  • Demo of a Steinberg Synapse guitar. Awesome action and easy to play, no matter the style. Enjoi
    ST-2FPA: Play it open and it's a baritone, roll the built-in capo up a couple of frets and it's a normal 25-1/2" guitar. Continue rolling the capo up the neck and... well... it's just about anything! Designed by Ned Steinberger, the Synapse guitar is a HYBRID instrument combining the strength, rigidity and clarity of graphite with the warmth and beauty of wood. At the heart of every Synapse is our Cybrosonic™ neck featuring our patented graphite U-channel with adjustable truss rod uniquely crafted into a 3-piece, hard maple neck. We then add a smooth and durable phenolic fingerboard and a neck-thru body design to create an instrument with distinctive tonal clarity, sustain, "pop" and response as well as ultimate stability!
    Add to that, a proprietary piezo-equipped bridge with 1-piece aluminum saddle combined with low-impedance EMG USA humbuckers and you've got an instrument with infinite tonal possibilities and increased frequency response. Isolate the piezo bridge to get simmering acoustic-like tones. Turn up the EMG's and you've got classic, high-output humbuckers -- from clean to super crunchy. Combine the two pickup systems and let your imagination run wild.
    Other features include a zero-fret for improved intonation, the new Steinberger Combo headpiece to allow for the use of DoubleBall™ and single ball strings and our patented Direct-Drive double-ball bridge with 40:1 tuners for tuning ease, accuracy and stability that only a Steinberger can provide. With Steinberger, you can change strings in seconds, tune up once and not have to tune again until you change strings again.
    Provided with a premium, padded gigbag, the Synapse also makes a great travel instrument measuring only 35" in length and capable of fitting into the tightest of places including overhead airplane bins. The result is a guitar of unequalled performance, comfort and flexibility. Steinberger - State of the Instrument.

    My piezo pickup mixer is in a different place. It's next to the volume knob. Are you sure that's where it is?

    i don't bother with the special string, just use regular string; tighten the screws at the top, clip the end, voila!

    made in Korea and owned by Gibson. They are cheap for what you get. Lou Reed plays one and David Bowie plays one too. I love the baritone neck with the sliding capo. I don't know of any other guitar that can do this. The cheaper Spirit with the non active pups is only £200 odd. I got one to play around the house and now I'm gigging with it :-)

    the kickstand is so you can balance it better when playing whilst sitting down, so it actually might come in handy. but yeah the dots are the main reason im hesitant to buy one

    Awesome playin' and all... but, can you show some distorted stuff with it next time? Just a suggestion...

      I think he had it between his pinky and his ring finger. Notice how he doesn't use his pinky when playing finger picking.

    What do you think of the neck width? Wide necks bother my wrists after a while. Now I have a strat which is good for the wrist, but I like the Synapse a lot.

    One last thing: the tuning. Should tuned D, G, C, F, A, D, with the open strings?

    Right... that would make more sense. I just got an adapter to do the same on my Steinberger licensed Hohner headless.

    I don't get why the dot positioning seems to put people off. I have guitars without dots at all. Once you've been playing a while you just know by feel where the frets are. I don't think the people put off could play a fretless Fender precision with no dot markers let alone a double bass. Violinists and Cellists do okay too. Its just natural instinct or becomes so.

      It's the double dots that indicate the octave that throw me off.

      @@harmono8766 Not sure what you're used to playing on. Double dots on the 12th fret are standard on pretty much every guitar ever.

    Thanks for your explanation. What´s about the strings, the size..? are the same size for a standard guitar..?

    I know that a the design of a guitars body does little the to the overall tone of the guitar, however the connection that people share with a guitar that they legitimitely attracted to is what generaly inspires them to progress as musicians. My first guitar is basically the main reason i realy started getting into guitar and its due to the fact that the second i saw it i was unbeleivably drawn to it, i have been playing it for 7 years and i love it more than ever. THIS thing is just UGLY as hell

    hmcg020 - I agree with you that there's something particular about a guitar we are ale drawn to, sort of like women I guess. Some like long legs and others like you know what.
    I just ordered one of those beauties (custom blue) which tells me that you prefer your women chunky whereas I like them pretty and slender! LOL Vive la difference, right?

    I'm thinking about picking up a Synapse TranScale. Is it difficult to find strings for this guitar? (Thanks)

    • @harmono8766
      @harmono8766 6 років тому

      Yes sort of. But you can use regular strings on it. It has a locking system at the nut, so it works like a locking nut. If you use 10's or thinner, you might need to put a wad of tin foil in there to keep the string from slipping. I don't cut my 10 E string in case it slips, I can pull it back.

    • @NGS2410
      @NGS2410 5 років тому

      No, because you can use normal strings too.
