@@user-2012July-A Amen. Thank God for each and every person that carries a weapon for self defense and the defense of others. I say it especially about women and the elderly too, since they're likely to be victims of opportunity and are unable to defend themselves otherwise. It's unlikely that they could ever overpower an assailant and take his weapon from him. Guns really are the "Great Equalizer" and that is why we have the Right and Duty to carry them. It requires no permission or approval (like a "permit" or having to come up with some justification before being able to buy/carry one). Cowards and slaves ask permission to exercise Rights, but Free people just OWN them. Only problem in today's American is that people enslave themselves. They cowardly ask their masters permission... and then obey when it is not given. (Then they act as if someone else is responsible). Would be funny if it wasn't despicable and delusional.

Matheus Carvalho - depends on where you live and what you consider a good living. I don’t think it’d be enough in say California but it would definitively be in a place like Texas.
This is judging off my dads checks though. He retired after 23 years and was an E7 or E8. If they were in for less time then it’s probably less. Also depends on the severity of the disability. My dad is somewhat paralyzed in his left leg from an IED.
I do know they get the GI bill now a days for every year you serve. So if you served for 4 years you get 4 years of college paid. Something like that. You can also give the GI bill to your kids or spouse if you don’t want it or need it. This is the post 9/11 GI bill.

I feel like the part that's even more amazing wasn't that he was willing to take a grenade for his friend, but that it was his FIRST INSTINCT to jump in front of it. You can say sweet things to a loved one, like "I'd take a bullet for you," or "I'd catch a grenade for you," but in the less-than-few seconds this guy had, his first thought was "I think I'll save this guys life real quick, and probably lose mine in the process." My respect for this man is off the charts.
