*How to transfer music from iTunes to Android* Watch out latest vid on how to transfer all your awesome music from iTunes to your Android phone! Article: goo.gl/Ijxou
There is a better way than anything mentioned in the video. Simply install Google Play Music Manager (support.google.com/googleplay/answer/1229970?hl=en) and let it sync. I'm surprised this method is not mentioned in the video at all.
Finally! A good video that makes me not feel stupid. The drop and drag to a folder and then copy to phone was simple and fast. Seriously no forums have explained this.
Great video but, meanwhile here in 2015, the DoubleTwist AirSync app looks very different, and I am not finding a way (like in the video) to use it to select invidivual songs to move from iTunes onto the phone -- just playlists, or albums or artists. Anyone have thoughts? Meanwhile we are using drag-and-drop, although we do use DoubleTwist to play them.
Ok so the manual method looks easy enough. One issue i have though is that i spend hours on my iTunes making sure i have all the correct album art and that all the tracks named correctly. If i transfer manually will all my music be sorted properly or will it be back to not being named properly and missing information and album art etc?
Thank you Mark. This is fantastic. I've been an Apple user since 1996 and just got my first Android Pixel 2XL despite not having iMessage or iTunes. I don't use WiFi much so it's nice that you gave a method with a USB cable. I use my phone mainly for photos, texts, and music. Cheerio.
WOW what a quick simple process, THANK YOU THANK YOU. I had used an app before which was tedious at best but it worked, now that app is no longer available, so i had to seek another way to do it, really glad for your demo, have i said thank you yet...
Do I need to keep making temp folders on my desk? If I just add songs to the existing temp folder will I be transferring duplicate songs to my phone, or will it just add the new songs?
I'm in canada (where Google Play Music in the cloud is not available) and I just attaches an american address to my account and used a vpn to enable it. Now it works flawlessly.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I spent a long time trying to download these songs onto my Android LG-MS770, which is nearly impossible, and using your first step but doing it slightly differently, I was able to do it! Thanks again for the video!
I knew you could do it this way, but is it possible to transfer them without a computer? I have a Samsung USB connector and an iphone with no computer near me.
This is awesome but, how how do I take my Ipod music (about 5k songs) & transfer them to my non apple (android) laptop computer, so I can then put that music in my thumb drive & listen to that music on my Tesla Y. Please lmk
Look up a program called Android File Transfer. Its a program that auto opens to the internal storage on your device when you plug into a Mac. Can just copy files both ways like a flash drive at that point.
I'm going to be getting an Alcatel OneTouch Pop Mega in the near future; unsure how to transfer music files to my new phone, this video helps a lot. I think I am going to do the simplest option. The first one, by copying all my files to my phone. Because that one I am most familiar with. Thank you, Mark from Android Authority! :) Happy androiding :3
Thanx for the video.I was wondering how I could transfer my music from iTunes to my GNex. I would use Google music, but I would like to use my PowerAmp Pro music player.
i knew about the first method already and it works but some songs are not able to play on my android lets see if the second one works i want all songs to be able to play
apart from google music and other methods mentioned by others, there is air droid, isynchr and a samsung app for samsung phones that sysnchs itunes. also you can synch to yours or any other persons ipod or kindle or archos by using an usb otg cable and if your phone does not allows usb otg memory but allows other usb otg devices then use app like nexus media importer as shown in my various uploads to copy over your files from your ipod directly without needing a computer at all.
I have a question so any answers would be so greatly appreciated. I created a new folder onto my desktop and copy/pasted all of my itunes music media into the folder. I then plugged my Galaxy Avant into the computer using USB cord and then Copy and pasted that file folder into my Avant. Some music was downloaded into the file while other songs were not. I was told by someone at Best Buy that not all songs would be read on an Android from Itunes, so I am wondering is there some way to get the rest of my music on there? Only about half of my songs are able to be heard..... I am not tech saavy so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much~!
They are probably a different file format than your phone reads. Check the format to see if it is a .wav or .mp3. I believe iTunes will read both but your phone is probably not compatible with one of the formats.
I use apple music on my Samsung galaxy s8, and want to listen to all those music (on apple music) that I already have in my device but don't know how to do! Please help out
i used temp folder method which worked great but now it want let me turn music into ringtones using ring maker pro it tells me file not supported can you please help me with this
I have the additional issue of having a mac computer.... and I used the google play music manger way when I got my new work phone.... but I can't get it to sync again... trying to look for other ways however having a Mac computer F s up everything...
I'm trying to follow the first step. I have downloaded the songs I want onto a temp folder on my MacBook Pro, but when I plug in my Samsung G8 to my computer via USB, it doesn't come up so I can't drag/drop. Help.
Apple are crooks. I've been an Apple user for over a decade. Computers, phones, tablets, all are apple, but I'm about to jump ship and go with an android. I don't like Apple's tactics.
I've returned over £1000 worth of iPad and accessories this month already and my airpods will be going back too. I hate apple with a passion. Everything has gone to shit.
Is the software code of the android android to Apple so that means I will ring Andrew and Andrew in Goring of Coke is that the software because of my song from iTunes or an Apple computer so is the software: Apple door window was the main Apple to android android to Apple ?
Please help when i save a playlist from itunes to computer folder it puts my songs into a-b order i want them in the same order that there in my itunes playlist
Abandoned iTunes 4 years ago as soon as my Music folder crossed 120 GB and switched to Foobar instead, so much better. None of these headaches. Well except for the fact that I can't copy over 250 gigs of music to Android :/
for some reason i find doubltwist not that helpful. it either fails/ takes a long time to sync music, also for some reason, the songs within each playlist are scrambled
THIS INFORMATION IS 5 YEARS OUT OF DATE. iTunes has changed its format completely since this was released and will not help you in 2019 move your iTunes downloads.
+Matthew Maiorano mine won't even open. Complete fucking joke. Apple are a bunch of money hungry cock goblins and I'm only upset that Steve Jobs is dead because at least he was making developments that were worth the money. Complete joke and scam.

my problem with transferring music is that every time i finished to sync download process when i go to test the songs it says something like media file not supported. what am i doing wrong and whats going on? (these files worked before and then i updated the library aka added new songs)(Im using a micro sd)
This video is WAY over complicated. Android devices work like a flash drive. Plug the device into your computer, and because iTunes music isnt DRM protected like it used to be, just copy from the the music into the music folder on your device.
What if you only want to copy certain playlists? iTunes doesn't organise playlists into their own folders, only by artist and album. Therefore this video is useful for that
Can anyone help me out I have iPhone 7 and now I am switching to android phone bcz of some reasons but I have huge collection of songs that I wanna transfer to my new android phone but unfortunately I have no PC 😞😞😞😞 is there any way to transfer songs to android without PC?
I'm told that I have to mount my device, which I can't do. When I connect my device, it's telling me that I have to connect as either media device or camera. If I pick media, it won't detect. When I choose camera, they're asking me to mount the device.

"It's that easy!" Until you realize that songs are being misplaced and album covers are stripped from your files.
+Shane Parker tell me about it. I'm about to buy the album again.
Copying from iTunes to Android from PC manually worked flawlessly...thank you ..it was easy and worked perfectly
Finally! A good video that makes me not feel stupid. The drop and drag to a folder and then copy to phone was simple and fast. Seriously no forums have explained this.
Didn't think it was as easy as dragging songs to a folder. Wow, thank you!

yeah you edited it and now it will be like that forever until edited again.
Ah brilliant thanks :)

after watching this video - it seems that transferring songs to desktop is the easiest option
Thanks
Thanks....the mass file transfer methods with doubleTwist and Synctunes are just what I need.
I knew you could do it this way, but is it possible to transfer them without a computer? I have a Samsung USB connector and an iphone with no computer near me.
Great video but is there a way without pc and just phone to phone. I need to get a few songs from my old crap iPhone 6 to Amazing Sony Xperia 1 mark 4

Wow, it was that simple! Drag into desktop folder & the transfer to phone!!! Awesome, thank you!
Very helpful. Thanks. What about transferring music from my android to my Mac?

thanks for this video, i was so frustrated trying to figure out how to transfer music from my itunes to my galaxy tab!
I have a Mac Laptop. I'm going to be getting an HTC m8 or a galaxy s5. Does this still work and if so, will it work for me? Thanks for any help

With the simple "copy" method, will the music still play even though iTunes files are not an .wma or .mp3?
It would be really cool if Android Authority would PUT ALL THE LINKS FOR THIS STUFF ON THE DESCRIPTION.
Everytime i connect my galaxy 6 it doesn't appear on my mac
Change the USB settings from Galaxy itself
Yeah, that's because you are using a charger to transfer the files and not an adapter.
You should install a software called "Android File Transfer" to be able to use any Android device with a Mac.
how do I do that?
what kind of adapter?
Doubletwist has a much more friendly interface than synctunes from what I saw in the video. Thanks!
Thanx for the video.I was wondering how I could transfer my music from iTunes to my GNex. I would use Google music, but I would like to use my PowerAmp Pro music player.
can you play itunes pocasts with any of these apps or just enter a web address for an itunes podcast without sync to itunes on pc
Great guide, I found the first method of manually transferring works fine, easy and fast.
Hello mark sure that's helpful man thanks but next time pls tag the links of the apps you have recommended....
Very helpful Mark, Thank You.
I couldn't POSSIBLY thank you enough!! I feel dumb not thinking of this on my own! You're the best :) :)
That's a lot of work. People seems to forget about Winamp.
When I transfer it using the first method, am I able to the music on the Google Music app?

Using the Google music desktop app to upload your music collection to the cloud is the best option in my opinion.

do the music players on android support the itunes file format when you get music directly from cds? (m4a)

Thanks for this AA, all my songs I ripped from various albums are AAC not MP3. iTunes sucks and i was using Amazon Cloud/Desktop player anyway.
does the apple music android app work on htc?
same concept for TV shows & videos?

can you put the music on micro sd thats on the phone

My computer iTunes is too slow so I have to ask; can I sync it from my phone?
I bought the music so why can't I access it where ever I want too?
This is so true. I specifically try not to pirate music, but why make it so hard to access the stuff we've paid for?
Thanks, seems so easy when you know how.
Its not recognizing the music files at all after tranfering. Not even when copying it to the computer the music files arent recognized.
