I will grant Craven this, at least he was self aware
Which is kind of sad as it's clear he was self aware enough to learn
BABE WAKE UP NEW SHAYNE LORE VIDEO DROPPED
SAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
It makes more sense for the aircraft and potential zeppelin/blimp to be German, even in our timeline Germany had Zeppelins in the late 19th century and it makes sense for them to build support aircraft for said zeppelin. Also, why would the Americans fly all the way to Europe, it's needlessly perilous having to cross the Atlantic with it likely being frozen over so crashing is just death. Its makes more sense for the Americans to stick to the Americas rather then cross the Atlantic.
I think its confirmed that only Tesla from America done anything on that area (Tesla City), but your German theory make sense given they did a little... "peeking" at the British during the Last Autumn
Before watching the video, I vaguely remember frostpunk lore and commonly accepted theories showing that GB, United States and France were the big 3 countries to move northward, and Germany relied on underground/surface level geothermal areas.
If I'm remembering this correctly, the intro for the "A New Home" scenario shows us a city with Zeppelins, and it looked like either a German city or a British city.
@@pwatda5712 I don't think the US as a whole moved northward due to the significant number of geothermal sites in the US. The northern Rockies around Yellowstone in areas like Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming have significant geothermal and volcanic activity and the Cascade mountains are apart of the Pacific Ring of Fire. I imagine during the last Autumn there was a second mass migration to the west, including the capital being relocated possibly to Yellowstone.
@@Cowboycomando54 During the Last Autumn (and again vaguely remember) however is the entire southern hemisphere and equator basically experiencing the climate equivalent of a glassing (The Great Storm?), hence why the British Empire immediately lost contact with the Colonies and Oceanic territories - It's the whole main reason why the 3 countries I mentioned went North - The Equator and Southern Hemisphere became completely, hopelessly uninhabitable, and the 3 countries made knee-jerk reactions to the crisis, moving northwards to avoid the calamity of the south. For sure, I bet on in the theoretical world of frostland there were small state-wide or local-level efforts to utilize the Ring of Fire and Northwest geothermal sites, but on a national level, it is said that the US prioritized migrating north, to avoid what happened in the south.
My brain implodes (in a good way) every time I watch your videos
Snow cats are actually a real thing, though a name brand, they're a tracked vehicle meant for snow.
You absolutely made my day with this one
There's a mention in the game's lore documents that the creator of the steam core was lost in an aircraft crash, which is why we can't just build more of the things.
It might've been something like the plane in this scenario, or maybe not, but it at least confirms that the British also had planes by this point.
Really great lore series’ dude!
“Refugees (Frostpunk Lore)” *FROSTPUNK NERD NEURONS ACTIVATED*
I am so bummed about the direction they went for FP2. There was so much potential here to build on the lore and keep the same mechanics.
The zeppelin thing is straight up prydwen from fallout
I would argue that the Aircraft wasnt Build by the Americans, but the German Empire, as the Germans had much more relevance at this time than the US, seeing as the US was just a Country for 100 years at that point.
8:15 he didn’t leave for me. He stayed, got beat up badly at a cantina, people demanded his public execution, but my gestapo troops rule with an iron fist so I broke up the crowd. In the end my fascist utopia prevailed but the workers fundamentally rejected the lords as different people, so we co-existed peacefully, but not happily.
Count me as one of your 24k subscribers after listening to this :D
Any idea where’s the uk military want including the Royal family?
It would be funny if the Frostpunk 2 protagonist is Craven 😂
Damm brother how this is too much content on so little time
I think the BGM is too loud
Hey, Shayne, in my opinion, music is too loud in this video.
Unpopular opinion: I think hierarchy is integral to human being; whether it’s based on material possessions or expertise or (for like of a less cringe phrase) lived experience. Case in point: family is a hierarchy, (ideally) you show reverence and deference to your parents or guardians and your elder siblings. For better and for worse, they know a thing or two more than you because they’ve seen a thing or two more than you.
Hierarchy is important, but too much hierarchy too much control. It’s also just as bad as absolute anarchy, there has to be balance. there should always be people in charge, but they should never have absolute control, because people are flawed
@@reddevil3277 I agree.
@@reddevil3277wait so me creating Labour camps to finish our generator was…bad?
Seeing your videos and theories makes me hate FP2 even more. The beta is out, and I played it. Not only is it a different game entirely, but it doesn't explore any of the cool theories you have, or other countries. Its just a shit cash grab sequel.
I mean its only the beta version. I wouldn't be so sure until i see the full finished project. The city must not fall is to me a great slogan. Now that we survived, we must thrive and to do that is greatly different than to just think of survival.
Also, it is just the Utopia builder mode that was added. Story may touch other countries, but it was not enabled likely to not spoil the game.
I mean, in FP1 Endless mode also had no relationship to any lore whatsoever. If you played only endless FP you would have begun to hate this game, since it is the storyline that makes Frostpunk as cool as it is, not the gameplay mechanics which are pretty simple, repetitive and boring.
(My personal opinion is that judging games from a rather limited preview beta, which includes no storyline is simply lame and whoever is doing that has no idea what they are speaking about).
The FP2 beta definitely does explore parts of the lore, but it's all done in a way that teases the player for the full game, which I think makes perfect sense.
This was a beta of the Utopia Builder mode, and not the story mode of the game. Even in FP1, Endless mode didn't have much in the way of lore reveals or anything of the sort until one update or the other added the Archives, and even then, it's mostly minimal stuff that doesn't shed too much light on what was going on in the rest of the world.
@@radicallarrythemailman8269the rifts map actually added abit of lore yet once again its also minimal and *its rng based* so you need to reload your save again and again and again for one of the 2 lore in that bloody map
