Their facilities are very impressive for an academy that isn’t sponsored by a single club.

I really don’t know if I rate Chelsea’s academy, on the one hand, they win heaps of youth team trophies and accolades, but on the other hand, that’s arguably because none of those so called “talented youngsters” actually get an opportunity in the first, so are they really at the level they’re portrayed at?
The transfer ban that Frank had to steer the ship through really helped them realise they can give the young players a chance and they will be good as we’ve seen with the likes that are in their first team now. Before that they never got the opportunity
So Newcastle is a bit of a funny one because Wallsend Boys Club is actually responsible for a lot of the development of quality players in the Newcastle area (including the aforementioned Shearer, alongside Peter Beardsley, Michael Carrick, Steve Bruce and many others) and they operate well past the usual academy player ages for other clubs.
Gordon, Welch, Onyango, Dobbin, Simms, Patterson are just the immediate names who cane to mind when thinking of players that came through the Everton youth teams (ik it’s not the same as the academy but very similar
In terms of recent output (homegrown talent) I'd agree with Leeds in 14th but if you factor in recruitment we would be much higher, Victor Orta has helped sign so many gems for the academy in the last few years. Gelhardt, (Sam) Greenwood, Summerville, Gnonto, Lewis Bate, Sonny Perkins, Mateo Joseph, Gyabi, Hjelde, Drameh e.t.c
Derrick Ombass. I'm a Chelsea fan who likes to follow the academy teams as much as possible. Yes, Chelsea's academy over the last decade has been very impressive but so too has Man.City's academy & their development of young players. In fact there was a good rivalry between Chelsea's & City's academies for a few years. For three seasons in a row, 14/15, 15/16, 16/17, Chelsea & City contested the FA Youth Cup final. Chelsea managed to win all three times but City eventually got some revenge when defeating Chelsea in the 19/20 final to finally get their hands on the most prestigious non-first team competition that we have in England. Chelsea's dominance has dropped off a bit in the last 2/3 years. It had to at some point, it's not realistic to think one club can remain dominant indefinitely. It's incredible that Chelsea's academy was able to keep the conveyor belt going for as long as they did. Four times Chelsea's U19's have reached the finals week of the Uefa Youth Cup that is held next to Uefa's headquarters in Switzerland every Easter time. The two semi-finals on the Friday & the final on the Monday. Chelsea have reached the final 4 times, winning the tournament twice & coming R/U twice. No other English academy has managed to reach the semi's or the final as of yet. I'm expecting Man City's academy to do so in the near future though. The one big negative regarding Chelsea's academy for quite a few years was how none of their academy players was being given a decent enough opportunity to become established in the first team. Thankfully though this eventually changed & in the last few years several youngsters from the academy have become established in the first team. Against AC Milan in the CL last week half the outfield players were from the academy (& it would have been 6 players if Mount hadn't been subbed off). Unfortunately though the club can't keep all of them at home. The summer before last, for example, the club sold 4 academy players for transfer fees totalling £80 million. There's no doubt a few gems have gotten away over the years. In the summer of 2019 the club lost 16 year old Jamal Musiala to Bayern Munich. To rub salt into the wounds he decided shortly after leaving Chelsea that he would represent Germany & not England (he has a German grandfather). He's still only 19 but already has 17 caps for Germany & has played over 100 games for Bayern's first team. As if losing De Bruyne & Salah some years back when we didn't need to wasn't bad enough.
Don't know if you have Done a what's happened at Skenderbeu. They are Albanian and won many many consecutive top flights but are declining rapidly resulting in relegation last season. Congrats on 500000

Liverpool have Trent Curtis Jones and Rhian Brewster who is now at Sheffield.
Manchester have Phil Foden and harwood bellis a young centre back who Manchester City fans like.
Fulham have had Harvey Elliot and Fabio Carvalho, good mention there.
Aston Villa do have good young players such as Cameron Archer.
Alfie, we all know that England, Germany, Spain, Italy are the leagues with the most talent. Leagues such as France or Portugal are below that. Assuming those are the top 6 leagues around the world, how would you rank the rest of the leagues from 7-20? As an American we always hear that the MLS is about the level of league 1 or the Greek leagues. I’m interested in your unbiased world opinions on world football.
How are Crystal Palace 9th? They are top of the u21s league, just beat psg u21 7-3 and have many players in the first team from the academy
16:15
The GOAT carrying Southampton's standing
Hey. Can you do a video with each premier league team's best academy 11 and rank them???
Alfie don't agree with forest 16 , 12 more fitting , Brighton ahead u mentioned one player played for a top 6 club Barry , forest have had 8 in 15 years ????
You forgot to mention Marcus Edwards, Noni Madueke and Dane Scarlett all from Tottenhams academy who will no doubt be great players in a few years time
nice vid🔥
I have a friend whose cousin plays for the Brighton 2nd team.
Ivan tony came from newcastles acadmay
I can finally subscribe now that I'm not one of the people who got you to 500K
I knew Vitesse was a lock for #1 before I opened up the video.
how was sterling included in liverpool’s academy, i thought he came thru at QPR?
a documentary on the afc Wimbledon on the nine promotions in eleven years, how they’re a fan own club and how they have a stadium in plough lane now.
The story of they lost the club, how the F A allowed that and won’t allow that anymore.
How they were very close to moving to ireland
How they went up the English football leagues.
It would be a good documentary video if you can do this. #thepeopleschannel
can you do a video about arsenio erico? He ist top ever goalscorer of the Argentinian league and one of the greatest pre World War 2 footballer. Di Stefano has called him the greatest player ever
P.S. Great Video of course
What are your criteria for this? Dembélé signed for Fulham when he was 16. Hardly an academy product from a young age.
Is it only modern academies? Because I don’t think you mentioned Fabregas, Adams, Keown, and Andy Cole. Of course I’m biased
Why are Bellerin and Fabregas mentioned for Arsenal. Both are from the Barca youth academy not Arsenal's
Could you please rate the Women's Welsh Premier league this would include the North and South. So all the teams playing thier aren't that many.
So Newcastle Utd., where the great Santiago Mùnez had a rise are in the relegation zone in this list. 🤔
City’s rise just doesn’t stop. They have invested heavily but at correct places. I have to give them that.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they surpasses Chelsea in the next few years at the top.
True as a City fan i am excited to see the talent in the next few years with the likes of Palmer, Delap, Esbrand, Lewis, O'Reilly.
We are in good hands with these kids ready to step up in the next 2-4 years, i mean people like Rico Lews, Esbrand and Palmer have already made a claim to be in the first squad
Chilwell was signed from Milton Keynes.
It looks very odd seeing Ederson in the outfield kit in the very first image in this
Dane scarlett!!! He’s killing it at Portsmouth on Loan from Spurs
Time to rank all-time academy graduates of current EPL teams
How many other players who came through an English clubs academy have won the ballon d’or besides Michael Owen?
What on earth is going on at akhisarspor video? In the super lig in Turkey in 2018/19 but are now playing in the 4th tier of Turkish football
Alfie, didn't Sterling and Fabregas get bought while they were young and pushed into first teams? I could be wrong but Sterling was a Super hot prospect at QPR and I'm sure so was fabregas. I think overall your assessment of these academy isn't going to be affected much but I think these players I mentioned would have been super stars anyway...
Sterling came through at qpr so he’s wrong there, but fabregas was a part of a previous deal arsenal made and he did in fact come through Arsenals academy before signing professionally
@@ajb2759 thanks, it's just my opinion that Fabregas learned most of his abilities at Barcelona but I see what you mean because he didn't play for the first team until his return to Barcelona.
Can you do an all time list
Day 3: You should make a video about Kardemir Karabükspor 🇹🇷 (they've won 5 games in the past 6 seasons)
If you were.going to mention West Hams World Cup winners and the likes of Barmby at Spurs can’t see how you could not mention Lineker Shilton and Banks at the old Filberts.
Middlesbrough and Charlton’s must be up there for championship
Chelsea let go of Jamal Musiala too 😭😭😭
what is happening at Furth????
Best German players in the premier league of all time. (Day 390)
I will not give up until the video is made or Alfie himself tells me to stop. Everyone else telling me that will be ignored.
If you don't believe my number, just go back to the previous videos. I'm at the bottom most of the time, but I'm there.
Make a video 📹 about the best young English players
We all know who's will be the first before watching the video, right?
Man Utd over arsenal based on current academy is crazy
Harvey Elliott was not mentioned
Top 3 should
1 Chelsea
2 arsenal
3 man u
The Charltons came though Leeds and Manchester United's academies, not Newcastle.
Personally I would have arsenal higher but otherwise it seems a fair list. Chelsea definitely win it
Billy gilmour didn't come through the Chelsea youth ranks
He joined Chelsea when he was 15 from Rangers
@@athishujmao2654 technically he moved to Chelsea on his 16th birthday for half a million, so technically it still.stands, he went through the rangers academy and joined Chelsea and moved into the under 18 and reserve team before going out on loan with Norwich then Brighton, so ny point stands, he didn't go through Chelsea youth
Liverpool poached Sterling from QPR, no?
