Hello I am a retired NYC firefighter. I was injured after 9/11/01 and had to leave the job in 2005. I've decided to do a few tings in my forced retirement and building my own watches is something I would find great pleasure in doing so I am going to attempt to do it. I succeeded to reassemble an NH35 with your vid! I dropped the watch and it stopped working. Turned out to be a misaligned jewel on the pallet fork. I made it straight again and finished the job...and it works!
I've watched your video 100 times, and still was able to break the staff from the escapement wheel when placing the main bridge. And you make it look so simple! Good job!
I have several timepieces with this movement, reliable workhorses, no wonder they are so popular with the value for money watch companies - also a mention to the Miyota movements used in similar grade watches - very dependable.
I got my first automatic watch recently with this movement. The watch is considered budget, but it is really well made and i feel assured with the reliability and idiot proof features of this movement!
I just ordered a Bliger with this movement in it so I was curious to see it in detail. Most reviews I’ve read about this movement were positive so I thought I’d give it a shot.
These movements are fantastic. If you are into this hobby, you can definitely regulate them much more accurately than Seiko's published tolerances. You can usually get a new one to within 2 to 5 seconds per day with some tweaking.

You know, there some people who knock on Invicta watches and they use the nh35 movement which has been proven to be more accurate in timekeeping than Rolex. I think this Japanese movement is excellent.
It’s not the movement for the reason people put down Invicta. They just have turned themselves into a company that just sells the cheapest of parts and no warranty to speak of. They could do a lot of things to make their watches better but they are to cheap and most of their customers don’t care if they use the cheapest parts they can get. For them to sell a watch for 125 dollars tells us that they might have 40 dollars all in for everything. That’s why I think you can get a really well built watch for around 299 for a diver and 399 for a good GMT with a nh34 movement.
Hello, I have one NH35 movement, initially it can be wind manually for a few turns and now it cannot wind manually, do you know the main reason, is it because gear misalign or missing/misplaced, thanks in advance
I bought a Maratac LSA Homage watch that is said by the vendor to have a Seiko NH-35 movement, but it’s an automatic watch. In this video I didn’t see the weight that I understand is inside an automatic watch. Does that mean that the NH-35 comes in an automatic and a mechanical version?

At least the plastic gears are driving the calendar and not the main movement, sadly it will break if you attempt to change the date from 9pm-3am as the calendar adjustment is separate from the trigger gear.
Nice upload, but it looks as if Seiko are having financial issues with all of these plastic components. Yes, I understand that they are not in the power train so they're not under any great amount of force, but it looks cheap and I bet that in time they'll generate issues of plastic dust fouling the jewels.
