This has to be one of my favorite type of video from you. It is just a nice sit down where I feel like I'm having a conversation with you and you're like "well I read this books and Imma tell ya what they're about" it is just so nice.
I’ve finally gotten around to reading the Percy Jackson series! I’m proud of myself. A 20 year old reading Percy Jackson... but who cares this series is AMAZING. I’ve been cruising through it and starting the last book tonight! I’ll be purchasing the Heroes of Olympus series shortly!
UniverseOfKa don’t feel bad... I just turned 20 and I still haven’t read it, or Harry Potter... actually I haven’t read a lot of really popular series 😂
Meghan Hills that’s cool, I feel like you should read whatever you want, whenever you want. You shouldn’t read a series just because it is popular but because you think you’ll enjoy the story. I’m super into mythology and that stuff so I decided to give this series a shot. Personally I LOVE the concept of Harry Potter, and the story is great but honestly I’m not a huge fan of the books. The writing style is just not for me. It’s okay not to read or the popular things. Just read what you enjoy right? Also, happy 20th!

I'm SO glad you loved Seafire! I'm still waiting to get my copy since it was sent back home instead of the address I gave for where I'm living at school, but I'm looking even MORE forward to cracking it open! Your critiques and quick reviews on books are so succinct and I'm living for them, I love how you talk about books, and seeing your passion of reading and books while doing so.
I finished reading seafire the day before yesterday, so excited for the live show PS please do the cosplay and don’t forget your old friend (mic dagger) not sure if that’s the name or not
I was literally feeling awful today and this came like a sunshine to brighten up this day! 🌞Thank you for inspiring me and giving me happiness through your videos! Greetings from Serbia 🇷🇸
Seafire is supposed to be in the mail tomorrow and I'm so excited!! I really enjoy those little clips they're hilarious and add so much to your already awesome videos and I really appreciate the extra effort
I love these read recently videos. I always end up wanting to read some of the books. Btw Jesse if you want some good halloween vibes The Spook's Apprentice series is great. The books get quite creepy and all the romance side-plots are weaved perfectly into the main plot. It's an old favourite I've been reading. Spooky scary skeletons all year around
I feel like these videos always are so well-made, especially since they're really only wrap-ups (which might otherwise feel tedious after a while). It's really impressive!
I love slow burn too! I mean, I'm a sucker for Amy healthy romance, but slow burn is my favorite. You also frequently see it paired with my other fave: enemies to lovers. Hoping to get to Seafire soon and you should totally dress up as a pirate. Because costumes are fun!
I've been meaning to pick up Seafire! And I had the same feeling on Amy & Roger's Epic Detour. I still love Since You've Been Gone the best of Morgan's books!
OMG I AGREE SO MUCH! I feel that some authors just put romance for the sake of putting it in. It's so rare to find a book where an author actually develops the relationship between two characters :')
I loved Ghostland! I'm also just excited to see that you read a book I've already read, I feel pretty accomplished. But seriously I would love to believe in ghosts but I'm also a skeptic... I try not to be but I can't help. I thought that book was absolutely fascinating!

I just read the book salt to the sea which is by the same author of between shades of gray and I've read both so can say that they are amazing books and I just love the stories so much. They both made me cry and I feel so many emotions when I read them.
I have recently read No Good Deed by Kara Connolly and I highly recommend it! It's very humorous and an interesting plot line. It's a retelling of Robin Hood about this Olympian archer in training who accidentally goes back to the medieval times and least to say that a modern day female with a bob cut hair style trying to survive in the medieval age is amazingly hilarious!
Jesse have u read last leaves are falling it is soooooo good💕💕💕 but it is also really sad and emotional 😭😭 sometimes it made u sad sometimes it made u happy and sometimes it just made u mad 😠. It is such a emotinal roller coaster.
These were interesting recommendations. I don't go for these types of "ghost story" books for the same reason but the plot seemed interesting enough for me to consider wanting to pick up. Thanks! 😀
Slow burn romances are so great - I totally agree. Though honestly I don't mind insta love sometimes... for me it really depends on the characters. I really like that you say what you like and don't like about the books - your reviews are so engaging :)
I m babysitting and with the money I have earned in the last month I bought 5 books, and that for me is a lot in a row, 4 of them I have already read but those weren’t mine and I love them so much I needed to have them, and the 5th one was a book by Phillip Pullman called clockwork I think and it was AMAZING. I am reading the hobbit and tho i like it I find it tedious, like half of the chapters can be skipped and it wouldn’t matter so I needed to start and finish a book at once and , because this book was so short it was perfect. It’s about a man in a bar that is a watchmaker apprentice and has to make a statue for a clock and doesn’t know what to do. A man shows up in the bar to tell a story he has just written and the story is scary. And the book follows what happened after the tale is done. I lent the book a week ago and I want to read it again.
jessethereader its a good book but I had huge expectations because he was one of the closest friends to C.S. Lewis, who I love, so I thought the writing style would be different. Still think is a book worth giving a try
The Mark of The Thief series is a very captivating action-packed series with each page ending at a cliff hanger. You might actually enjoy it alot. I couldn't get into the Percy Jackson books, but it took me no time diving into these books.
I really enjoyed Seafire. I agree with you that the characters seemed to be the same. A few times I would have to go back and reread something because I wasnt sure who said it. But I cant wait for Booksplosion since this will be my first one!
The artsy style of this is the best and I love hearing what you thought so I can really make up my tbr. Also- people who say readers are bad at sports look at them catching them books
I just finished Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys and I am just absorbed in it still. I am just having the worst book hangover and can't stop thinking about it. It just spoke to me on such a deeper level. I gave 5 stars and it has become one of my all time favorite books.
I personally absolutely loved Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour! It became one of my favorites for 2018 but I’m a lover of contemporary so that will also have a factor in it. Those other reads look awesome though!
I have read recently Free Falling, As If In A Dream and it wasn't to bad . It was a mystery and mystery books can be hard for me to get into . But if it sounds interesting to me I read and see how I feel . Like I said it wasn't bad and it was pretty interesting to see the characters and what they were thinking of each other . But right now I'm currently reading The Darkest Magic by Morgan Rhodes .
I loved Amy and Roger's when I read it this past summer, but I totally understand what you mean by Roger's story line being kinda not great. I also am glad that they both didn't admit that they "loved" each other in the end, but they just started to have a relationship, I thought that was well done.
Awesome video! Haha what you said about YA romances. SPOT ON. Also, I've read a good amount of Kadohata and she tends to focus a LOT on a single aspect of a character. I've noticed that a little in Weedflower and Kira Kira as well. Haha I'm also cosplaying as a pirate for an event! Do it!
Okay I recently started re-reading a favorite series of mine when I was younger and need everyone to read the first book. Its called skeleton creek its told through journal entries and videos and is from the pov of a young writer. It's a mystery it has an amazing best friend friendship and I hope someone in the comments picks it up.
If you want a Halloween read try The Chronicles of Vladmir Tod! It's overall a fun, lighthearted read but there's a lot of plot twists and the books slowly become more dramatic as the series progresses
I have not read any of these but heard good things about the last one. I'm a skeptic too when it comes to ghosts but these type of stories fascinate me. I hope I can find it somewhere here. Last two books I've read were Fahrenheit 451 ( I know I'm very late to the party) and a book from Maurice LeBlanc, the author of Arsène Lupin. Vastly different books but I loved them both. I've been reading a lot of books that don't work for me ,this year, so hoping to change that.
Been listening to the audiobook of Seafire, and *loving* it :) I think it has some very interesting explorations of this idea of men vs women (e.g. Caledonia's crew is all-female whereas Aric's is all-male), and I'm curious to see how this will evolve in the rest of the book (I'm just over halfway through). Will do more of a review for my September wrap up :)

btw when you say books you read recently, is it just a fun title for an end of the month wrap up or is recently longer or shorter? Love your videos btw
First of all, you should absolutely be a pirate for the liveshow. Second, Seafire sounds really interesting and I think I might add it to my (way too large) TBR ^_^
