I googles the three-fifths compromise, it was an agreement reached between the north and south for counting populations and deciding how many seats each state would get in parliament and how tax would be distributed.
The 3/5 compromise said bthat slaves weren't people so each slave was worth 3/5 as a regular citizen. So when the census was counted all the slaves was only worth 3/5 a person. It was a way for the south to gain power in the HOR. The north didn't want slaves to be counted as a whole person because they obviously weren't citizens and didn't have legal rights.
LilaRose89 We don't have a parliament. But yes, it was a compromise on counting population for representation. With slaves comprising 1/3 of the population in some states, the South wanted to prop up their numbers.

+LilaRose89 see you said where you got it, theres a person that commented that made people think they knew this from the start. they were caught plagiarizing it was hilarious when he got called out on it! :)
Google continues to alert me about this thread, and every time I just get more and more upset that people actually have to search this.
I'm pretty sure that country clubs ONLY allow W.A.S.P. ......
My best win ever was this, "Instead of coal, Santa now gives the bad children this year's mass shooting."
So Santa is real?
Will might be my favorite host, love all the hosts, but I feel like Will is somebody I would actually hang out with.
Yea i feel like any of them would be cool to hang out with but if would have to depend on what you would be doing when your'e hanging out. They're all awesome and i like each & every one of them for different reasons but Will is just being really awesome right now
i would hang with steve
4:14 the guy in red is saying "Get me the f*ck out of here."
that chest is unbeleevable
looks like wills been working out
Pull-ups
HAHAHA, thats a good one brah.
Push... I mean pull-ups
Gr8 b8, I r8 8 / 8
When steve asked what the 3/5th's compromise was I totally though will was gonna make some ridiculous thing up, but no, he remembered. Good on you will.
Will- " you're playing with my sensitivity. What I would like. And we all know I don't like anytning" hahaha
"You think you're gonna win this?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I KNOW I'm gonna win."
"I'm sorry, uh, why are we playing?"
Will says the wittiest shit.
I love that whenever Matt becomes a character, it always has a classy southern accent
Trish is freakin adorable. She would be a great mom.
the guy in the red looks a bit uncomfortable and insecure looking from the way he sits and i love that. so cute
kia search for People Be Like
I use the combinations you guys play on this show to win games of CAH with my friends. Works every time.
The 3 weirdos and Trisha her happiness works really well with the weird energy that the guys put on display. By the way the episode of #tabletalk and the episode of comment commentary that have Matt, Steve, and Will in them that are supposedly the worst are actually two of the greatest videos ever but having Trisha in the mix makes it that much more fun.
That energy which creates you can't go back to something it never left; that something being the universe.
As a history major, that 3/5 compromise misunderstanding got me right in the heart. My god man.
I swear Will quotes things from the If I Were You podcast all the time now
Could you even say that this energy...surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together?
I think that the energy thing Matt was talking about in the beginning is pretty much the Force.
I wonder what the "beards are beautiful" poster looks like to people who don't know anything about Sourcefed.
They think it is awesome
I was having a really bad day, and this cheered me right up, thanks so much guys.
Why does Matt look just like Shawn from Boy Meets World from that angle lmfao
I love it when you guys play cards against humanity! keep them coming guys
You know who I'd like to see together? Steve Zaragoza and Jesse Cox. Man, that would ve hilarious.
I love watching you guys play Cards Against Humanity...... makes me believe u have friends of my own to play with :-(
The spiritual energy when people die.... it all returns to the lifestream, then gets pumped out of the ground by Shinra's Mako Reactors.
Shoutout to the editors for never cutting to the overhead camera no matter how many times Will tried that bit! Funniest part of the episode!
The 3/5ths compromise would have been a perfect answer to that country club one haha
Whenever Trish plays this game she always has a big grin and I wonder what kind of card she has. But it's just Trish, she's always smiling. That's adorable and confusing.
love how matt reads the cards like a poet
SourceFed, teaching us about the conservation of energy.
the 3/5 compromise was pertaining to the house of representatives distribution. When counting the population in a state, southern states would have been at a disadvantage if slaves counted for nothing, but since they weren't citizens, they could not be counted as whole people. Therefore, they were decided to count as 3/5 of a person when pertaining to distribution of representatives in the house
Matt was so adorable when he tried to do the "and that's how you-" at the end XDDD
Matt- "Pieces are falling off every day"
Me- SourceFed Nerd has Leprosy
There NEEDS to be a card that just says "and."
At 13:54 Matt's "weellllll" really had me thinking he was going to start singing the 'Kyle's mom is a bitch' song from the South Park movie.
oh, clever Steve, I applaud you're subtle doctor who reference about the purse.
In every video Will is in he mistakes 'sensitivities' and 'sensibilities'.😆
When they didn't know what the three fifths compromise was, I was silently screaming in my head.
The 3/5 compromise was an agreement made at the Constitutional Convention where it was decided that a slave would count as 3/5 of a person for both taxation purposes (deciding how much of the national tax burden was to be placed on each state is based on population) and representation purposes (for seats in the House of Representatives). Northern (less slave-holding) states wanted slaves to only count for taxation purposes, while Southern (more slave-holding) states wanted them to only count toward their representation. 3/5 for both purposes was the compromise reached-- hence the name.
Awesome! Matt and Steve have the same thoughts about death than me. Its the first time I hear someone explain it as I do, makes me all giddy inside =)
Whoever wrote the description, I love you.
I'm gonna call product placement on that big blacker box!
I love Steve's voice
Love the overhead cam!
I have to say watching these has helped me play this game with my older guy friends. They are sophomores in college and I am a junior in high school and I used to rarely get a black card and I won all 2 games this last party and I felt like a CHAMP
When I play this game I choose the most realistic ones.
10:26 Will's poker face is amazing
Matt's energy belief is kinda true , energy cannot be created or destroyed . Also the second law of thermodynamics , and i paraphrase A LOT , states that energy can flow out but never in , so after you die your "energy" cant go back into your body but be transferred into something else , kinda like what Matt said. BUTTTTT if you die thats it as far as we know lol
I like it when you guys play "Fibbage!"
I find it insanely funny that will was the the one to answer what the 3/5 comp was
Who else would love to see Sheldon Cooper trying to make sense o this game
I think he would short circuit if he tried that.
I'd like the idea that you turn into a being of energy or something like a spirit
All the death talk almost trigged an anxiety attack
At first I was astounded that Steve didn't know what the 3/5 Compromise was, and then I remembered I took AP US history last semester. Nevermind!
I'm a big fan of the game show: Silence Library. I think it be a really great idea that the guys should try to imitate the show. The game golden rule is not to make a noise. There six people and each has to pick a card. On one of them there is a skull, or all but one of the card has a skull. The ones that have the skull(s) must do a challenge all the while staying quiet. if successful they get an award, such as money or whatever they so choose. I think we all will enjoy seeing the gang having fun.
that "energy" you guys are refferring to is called atoms...
Atoms are collections of energy and mass
We are atoms
everything is atoms
We are everything
I believe you mean swag
***** No...just..no
Spencer Mccall Yeah, your logic is VERY flawed there.
i feel like the facial hair really fits matt (it look good)
He looks like tony stark
Steve is a combination of Charlie Day and Jon Gabrus
Matt made a comment about losing a front bumper which reminds me that the front bumper of my car is still at my friends house, at least it's a great conversation starter.
I fucking love how they incorporate wasp into every video now lmfao it kills me every time x)
A while back you guys were talking about watching MLP FIM (My little pony friendship is magic), now I have to wonder are you gonna do it or have already done it? Maybe make small review of it or do a reaction? /) Brohoof
o-o...Ooookaaay...
Yeah, no. Just no. Never.
No
/) Brohoof
No
Now you have to do a reboot with "Cards Against Humanity Begins" on the next installment
lol that top view really makes me feel like im watching televised poker
Five Nights at Freddy's audio reference 15:06? "yayyyyy!"
Steve not fearing the idea of nonexistence cements my suspicions that he is not human
Will is my absolute favorite
How many times has Cards Against Humanity been played on Sourcefed and SF Nerd altogether?
Poor Trish, her only win was thwarted.
"Maybe a new star."
Does he know how stars work?
*gasp* CAH IS BA- wait CAH? *mumbles cards against humanity* YEAH CAH!
i love trisha's face,it's so darn cute, pretty priz let her win next time, for that sweet kind face
XD I love how the wasp thing is still going
Nobody's gonna comment on all the Egyptian Ratscrew references?
I just realized I grew up getting news from people who didn't know what the 3/5th compromise was.
Steve is a beast at this game.
The description is so awesome
And that's how you rap scattly pat the cat on the mat, pat!
This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang, but with _______. I was totally waiting for someone to put "The Big Bang" card.
4:50 trisha says steve's is a boobs man, 5 seconds later he's caught with the eyes in the funbags
Ok I may be sounding dumb here. But what is the "Robin" for in the title? Did I miss something?
Read the description. It's a batman reference :)
Ohhhhhh! :) Thanks I appreciate it!
I'm kinda curious what's gonna happen when they reach the Dark Knight
Awesome
I love you Cards Against Humanity.
16:05 was definitely the hardest I laughed at the vid.
why is it that everyone is lookin extra attractive in this video???
Matt just explained the Lifestream Theory from Final Fantasy 7, wish the game took that long to explain it :P
If an animation doesn't come from at least something in here...I'll be a sad panda. I would see this particular one as a gold mine, if I was the animator.
The three-fifths compromise is when each slave was worth 3/5 a person.
Trisha has a great smile and the game was a great laugh as well. Keep up the good work guys! :D
"It's a rap-a-tatta-scat-frat." Way to go, Steve, it's still a thing! >:(
I get how Will said that he played "Not contributing to society in any meaningful way" for himself rather than Steve but I thought it was a pretty clever one.
"I'm sorry sir, we don't allow ghosts at the country club."
"Boooooooooooooooo!"
That energy helps make a spirit bomb
I really like the new camera angle, keep it please.
She got the whoooole wo-orld
In her purse!
To possibly answer Steve's question "Why 3/5" If I remember correctly from POD last year (Problems of Democracy) I think that if slaves voted, their vote only counted as 3/5. I'm not sure though.
I love that Steve answered Matt's question about the 3/5th Compromise at the end of the video. Matt asked why slaves were considered 3/5th a person....answer: racism.
Within one minute, you already talked about what happens after death....
9:35 Will "im gonna give it to you"
The 3/5 compromise stated that slaves are worth 3/5 of a man when counting number of representatives for the house of representatives. This was included in the original constitution to settle disputes between the southern colonies that wanted slaves to count because they had many more as a result of cash crops (tobacco, indigo, rice) and northern colonies that had fewer slaves.
If you go on the Cards Against Humanity website, they have a rules pages. "Changing out a card if the player doesn't understand it" is actually something you can do. The player then has to be shamed by the other players for not understanding it.
