The reason why I ultimately helped her, her life is in V’s hand here and she’s finally willing to take the leap of faith in giving her complete trust. I do understand it might be too little too late for some people, but I also don’t want to take someone’s second chance in exchange for my own

@@jaspercheng923 It's funny, cause that's the reason I decided not to help her. To preserve her own life she was willing to betray everyone around her and have countless innocents killed in the process. To me she showed that she's in fact not deserving of my help, especially after confessing to betraying me from the start. She dragged me through it all on a false promise of salvation, that's a really messed up thing to do to someone. And ultimately putting a price on my head and have me be hunted by the NUSA. My understanding was that by giving her up to Reed, it would diminish the already done damage and stop the government from pursuing me and my loved ones (which I was the most worried about). I saw a lot of similarities between her predicament and mine but the difference is essentially the quote above. I ended up with "Don't Fear the Reaper" choice because I felt like there is no way anyone should have to die for my cause. It was always between me and Johnny, so it felt only right to not drag anyone else in this. So Song's choice to put herself above any and every one really goes against everything I believe in.

Depending on when you play Phantom Liberty, V knows they have other options/leads for a cure (Alt and Mikoshi), so he's not entirely hopeless as some people try to make out. If this was literally his only chance at a cure like Songbird, then that's a different story.
I don't blame people who do decide to give her up when she's tells the truth but for my V, he has too much empathy to do that. Yeah, she lied and strung us along but given how extremely desperate she was it's totally understandable. I imagine a lot of people would do the same, the primal urge for self-preservation is one of the strongest forces in the world. Plus, giving her up, after everything V went through to get there felt like it would be a betrayal of themselves. Even though, Song lied and betrayed us, V did not betray people like that, so putting her on the plane was V showing himself that he was better than Song in that respect. Lastly, the fact that the guilt was so overwhelming that she fesses up at the literal finish line and leaves herself completely vulnerable to you tells me she is a good person deep down, even with her flaws (manipulation and selfishness, which are likely exacerbated by her desperation to survive). In an alternate reality where she wasn't dying, I don't think she would be nearly as selfish or manipulative as she in in this DLC.
Also fuck Reed, he's just the NUSA Takemura: a loyal corpo lapdog too afraid to break the leash of his abuser. I think Reed has some blame in creating the events of Phantom Liberty: "recruiting" Songbird and then choosing to dig and and double down in Dogtown rather than evacuate his team at the earliest possible chance during the 4th Corporate War. If he chose to evacuate instead, I think the events of Phantom Liberty would have never happened.

Well actually, I didn't have high hopes when I knew songbird's plan at the beginning, so when I noticed she was haunted by the black wall, I just wanted to help her. The moment she told me that the plan was a lie, I didn't really feel anger but pity for her, a girl who tricked everybody she loved just to survive is heartbreaking, that's why I chose the calm dialogue when I talked to her.

I had the Aldecados, Rogue, and hell just myself if needed. So Mi has none of that. She was brought up within a nest of snakes and used to the point of insanity. The neural matrix is her only hope.

Yes. And even though Song betrayed V, she actually confessed to V before she was entirely safe and did not wait for last moment to f*ck V over, she at least gave V the choice, the choice to help or give Song up. And that little thing she did won over V's heart. In a world as cruel as Cyberpunk 2077, the best you can expect is brutal truth even if the end is sad one should still be glad they were at least given a choice(in case of So Mi).

I let Reed take So Mi after this revelation, I was all for helping her, but to lie and play me that was a no no. I'm compassionate but its not unconditional, biggest rule never lie to me. If she was open from the get go I would still help her regardless. But because she lied not only I feel cheated but I feel I just wasted what limited amount of time V has, all for nothing. So I gave her to Reed. Note I also refuse the cure after. His talk with Myers earlier and his views makes Reed untrustworthy as far as I'm concern, and I do not want V be indebt to these two either. As for So Mi well as Christian Bale Batman said "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you either"
yes its her story, but just because she is the leading woman doesn't mean I intend to follow the script especially when being played from the get go.

But the best ending for me is killing So Mi on the path of siding with Reed. While I don't like Alex dying via this decision, at least no one gets their WMD. Not Mr. Blue Eyes nor Myers. You'll basically set Songbird free because there is technically nothing left of her by the end even if she survives in any ending. And Reed, while pissed at you first, will call you later on and admit you were right and now will set a different path in life. Though not thrilled that the death of two women close to him had to die for him to get this character development, but dope thing about Cyberpunk is that all decisions are conflicting.

@@badboy14132 that's true the biggest issue in being NUSA gets the WMD back, but I didn't play V as some kind of major character in the great conflict for the balance of power between the Corps and Nations. To my V its always his own morale and live. So the idea of the NUSA having a major advantage in the end did not all that matter much. Bottom line unlike alot of people here in these replies, I'm not playing V as a Hero or a rebellious Silverhand, I played as just an individual, who is in a tough situation, but still has his own morale guidelines, and is a much more compassionate individual, he has his own limits and those that he will not cross for anyone.
aka my V he is all for helping the needy open to people BUT you have to be honest with him and do not lie or cross him. Note I chose don't fear the Reaper route I was not about to risk the lives of the people that were more honest to me than So Mi. And as far as he is concern he is not betraying So Mi because I did not trade her for the Cure. that's the biggest difference.
Also calling the Kettle Black So Mi betrayed V way earlier and people fail to notice if So Mi wasn't losing it by the end, she would not have reveal that she was playing you from the start. So I generally don't see anything wrong in this regard

I mean they were pretty hell-bent on bringing us in, or bringing us down. So at that point, it felt like I had no choice but to send her to the moon, even when it brought me back to square one. To me, killing Reed felt like the last blow to a dysfunctional family that has been brushing their problems under the rug for seven years. Myers, Song, Reed and Alex all have so much baggage that they never once acknowledged until now, and it's too damn late. Fuck their whole thing, let Alex live in Monaco, Song be free on the moon, her conscience be damned. Set Reed free from his remorse and guilt that would only grow if he got Song, and feel satisfaction that Myers tried to cheat the system for power, putting everyone at risk and it all blew up in her face.

Me personally I prefer the killing her ending. She’s finally at peace and no longer needs to suffer other people manipulating and controlling her or to destroy her. This also forces Red to come to terms with his past as an agent and finally put it to rest. I feel like nature of that ending really fits the themes of the DLC as well

You take her from the lies, the deciept, the game. And you prove that her ideals that people are only self serving is wrong. That there does exist some modicum of good. And if she feels guilty about it then thats the punishment of living a false life. V killed people like the VDB and lied to people like Takemura. The player is in no real position to judge.

The most incredible character in this game, who was able to evoke the whole range of emotions. From hate to love. No seriously. When I saw her for the first time, I didn’t like her, she was too suspicious. Reed was more likable. But as I progressed, my opinion changed dramatically. In the end, I myself wanted to help her, not because she asked me, but I myself wanted to help her because everything that was done to her was not fair. This is even worse than children on a maniac's farm. she needed to be pulled out of this hell. I hope everything will be fine for her and she will regain her faith in people and help others. Even if V had to die in the canon ending, I would like So Mi to survive and appear in the second part. Such a character cannot be lost.

I let Reed take So Mi after this revelation, I was all for helping her, but to lie and play me that was a no no. I'm compassionate but its not unconditional, because rule never lie to me. If she was open from the get go I would still help her. But because she lied not only I feel cheated but I just wasted what limited amount of time V has all for nothing. So I gave her to Reed. Note I also refuse the cure. His talk with Myers earlier and his views makes Reed untrustworthy as far as I'm concern, and I do not want V be indebt to these two either. As for So Mi well as Christian Bale Batman said "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you either"

So you punished So Mi to literal slavery under powerhungry sociopath for finally telling you one truth after lying to you whole DLC? (which she literally admits to way before the branching of the ending, that she lied about stuff like plane hacking and so on)
She literally could've just let you get her into the shuttle not say a word, you would kill Reed, she would fly away and ghost you or think of another lie. You literally betrayed her trust after she finally started trusting you. And you also didn't get anything from that so V for real wasted limited time for nothing.

@@GRIMHOOD99 Calling the Kettle Black She betrayed me from the start by playing and only reveal to me the truth without thinking given her situation. All her talk about trust and help before are hollow and meaningless to my ears after, My time as far as I see is already wasted way before I have decided to abandon her. I didn't give her to Reed since I refuse the offered cure in the end either, so my V's conscious is clear there regardless of what you think. The refusal for the cure was logical, because Reed and Myer has made no indication that they'll support me after the cure. and I have no illusion that they'll throw me to the wild right after the surgery.
The only good ending with the surgery, is never betray Reed in the first place and lieu Myer so that after the surgery you now have to option to secure a full time work with FIA with full benefit and retirement to live a quiet life. But I'm compassionate enough to So Mi plight and aware about the NUSA darker parts to not side with Reed in the beginning. If So MI was honest or just never spill in the end I would helped her to the moon.

Refusal of the cure makes it worse because you are not doing it for any other reason than spite towards the person who tells you lies whole expansion and admits to it on multiple places during the story. I think some people really just give her a pat on the back for this, a pat on the back that she didn't deserve. The only thing keeping your relationship with So Mi together is her promise. THE PROMISE. When you look at it, she literally used a dying person to her advantage while she herself is dying. So from her perspective, she would know how terrible it would feel for V. V should be as pissed at her as she was when V betrayed her in the other endings. But no, we the players are in control of V and even tho I think V letting her on the moon doesn't really make sense for his/her character, it doesn't matter since the players are in control of V. Letting her on the moon is the best ending since it's the best outcome for everyone but I do not think it is remotely the best both thematically and realistically. Killing Song in the Reed ending is the most in character and thematically appropriate ending in my opinion and my personal favorite ending
