For those that never saw it, Cast a Deadly Spell, was a pretty good HBO movie, with Fred Ward as Lovecraft the detective who would not do magic in an LA that had not too long before the story come have magic, 1940is. Harry was played by Clancy Brown. It David Warner in it, sometimes called Evil Genius because Time Bandits was not the only time he played that sort of character. I recommend seeing it.
While Fred's detective character is called Harry Philip Lovecraft, yes the movie has two Harrys but Fred is usually just called Lovecraft but despite that he is not based on HP Lovecraft. The story is has that as part of the inspiration.
I watched it again recently and it was better than I had remembered when I saw it on HBO in 1991.

Did he said, when the question about Bobs Skull came up, "It is hard to say w/o giving away the truth about Kincaid"? Or did i understand it wrong?
