Just want to say this is one of my favorite reviews of yours I've seen. Well edited, good pacing, great incorporation of others' thoughts, just a nice video.
My playing experience has been similar: more plow through and power than v7, yet slightly more flex and pocketing sensation. Absolutely playable without customization. Reminded me of the DR but not quite as flexible.
Jonas, great work! 4.0 senior, OHB, some top but mostly flat and slice, great touch, medium racket head speed, sort of compact strokes, could use some help with pop. I’ve been playing with the Shift99 prototype. Like how it feels but developing a bit of sensitivity in elbow, not bad though. I am not searching for a new racquet. I was told a few things: 1) The Shift does not jive with my type of strokes, therefore prone to sensitivity.2) I should consider the new Ezone 100 and/ or the new Clash 100. The new PD looks interesting, but I worry about sensitivity…. The Head Gravity 98 Tour looks interesting, but wonder if it matches my level and style. So, I think I will look at the Ezone, Gravity and Clash. From your experience, which would IYO be more of a match for my style and level. I always use a gut/ poly hybrid ( Champions choice) . But I would like to try a full poly like Yonex poly tour pro. Your game has improved so much, Jonas. All the best, John
I played with a club demo of the 300g RF 01 and I have no idea what it was strung with but I got zero power out of it. No matter how much I swung out I could not consistently get it past the service line.
Do you have any idea what Madison Keys is playing with? She use to play the Wilson Ultra and then endorsed the blade. But in Australia she's playing a black out racquet with a bit of blue on the top of the head. Obviously it's an ezone with isometric head shape. Any idea? Thank you.
I plan on switching or upgrading racquets this year. This is at the top of my list to demo. As a Radical user I’m really hoping Head has brought back the TI feel
where did these specs come from? TW says a swingweight for the EZONE 98 of 320, people i work with say it's lower than the 2022 model, and this video says it's 332
I'm in my 40's and now have the Ezone 98 v6 with 4 grams at 12 o'clock (Confidential Solinco). I am really interested in switching to the new Ezone 2025. Will I find many differences?
@@andylittle6140Thanks. Sounded like something like that, but could not find any similar string with that name at Tenniswarehouse, so assumed I heard wrong. Will look it up. Anyone tried it? Able to compare it with any more known string?
It would be cool to get a bit more of a comparison for the 98 to the previous 7th edition, from what most reviewers are saying the 7th addition was easier to get more spin. Is it really worth replacing the 7th edition with this one ?
I used to be a big Yonex fan until I switched to the Wilson Blade. But I never give up on Yonex however.....I tried the 98 and the 100. The 98 felt not good at all. Compared to the Blade, this one felt like a 4by4. The 100 is very nice....but when I asked myself is it any better than what I have now (Blade 98)....nope...it gave me almost the same feel and I was hitting as hard with the blade as with the Yonex. Serving was even better with the blade. ....I guess I have to wait....🙃
@zaakirmahomedy I'm waiting for the new blade and see if it's better. I have bought 14 rackets in the last 5 years, still cheaper than one Channel bag 🤣🤣🤣
No, I have bought and sold many racquets over the years, now I most often get demo racquets from Tennis Warehouse Europe. Sometimes from the brands and sometimes I buy
12:14 That's what I've been trying to find lately. I've used an Ezone 100 and now switched to the 98. Both good racquets but still would prefer sth in between the two. Thanks for the video though!
What is the reason for other brands not using the yonex shape? If there is so much bennefit whit no disvantage shure every brand would have jumped on it at least with a few moddels, no?
Other brands has their own typical shape, I can ask you also why other brands are not using pws system of Wilson. Reality is that not all people likes Yonex's racquet feel.
Thank you for the great review as always. I’m wondering you have tried the new ezone 98 tour, if so, how you like it compared to the regular version in terms of power, feel and control. Thanks
Certainly plenty of players using the new Ezone at the Australian Open, cant tell if they are using the 98 or 100. Seems to be mainly the females using them especially in the doubles.
Great review as always! I’m currently playing with the Aqua Night 100 Ezone, is this new one worth the upgrade? I know you really liked the V7, so thoughts on upgrade to V8?
What's the stiffness RA on Ezone 100? In another video someone said 61, and this one says 69. Could you please confirm. Looking for an arm-friendly setup, and wondering if ezone with a multi (and a slightly lower tension) would match the comfort of a Clash.
I use the Ezone 98 but play with the Clash 98 V2 when my elbow plays up. Both great rackets. The Ezone has more power but the Clash has more comfort and control. I had the Clash strung at 48lbs to give it a little more power. Hoping this new Ezone has a little more comfort and control as it's doesn't need more power in my view!!
But is it worth the upgrade for a current EZone 98 user? I also use Tour Bite to add more spin to my game and it is my string of choice. For serving it is quite accurate and I can git some really good powerful forehands with it. What I like about the EZone is that it is a great racquet for me when I am in defensive trouble. I do not get that from my ProStaff and Blade. Sometimes it can be too powerful for me which is why I am learning to add more topspin to my game. If I am playing against a heavy hitter / server, that is when I will prefer my ProStaff but overall I love returning serve on this.
I use tour bite too, kudos! Is it worth it? I'd say never, it won't win you a match you would lose with the old ezone, but if your current ezones are 2 years ish old and you play 3 times a week and string often, your current ezones are used up.
You need to demo. I think it is better than the previous one, but if you are happy with that one, you can get them for sale now, so then that is an option
I think an interesting video idea would be to investigate the racquets of professional wheelchair players. I’ve always wondered if they also use pro stock racquets.
I played with the 100 for like a year and a half or so,I want to switch to a 98 one!I can’t decide between the new ezone 98,pure aero ,blade v9 or gravity 🧐
If you used to play with ezone100 I pure aero is gonna feel like a brick. Gravity is not as good as 100. I have Blade 98 and is great racket but for advance players . So honestly i would go with new ezone 98 if I was you.
I am surprised about the spin comments. I know the Ezone is not a spin racquet like the Vcore or Aero but always felt that it had good spin potential. Is that not the case?
It doesn't give you free or automatic spin like an Aero or Vcore, but it offers excellent spin *potential* due to its aerodynamic frame and low SW whip. This is one of the reasons the Ezone 98 is special for me. I can hit as flat as I want with a low launch angle, and I can add spin whenever I want without the frame dictating one way or the other.
@ Perfect! I had the old one for a bit. Hurt my elbow from it. Been really looking forward to moving back to it. The HL balance will also be better for my OHBH compared to my current stick.
@@Tennisnerd I plan to purchase the 98 tour. It’s unfortunate that the hundred is so much stiffer and plays very differently when it comes to feel and touch. The hundred is build just like a Babylon pure Drive too stiff!
I play with TFight 305 2022, is it good enough to switch to ezone 2025 for more power and maneuver a racquet. I need a racquet which is more head light and can help me push the ball into depth. And what your thoughts on new TFight 305 2025?
I'm facing the same dilemma. Currently with the TFight305, but the SW and balance are a bit of an issue (already have leather grip on it). Is it better on the volleys now with the added stability? Only downside I found to the old one was the lack of stability on my volleys
