- This is a fork of Space Station 14 focused on space exploration and space ship gameplay. It just opened up today, and is aiming for 24/7 up time. Try it out, it is called "Frontier Station" on the hub.

Wow what a cool idea, I kinda imagine once in future we'll have high pop mmo server where you can hop on-off and save your progress like in elite dangerous or star citizen, with pirates, syndies stations.

I mean, currently the loop on Fronteir reminds me heavily of Sea of Thieves (but without the headache).

this looks real fun. hard to think that part of this fork was going to be merged into the main fork.
I always wanted to see a 24/7 version of SS13 with multiple stations MMO style and such. I finally have a reason to try out SS14
frontier station now constantly have high-ish population for a MRP server (30+) and one round runs about 6 hour. It has cryosleep and respawn too so you can log off and log back in for irl stuff.
@@burakkutlu2024 It's just like when a new round starts in other codebases, the map and items are all reset, debris are randomly generated again, etc. So sadly custom modded ships don't persist.
So, shiptest came into ss14... those shuttles need more work to look good but its a nice start
And it seems like fun
The Russian server Dead Space has already opened such a server, but it still works so-so
Imagine ships actually having working guns and shooting at each other so it would be amazing

Holy cow this looks awesome, void crew is good and all but this is like space barotrauma with the moving ships and possibly hostile crew
Won't happen you get banned by pissbaby mods when you self antag yet again a good idea ruined by little narrow minded mods/admins
Unless we have a savior with a rational to allow chaos partially and out within a radius.

Damn, only got into shiptest a few months ago, SS14 a few days ago and I already found a shiptest like server on SS14

I like this gameplay really much. Now as a cap you feel REALLY responsible for your ship and personal. I hope to see more of this in the future

Playing on Nyano and seeing you see zorkmids for the first time is pretty funny lol
For me, the shift ended up with me and two other shuttle crews stuck in the broken FTA while flying to the exprdition, so we got removed by the admins

Won't happen frontier devs are subhumans like leviathan and wizden where you get punished for using mechanics that were coded into the game. Ss14 died when they coded in among us plushies instead of tweaking and finding the perfect ratio of damage and fighting mechanics/game mechanics...
so what happend in end to start :
- u bought a shuttle
- play
- sold it? ( is it 100% cahsback?)
- and went to the cryo chamber like a save point?
It isn't 100% back, It sold for like 75% or something. I'm not sure how it works exactly. Also cryopods is just a way to "delete" yourself and serves as an IC way to leave.

@@limemeiseer2969 Yeah this game mode kinda scream for being able to save your character. That said there isn't THAT much content so if people could save everyone would have nothing to do.

Stupid question, how do you customise your character in this? Normally the buttom is at the right but here I couldn't see it
How's does Antags work for this station? Somewhat similar to classic Antags, or is it a completely new system? Cause although by looking at the comment with people planning on being Pirate.
I would love for some ship to ship\boarding action as either Syndicate trying to hjack a ship or just an extraterrestrial force on a abandoned Trading outpost or ship.
I have not played for long, but I don't think they have any of that. I see someone's asking for pirates. So ideal is floating around.
@@soul_survivor1997 Yeah, a WIP so i can see why. Definitely exited for what to come.
As an admin on Frontier I can confirm that we now allow any non-station staff to play as pirates so long as they follow some piracy rules! We also have occasionally hosted some events allowing players to be syndicate. :-)
@@seniorcaution Recently joined the server and played a decent amount of shift on frontier, so i get how's pirate and stuff work now.

if your scavenging n shit i would say to bring an appraisal tool, super useful. also always take corpses, they are always worth 1k which is pretty good
Yea, Frontier is awesome. When you want to relax from everyday SS14 paranoia, and die not from just another traitor, but only from your own decisions.
Btw I don't understand how security works there. They are somekinda kicking some procedural bad guys. I think. At least I saw some requests from ThCouet station while I was ghost. But it is scary to go there without understanding. And I didn't find how it works. A tutorial could be good.
I know this comment is old but I recently got into Frontier. Active piracy has to be requested and then a station announcement goes out stating you’re engaging in piracy. Smuggling, on the other hand, does not need to be declared. Syndicate caches spawn after the first hour of a new shift. Coordinates can be found in certain locations I will not disclose. You fly out and load the cargo crates up, then fly back and sell them off at one of the cargo stations for massive profits. If sec catches you with them, you’re looking at jail time. In those cases, we usually shoot sec.

I played this station the oth😂day spawned on a medical ship and there was 5 dead players on it. Later i found out that there was a Russian was rmd on it. But sold everything and made 30k tho.
Still not sure why money isn't in the main game yet.
There are vending machines in the station that use money, ranging from gun to food, and cigarettes to wires.

Imagine if they add a pizzeria in space the potential for ss14 is beyond measurement
there is a salvage debris called waffle house, which is kinda like an abandoned restaurant with hostile mobs (space bears) and loot
A good idea and overall potential far greater hope the people who control the project are not idiots or tyrannical rulers we cant have good things because the wrong people manage them.
Let us all be honest here we all know ss14 is not as big as it could be because the wrong people are working on it.
