Courageous trusting of instincts by Crammy. They say that first instincts are usually correct and our Steve sensed that he could steal a march. Love these uploads Kevin, cheers!
A year earlier Kirov caught Cram on the line in the Europa Cup, so the boy had moved on. Had forgotten that Williamson made it to a European final. As juniors, wasn't clear to me which of Cram & he would finish on top.
Was the commentator on drugs? "We expect cram to go with 600m to go". Then with 600m to go. "This is terribly, terribly early for Steve Cram [...] but this is a break that went very, very early with 600m to go".

Cram was super talented with a great racing brain. I think he was the last clean WR holder in the mile/1500m

Once again Coe and Ovett were not present due to illness and injury for one of the great middle distance races that could have been.
Had Coe and Ovett been fit and well - one of them would have won - not Cram.

Great run. Ovett not happy - he laighed when Coe lost IIRC. Yeah Steve O - he had glandular fever.
I think Ovett knew something was wrong with Coe.
For me alberto the best of the history
