Flying to Greece must’ve been awesome. After all, Greece is the birthplace of the Olympics and Athens hosted the games in 2004. Well that and Greece is full of amazing history

Well Athens should have held the games in 1996, but it was bought by coca cola and went to Atlanta instead. It was the 100th anniversay of the modern games.
Half greek here ✋ Highly recommended traveling to Greece! Even though I don’t live in Greece I at least travel there 1-2 times a year. It’s such a beautiful country and the people are welcoming and always friendly.

Suggestion... Would or could you tell us how full your flights are all of the time? Not exact numbers but maybe like "completely full"," half empty", "empty" etc.I think people would be interested to hear how full the flights are that you are reporting on. Thank you.
More often than not, it's mostly filled, if not completely to the brim; they usually comment if their flight is deserted or sparsely populated.

That was a very quiet take off. We've come a long way in avionics and quieter and more efficient engines.
You should try the RDU-CDG Air France service that starts in October! This might give you the chance to try Breeze or Avelo as well

Felix, in your opinion what is the make of the most comfortable economy seat for long haul? If you reply, kindly ignore IFE in your assessment.
Did anyone notice while the features of the seat were being discussed, there was a life jacket that was opened lying on the floor in the front.

Have always been eager to try Aegean. Hope they induct some wide bodies in the future for long haul flights.
I’ve heard they’ve done some talking with Airbus and Boeing for 787 or A350/A330neo but they’re relatively early in the negotiations
@@DimitrisSartzetakisHope that's true though, and hope it will materialise. Especially if they will fly the wide bodies (whichever they eventually end up with) on London routes (both LHR and LGW).
I'll gladly enjoy the Aegean Pass on this route 😊
@@jayiwa it would be nice indeed. What I’m personally mostly concerned about is if ATH can cope with the extra passengers. It’s already reaching its limits during the summer season with delays basically everywhere including the ATC space being congested. And there are no expansion plans afaik
@@DimitrisSartzetakisplans have been made to expand the capacity to 35 million but due to the pandemic the plan was stopped. This year ATH is going for a new record of over 25 million and plans are moving forward to expand again
I flew with Olympic Airways in June 1990 to Cairo on a Airbus A300 and we had a hot dinner on the evening flight to Cairo and a hot breakfast on the return flight to Athens

Flew same route with Aegean not so long ago. Very fond of Aegean, but flight was a complete disaster-7 hour delay and no explanation. Most passengers missed connections in Athens and sadly Aegean has no staff in Cairo who could have assisted in coordinating the delay.
That moment when you hear this is supposedly one of the best short haul airlines in Europe, and it still has seats that are only slightly better than what you'd find on a ULCC in the rest of the world.

Hey Simply Aviation, I have a question I've been wanting to ask to certified flight reviewers. How do you guys get to record the takeoff and landing and the whole flight itself because when I flew with Air Asia Philippines I got warned at climb to not record. I was using my Cellphone and a Car Holder with Suction. I think it might've been too large what do you recommend for me to use to record my flights? also when I flew with Cebu Pacific they didn't warn me and I was using the same exact device and holder on the window.
So try to record it without they see you if you see a cabin crew passing by then close the camera as fast as you can

Aegean is best airline!
Flew with them FRA-HER in September 2022 and can't report anything bad either.
Idk why but nowadays i feel so excited about flying with narrowbody aircraft, especially when the range is more than 5000 km+. In my country they still serve a widebody aircraft for a 800 km or 1100km routes even tho the plane is not fully booked😅
My home country they fly 500 seater 777s on 200km flights

@@Almaszii ur right it is Ana and actually they are replacing the 77A soon since they are well over 20 year old now. They have 395 seater 789s and some very late build 772s that will fill the gap

Don’t worry, you don’t need to be scared of flying. Let pilots do their job; they are experts and you will get to your destination in no time! Plane crashes very rarely happen. What airline are you going to fly on, though?

@@xczzersouthwest I have flown on it before and there had been some big turbulence towards the Landing when I was headed back from FLL
@@iyapaboutrap If a turbulence happens, just follow the instructions for safety, and once again, let the pilots do their job. You should be fine as long as the crew is responsive to the situation! No worries I can confirm that turbulences don’t occur that often :)
Hey! :) I don't have any specific tips or advice for fear of flight. And I know that talking about how statistically safe air travel is isn't helpful in such cases. So, I can only really recommend to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Wear your favorite clothes, download your favorite show to your phone, get something good to drink and a snack you like, and just try to relax.
If you are running out of ideas, you have not reviewed Albawings, you have not reviewed Air Albania, you have not reviewed economy on the American 737, and you have not reviewed a long haul flight on the Eurowings Discover A330.
On 9:46, that’s the government plane of the Netherlands pretty special you got that close to it!

Airbus A321neo
The front 12 rows marketed as "upfront" do not cost that much but offer a vastly different product. They are free to select with the full economy fare which also included unlimited fast WiFi on continental flights. On flights that are mainly over water such as this one, WiFi connectivity is spotty and hence it is free for all passengers in all classes. Glad to see Aegean expanding and connecting Greece to the world. One of Europe's great airlines 🤍💙
Nice plane but A321 neo of Turkish Airline has a monitor screen to watch on every sit even in economy class
The reason for such food service aboard not only Aegean, but also Turkish Airlines is this shared sense of hospitality to guests. It's called philoxenia in Greek (φιλοξενία) and misafirperverlik in Turkish. It would be anathema to our peoples not to feed our guests. And that was one incredibly stunning sunrise greeting you on your landing in Athens.

Hello mister i want request flight from Dubai to Denpasar
I flew with them a couple of weeks ago from ATH to MXP and was very impressed with them. My snack was a Box with 3 mini cheese pies and a cereal bar.
Word of warning to Aegean though - the previous time I got a free snack on a short-haul flight was on a flight from EDI to BHD with FlyBe...and they went bust a few months later... 😳

@@conormcshane1656 Actually having full service catering is what makes Aegean (and Turkish Airlines) distinct and enhances a positive passenger experience. British Airways made a major mistake scrapping meals on its longer 'short' haul flights to Athens, Istanbul and Larnaca.

Hopefully they’ll keep it. It’s already reduced compared to 2019 with hot food being available only in 2 or 2.5+ hour flights and again less than what was provided before covid

the Greek full service carrier could seriously do with a fleet of 13 brand new B787-9 & 21 B787-10 wide body jets . . . as part of the airline's planned expansion to India, S.E. Asia & the Middle East . . .
Correct and for S.E Asia Aegean should be feeding Star Alliance Hubs BKK TG SIN SQ India DEL BOM CCU BLR Air India Middle East BEY MEA and Cairo Egypt Air Africa JNB SAA and ADD ET with those aeroplanes. Phases 2 & 3 Latin America Panama City Copa and Bogota Avianca North America EWR YYZ YUL IAD UA and AC Eastern Time Zone Pacific Time Zone SO LAX YVR ORD Central Time UA. If A3 wants northern Asia then ATH-PEK for CA ATH-ICN/GMP Asiana feed lastly A3 to NH ATH-HND/NRT.
they would opt for Airbus A350 possibly due to the easier crew training from A320NEO family to A350

@@stefosantoniou Aegean has been reluctant to go long haul because of the costs of having wide bodies during winter seasons when demand falls. However it may now be that they are in a position to consider it - the question is could Aegean make having 1-2 B787s or A350s work for medium haul flights as well as long haul? There is enhanced cargo capacity with a widebody - plus for some routes (ATH-LHR/CDG) to be 'trunk routes' into which feeder flights connect (SKH/HER/CFU or LCA/BEY-ATH). For long haul the question is what destinations would be profitable and what frequency? JFK/YYZ would be the first long haul destinations (the A321XLR doesn't have the range for a full payload to ATH from YYZ or JFK). It is possible Aegean could buy the Boeing 787 if there was a competitive offer from Boeing: Olympic Airways operated a mixed Airbus/Boeing fleet for years
I can't imagine anyone thinking a small commuter plane like the a321 would qualify as being a Flagship...
In the commuter plane category, most people think the CRJ offerings from Bombardier and ARJ ones from Embraer are vastly better than the a321

I fley in an Aegean A321 Neo back in October, in economy, and absolutely hated it. Aegean used to be a great airline and they have become garbage - I will avoid them every chance I get. The Economy legroom is worsee than RyanAir which is absolutely unacceptable.
