1% Clindamycin
    8 % Azaleic Acid

  • @kae2678
    @kae2678 Рік тому

    Adapalene wasn't enough for my acne but I used it for 7 months twice a day to prep my skin for tretinoin, then I went to daily tret 0.5% right away no sandwich method and my skin didn't freak out much (only a few small irritations here and there and a few cystic pimples for the 1st month), I was still using adapalene in the morning to help but now I use tret 0.5% twice a day because adapalene just runs out so fast and it wasn't strong enough. Weirdly enough as much as 15% azelaic acid helped my acne for the first few days it's the only thing that really irritates my skin, it gave me dermatitis and rashes but the 10% doesn't do anything.
    When I first tried tretinoin without using adapalene prior it was a whole mess and I was breaking out even more.

    I've been using tretinoin 0.1% for 4 years and it was a hell of a journey but i sucked it up and kept going, my sking got used to and i have the best skin of my life.
    I bought niacinamide powder and mixed it with water and glycerin to make a face mist that i used continuously during the day if im at home, i use sunblock everyday and a thick layer of Vaseline at night after my tretinoin.
    I swear my skin looks like it's made of porcelain tretinoin is my savior!

    • @hope4017
      @hope4017 Рік тому +1

      Hi, how do u use tretinoin and Vaseline, can you elaborate more plz ?

    • @nikovanegas2735
      @nikovanegas2735 10 місяців тому

      @hope4017 definitely. After i apply my tretinoin, i wait 10 mins, then apply a thick layer of Vaseline before going to bed. Vaseline might increase sensitivity, so if you use tretinoin 0.1%, i would replace it for tretinoin 0.05% until your skin gets used to it.
      Popular myth: People tend to think that Vaseline might make you break out, but i notice that it makes it easier to scrub the death skin the next day while you take a shower.
      Please dont use physical exfoliants. The tip of your fingers on wet skin will do enough to "scrub off" the dead skin.
      If tretinoin is too drying, i would use a very thin layer of Vaseline on clean face or a very Emollient sunscreen and would stop using matte foundations until the skin gets used to the tretinoin.
      If you started tretinoin and have any questions (like skin is too irritated that even water stings, or what other actives you should try and when) just tag me and I'll try my best to reply ASAP.
