    I admire this so much! I’m not a barber/hairdresser but I’ve cut my own hair for 10-12 years. My “technique” is much more random and haphazard but I generally get the results I want…while wishing I had the mad skills of a superior craftsman!

      If you can cut your own hair then you’re a pretty good barber! It’s extremely difficult to cut your own! Thanks for the kind words!

    Thanks for posting. I'm in barber school rn. I'll definitely practice this sectioning.
    Why didn't you start at the apex instead of the back? Is it a preference?

      Hi mate! Really appreciate your comment.
      I've just released another tutorial this evening that is quite similar to this one.
      I start anywhere i feel comfortable on the head, you can start at the Apex, Front or back, its up to you.
      i would suggest starting at the Apex when you're first getting to grips with scissor cutting.

    What was the cutting lotion you used at the beginning? I need to incorporate this method. Thanks 🙏🏽

    • @Cmcbarber
      @Cmcbarber  10 місяців тому +1

      I think the lotion used in this Video was a curl cream, "Ouidad" Curl activator

      @RyanAlca 10 місяців тому

      @@Cmcbarber oh ok curl activator? Does that keep the hair damp longer?

    • @Cmcbarber
      @Cmcbarber  10 місяців тому +1

      @@RyanAlca yep, any lotion, conditioner, wet product will keep the hair hydrated and make sectioning the hair 100x easier!

    How long would this cut take you on average when your working in the shop?

    • @Cmcbarber
      @Cmcbarber  8 місяців тому +1

      I would say an average cut for myself is 35 minutes. I do have a scissor cut specific time slot available at 45 minutes - but generally can get it done in 35

    • @Cmcbarber
      @Cmcbarber  8 місяців тому

      How about yourself - do you find you have a lot of scissor work coming through the door?

    • @lebarberian
      @lebarberian 8 місяців тому

      @@Cmcbarber alot of tapering and fading, but I can really enjoy myself a scissor cut.

      @@Cmcbarber 35 min is fast with all the sectioning and preparing. Awesome!

    • @Cmcbarber
      @Cmcbarber  8 місяців тому

      @@lebarberian Sounds similar to where we are! We're outnumbered with skinfades. I'm trying to influence more scissor work into our shop, as that seems to be where the general trend is heading. 35 mins is quite fast for a scissor cut, although once you have sectioning and head mapping down to a T then it becomes super easy.
