This video was sooooo helpful. I love birthday boards but don't always find exactly what I want to purchase, and now I think I can make my own!!! I also like the speed of the video. THANKS!!
A very simple, thorough and helpful tutorial! Thanks! FYI: I was able to do a chalkboard poster using MS Publisher as well as Word. Once completed, I saved the draft on Publisher, saved it as a PDF and sent it out to Office Max for printing. Office Max/Depot can print the poster in a variety of sizes and make any adjustments as needed. My chalkboard posters came out beautifully. Thanks again!
Tracey, awesome chalkboard tutorials. Do you use a cutting machine? If you do, can you pls provide some guidance on how to make a chalkboard with the cricut.
hi, following ur video's these are very helpful .just 2 things would like to know (a) How can we make it printable in bigger format. (b)how can we get more symbols, you have alreday suggested "KG flavour and frames " if u please refer few more. thanks
a. Not sure how to answer that, what do you mean by bigger? I've printed on the largest posters at Costco..... b. Do a search for the symbols you're looking for...there are a number of doodle fonts as well, frame, and many others...look at my latest colored chalk board poster video and there are a number of other symbol fonts
do you have to change the size of the document when you are creating it to make into 1 16x20 poster? wouldnt it make it blurry if you create regular A4 size and than stretch it out on 16x20?? thank you
I think the size I normally do is 16x20....BUT...when you upload it, before you get it printed, it will warn you if the image will show up blurry. If you are paranoid....like I was the first time I did it, you can always upload the image, save it then call whatever store you are getting it printed and they will tell you if it will be blurry....I've never had a problem, but I usually use photoshop and only use Word for poster printing occasionally. I have printed posters in MS word and it does work great and the images have never been blurry.
Tracey Hull yes i am paranoid lol i started my poster last night and than caught myself thinking that i started as a normal A4 size and thought i would have to start over with a custom size. thank you very much, your video is very helpful. Thanx to your video I am trying to make a poster for my sons first birthday thats coming up in a month :-) thank you very much! I am very grateful for your videos and gladly subscribed to your channel!
No no, you just walk through the tutorial in MS Word as is....I cant remember the size I made but I think it was 16x20. If you're paranoid like I am...do a quick test. Whatever you have done, either .jpg it (next tutorial) or .pdf it for OfficeMax and upload what you have. Once uploaded, call the vendor and ask if it will print clear before you pay/order, they can tell you if it will be blurry! I called probably 10 times the first time I made mine...ha ha ha! Also I believe with both vendors (I know costco for sure) it will give you a warning if your poster will print blurry. Are you doing it through Costco or OfficeMax? If it's OfficeMax, it WILL print great, the dicey part is changing it to .jpg for Costco, but I haven't had any issues, I still call to verify it will print clear but I'm a perfectionist :)
I get them from dafont, fontspace, and a few others...take a look at: Searching fonts, installing fonts and using symbols ua-cam.com/video/2wkyPCkJaAE/v-deo.html That will walk you though searching for the fonts (google) and installing them.
hi tracey i just did my first ever chalk board following your video and it came out awesome, the only question i have is what size paper layout do you use or have your ms default on. i didn't realize when i uploaded my image to be printed at costco that there was a white boarder around the imagin, first timer! lol
I've not found a way to get around that white border...even when I create posters in Photoshop and Illustrator...if you print at Costco or OfficeMax, you just need to live with the border or cut it yourself....sorry....
@@traceyhull4221 How can I upload the Word Document? It is not allowing me because I saved it as a word doc. Am I doing something wrong? I can not even find it as an option to upload when I browse. PLEASE HELP!! Thank you.
Love that you go quickly and speak so clearly and quick!

Thanks for the tutorial, did you make a downloadable file with all these fonts in it by chance, or should I just search for each one individually?

wondering if you can add images to this?
Yes! Very easily, watch nearly any of my other videos to learn how to add an image...I'll add another video adding a picture with a border.
Please, can anybody teach me how to insert the banner? I couldn't find her video about the symbols😢😭
