Fixing A GoPro Battery Pull Tab

I used dental floss tied around the battery, it wont bulge the lid when u close it since the thread is quite thin and strong, just make sure the end of the string (floss)at the top of the battery doesnt get trapped by the lid’s water rubber seal/gasket when you close it to avoid compromising the waterproof feature.

Has GoPro addressed this design flaw or is it a gimmick to sell more?

From what I've read, the issue has been around for a while, but I wouldn't say it is a gimmick to sell more batteries either. I think it's just an issue that GoPro has failed to address because they think their design is too good to be flawed.
