Dude, the 4.6k G2 is a beast. I love mine. It really gives you that heavy flowy handheld look. Also has a softer - more pleasing image.
No shame at all in buying used gear, i wish more people were advocate for buying used gear. Especially cinema cameras that need to be built out, buying them new only gets you the body so to me it makes more sense to buy used with all the accessories you need. And clients wont care if your gear is brand new or second hand
1,000% honestly, I was against buying used gear in the past due to potential risks, but if you do your due-dilligence, and even if your cash loaded and can buy new gear. It's really a no-brainer when you come across good pieces of kit and pocket the savings to invest elsewhere on gear or yourself
Extremely good deal! I just bought one myself to compliment my pocket 6K and 4K. Same price but without the cards, batteries, and lenses, so that's insane to me. Nice one!
that's awesome! glad there are so many good deals out there!
That's a great deal. I also got a good deal on a "open box" Ursa Mini Pro 4.6K G2 that included the Davinci Resolve and a B4 mount. Since the camera was brand new, I also got a one year waranty. Used gear is the way to go as far as I'm concerned but this was an exception as it was bassically a brand new camera. You made the right choice by the way. The new BM cameras are impressive but expensive.
That's fantastic, included DR is always a great reason to buy. you're very right and good to know I picked up a good one!
Great deal!! Also congrats for the win at the festival!! I can wait to see the movie!!
Thanks mate! Can't wait to share the film with you!
That’s a pretty good deal
Cheers! I thought so!
great system,, well bought!!! To be honest--right now about 75% of my gear is used,,I have been very careful and picky picking stuff up-- So sad,, but Covid broke many film maker/ creator dreams..and the fall out was a flood of great gear with low miles.. I felt like a vulture some times,,but a well equipped vulture to be sure!!
as they say, one mans trash is another mans treasure. got to treat yourself sometimes
You got a crazy-good deal! The UMP 4.6k is an amazing camera if you're after a cinematic look, and the EVF alone is hands down one of the best EVFs on the market. The value of your kit (IMO) way beyond what you paid. 🙂
Dude, I love the talking heads setup, you created here! Especially the exposure and lighting for your face, the colours, very well shot! The 4:3 aspect ratio fits it well, too :) whish you fun and success with your filmmaking journey! Cheers
Cheers mate! I've gone through so many a-roll setups over the years it's always good fun creating them. best of luck to you too!
Insane deal. Great video brother!
Thanks bro!
Great deal and congrats! Still love my G2 three years after purchasing a pre-owned kit similar to yours! Not as good a price as you though haha. Nothing comes close to it in terms of having everything you need built-in, while being insanely durable (A TANK), easy to use, and producing gorgeous images. Sheesh, what a phenomenal and slept on camera. Visually it doesn't seem to me that the Pyxis is quite as heavy duty as the URSA G2. Idk, maybe it's an illusion. Anyway, great choice and huge congrats!
Cheers mate, now I just need to go out and make more movies and films! It's such a beast of a camera and surprisingly compact, your so right though, everything built in makes it a damn good dream. I haven't tapped into 1% of it yet, but I can't wait when I do!
I just bought a very similar package for about 4000€! I also wanted a more robust solution than the P6K FF (even for 1500€), since I already have a rigged up P4K and a Canon R5.
Differences in the package:
- No lenses (I have a ton of EF full frame glass)
- One less CF-card
- One less V-mount
- 7" SDI monitor included with necessary cables
- Tripod quick attachment plate included
- 15mm rods included
- PL + EF Mounts included
- SmallRig top and side plates included
Good deals all around! And I have to note that the 50% off the URSA is not showing at Finnish retailers where I'm at.
Damn that's a great package too! I'm definitely missing out on an SDI monitor I might have to pickup shortly, and having the PL mount on your end too is a great catch! Hope you've been enjoying using the Ursa so far!
@@DesignedbyKirk I've been impressed thus far! The only worry for some applications is the moire issue. It has shown itself in some city test footage and I know it will do a jump scare in interviews as well. Might have to shell out some extra for the Rawlite OLPF.
I'm still using the g2 as my main camera even after picking up the bmcc6k FF .
That’s awesome!
What a steal!!!!
Glad I got it!
Good deal sir i wouldnt have passed that up either
Congratulations!! I managed to grab a very similar kit for 2.200€ here in Germany, without lenses though. So far the camera has served me very well and I also love he colors and motion rendition!
The only issue I have is a noisy/rattling fan, which is only audible while the camera is on the shoulder. But then it's quiet annoying, haha.
Do you encounter a similar problem?
That's an awesome deal as well! hope you do some incredible things with it!
I have no noisy / rattling fan problem at all. Given it's a 2nd hand camera I really do recommend getting in serviced by an authorised Blackmagic partner. They'll do things like clear out the fan system from dust and all. might solve the problem!
@@DesignedbyKirk Awesome, thanks a lot 👍
incredible deal!
Wow..Great deal!!!
Phew!
Color grading is 🔥🔥🔥
cheers mate!
Wow!! That's an incredible deal!
used gear ftw!
Wow, how did you catch that deal? Definitely a steal
tonnes of ebay scrolling I must say!
The 3 wise man, is this "le fossoyeur de films" in it at 01:15 ?
Sure is!
Amazing deal
sweeeet
Thats an absolute steal
Good good!
GOOD MOVE
phew!
m8 wtf, why aren't these getting the numbers they should
im actually astonished
idk if its the tags or the upload time or the algorithm but we need to "get those numbers uuuuup"
haha the great algorithm mystery. But in general not much of my stuff gets much reach these days
That's a really good deal
Glad you think so!
I'm thinking about buying this new since it's 50% off. I am curious if you could answer a few questions:
1. Does it only have gen 4 color science? Or has there been an update to gen 5?
2. Is it pretty light or relatively easy to run and gun with just a lens and battery?
3. Is the max iso 3200?
Great video, thinking about getting one to pair with the pocket 4ks
All cameras can get gen 4 and gen 5 colours. Gen 4 and Gen 5 don’t really matter though when you are using colourspace transforms.
It’s raw after all.
1. Can easily switch to Gen 5 in DR
2. Surprisingly yes! I ain't a strong dude, but with the flip out screen it's surprisingly usable this way
3. Yes it is!
Good deal at the 50% off for sure, great pair up with the pockets
@@DesignedbyKirk thanks for the reply!
I just picked up a g1 ursa for $1100 usd
Bargain!
@@DesignedbyKirk not as many extras but I love it
Great choice!
Nice video 🎉 what’s the name of the bag ? Thx😊
Cheers! It's an e-image camera bag, has wheels and operates similarly to a suit case, not sure the model name
He is an Avid Blackmagic user.
I am a Resolve Blackmagic user.
(video dad joke)
thought we wouldn't notice, but we did.
@@DesignedbyKirk thou shalt not pass!
Is this SDTV from the 90's why is this 4:3?
I filmed this in May 1993
Tbh I think the only extra cost if you were to go minimal would have been L to EF a doctor a np to v mount adapter and adding miscellaneous things I think it would be about $1000 extra those are freedom dollars😂😂
But still not a bad choice it’s an awesome camera and gets the shot which is the most important thing
Yeah I found I gotta accumulate a bit to get it for my workflow. ND’s, a monitor all that stuff ha! We’ll see how the URSA goes
Whoa!!!
👊🏼
is it a good camera
If you know how to use it it Make The job. Like any camera
100%
Let’s go
LFG
How many "cinema camera" buyers have actually produced anything to justify their purchases? Let's be honest, most if not all of these buyers are hobbyists and will remain as such. True cinematographers never buy cameras, they rent them, they rent lenses and all associated gear. It is worth saying that even a mediocre camcorder in the hands of talented individual can produce great feature films, as it is the story telling, an actor play and lighting/sound that matter the most, not the camera itself.
The people that need to buy tools to fuel their careers. Nothing wrong with buying gear to make your stuff. Nothing wrong with not doing that either.
After purchasing my Ursa 12K last year, I’ve already shot an experimental performance art piece, a pilot, a short film, and a feature. In pre-pro for another short at the moment. The pocket 4k I bought at launch has shot so much in the years I’ve owned it, and the 6k pro I added last year has been no slouch’s either. I currently sit in a pocket where I book the higher budget Alexa jobs less often, so owning the Blackmagic cinema cams has more than paid off.

You win!
