I finished installing my micro locs today 😊 I’ve wanted locs for a while but your videos really inspired me to just go ahead and start the journey. I’m super excited!
You can use the tiny colorful, cloth covered hair ties. They sell'em at the beauty supply store. SIDENOTE: Try mixing the shampoo with water inside of a spray bottle, that way you have better control over cleansing your scalp.
Your locs are GOALS! I started DIY microlocs 3 weeks ago and yesterday was my first wash. That Shea Moisture low Porosity Shampoo and conditioner Was my rock as a loose natural. So for my first wash as a loc'd natural I combined it with both Dr Bonners Lavender AND Dr Bonners Peppermint, I diluted it with water. In an old Jamaican Lime Loc Oil bottle I tell you for my hair type that was The GOAT wash day product.
Do you think the braiding and banding is slowing down your locing process? I know you should braid and band the first few months to prevent unraveling but at 1 year do you still need to do so?
Same as mini braids.Except for it's kept in to lock up. Also a method is applied. To keep the roots especially and other hairs neat. While mini braids are took down. Sometimes kept in for 6 months.
If you use a less than a dime amount of natural conditioner ( like Shea Moisture)diluted in about about 4ouces water, then rinse it thoroughly, It will be fine. I have 4C Sisterlocks and I do this. I never bought into the idea of not putting conditioner in my hair because some people that have Sisterlocks locks have had their locks break off in about 3 years and I believe that it is because they put nothing on their scalp and hair. I also reused a tiny eye dropper and put jojoba oil mixed with tea tree oil in it. Every week leading up to a new wash, I clean my scalp with witch hazel and I section my hair in 4 sections and massage the tiniest drop in each of the four sections of my scalp because when I would excercise the salt in my sweat would literally burn my scalp. I had to do what was best for my scalp. My Sisterlocks are strong AND soft.
@@CinemaDoll137 no it’s not dry😌 it depends on your hair. Most of my moisture comes from daily water spritz with a small amount of oil. Since I’ve bleached them I do what a previous comment said with a dime size of conditioner mixed with water. It’s really 1 part of your regimen that you need to prevent breakage, your daily methods are a big factor too
Your hair is so beautiful. I've been researching sisterlocs for a while and I've noticed your hair has a different texture. I wonder will mine look like your on the end. Love your video's 🥰🥰
Are you not supposed to use conditioner with microlocks? I started mine 2 weeks ago and plan on washing at week 3 but my hair will drive out if I don't use a conditioner so I wasn't sure.
Hi.I'm just researching microlocs before I start mine. Do you use a leave in conditioner or moisturizer etc after washing? And I saw you said in other videos that you use oils is that in the scalp and on the hair
Hey love. I’ve been watching since the beginning. But remind me what point rotation you use. I have micro locs and I’m using 2 point since my hair isn’t that dense. Most people do 4 point. But I’m testing both out to see what works for my hair. So I was just curious

My heart dropped when you let yo hair down. You’re incredibly gorgeous 💜
I use the same technique when washing my hair, love how it keeps the hair stretched and less knots and tangles
CurlyGirlLife yessss 💓

I don’t think it’s slowing down the locking process. I mainly do it to prevent excessive swelling✨
How long do you keep your hair braided up, after you wash your hair? Thank you in advance
Juanita Hall Some days I keep the braids in until it dries, and sometimes I take them down while my hair is still damp.

So you no longer need conditioner? Will it loosen the locs?
Kandace Unique conditioner will cause buildup in locs. It basically gets trapped inside them and you can’t completely rinse it like loose hair 😬

I’ve never used conditioner on my journey so far. I usually just “moisturize” with my water and rosemary oil mixture.
@@TyKaraAnn thank you!

Why is it important to not braid till the very end of the hair
Chahine Kondoh So I won’t cause any unnecessary breakage when taking the braids out!

Hi, I’m on a 4 point rotation
Wow, so gorgeous. What point rotation do you use?
Sanni Oluwatoyin Yetunde Thank you! I use the 4 point rotation✨
Love it. How often do you wash your hair?
Once a week
Dumb question: I do not have locks but I love your personality. Why do braid up your locks instead of washing them like you would normal hair?
Hi your lox’s are absolutely amazing. Does your mother do other people’s hair? I am ready to do mines.😍
Thanks! She does not do other people’s locs
This is a great idea
You have gorgeous, lion mane locks. It still looks like loose natural hair. Your momma has skills!
😍Lip color...#ANNWEOUT
How do you tame the frizziness after washing your hair?
I don't, I just let the frizz be✨
Gorgeous hair & beautiful 😍 person
Thank you!!
Why can’t you use creamy shampoo?
No conditioner?
I know nothing about locs btw
From my understanding, creamy shampoos + conditioners help cause build up.
Do you deep condition?
I do not
