  • This program was conceived as a promotional vehicle for Steinberger Sound and was distributed to all of the Steinberger dealers at the time. It features discussions and demos with artists like Rick Derringer, Arlen Roth, Vinnie Zummo and others, as well in-depth interview segments with Ned on design, feature and performance aspects of his instruments. A highlight is a detailed demo on how to set up a TransTrem from Ned himself.

It's a real shame that the trans trem system isn't made any more. It was way ahead of its time. Am also going to be getting my first steinberger guitar a gt pro in black. Admittedly it isnt the real composite version but am really looking forward to it arriving.

The best locking trem ever designed, and it really did lock. Being amp to lock at different tunings instantly was a gamechanger.

Even just the transtrem to put on stuff I know they're finicky but there's not even a knockoff.

He sold the company to Gibson. Don’t think he has any say in it anymore.

Buck Dharma of Blue Oyster Cult uses a Steinberger as his #1 guitar for live performance... anyone else doing that in 2024?!

@@ernieflanaganstingraybassm1463 what maintenance have you had to do? It’s so rare that someone plays one today, a carbon fibre original I mean. Has the paint worn off? How are the frets? How’s the term?

The steinberger spirit is very bad quality control now with the Gibson brand , I have a 5 string and the volume controls give you nothing till they are nearly full on , the frets are badly put in , I had to totally get it sorted

The biggest problem with these is that they are a one-trick pony. They sound good only on heavy hard rock tunes. Try to play quietly or jazzy and "there isn't any 'there' there". I can testify to that. I bought one in about the year 2000... then promptly forgot about it. It's been sitting in my closet ever since then. It still has most of the original "instructional sticker" from the factory on it. I just happened to find it a couple of days ago... It's going onto eBay soon to fund a couple of more relevant (to me) musical items. These are one of those things that look good on paper, but fall flat in the real world.
