This is an excellent review. Containing all important information, demonstrating key modification features, all in a dense 7 minute Package with high video quality without any detail missed or repeating yourself. You are a hero!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you! very helpful. Just purchased the window version. Good to know all the features before the build begins !!! Excited
Excellent concise review, I subscribed.
I have it now for one month, white with window, and I am very happy with it. the airflow is great and it looks all so clean :)
Very nice review!
Thanks for sharing! Glad you liked the video
I have the black windowed version and I like it so much that I am thinking of buying a white one too for another build. It's one of the few cases out that I would buy twice.
Thanks for the very detailed review! I just went and bought this case and like you mentioned the build quality is top notch and the case looks great. Yes it's a bit pricey but definitely worth it.
Glad I could help!
Great review! Thank you
Awesome review, thank you.
Thanks for the review!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent review bro!
Much appreciated!
Great review, how does this stack up against the 700? I see the 700 is a bit smaller.
This review was helpful. Thanks for that. I am replacing my be quiet 700 due to my getting an rtx 3080 ti and that thing runs super hot, especially in that 700 case. It runs like 52c idle and was up to a whopping 86c when under load. I took off the front panel and was able to get it down to around 74c under load but I think having a vented top will definitely help. I'm waiting for my 802 to come in, I might even use some extra fans to put on the bottom to draw air in and up into the 3 in the front from the bottom bay..
I'm still using the 802. It's pretty awesome. Lots of room for big GPU's, HDD's and cooling.
It is an awesome case with great airflow for keeping the GPU and CPU cool. I have one with the mesh panels and run it with seven case fans and with a Noctua air cooler. It's actually very quiet with all those fans because it keeps everything cool while running them at low speeds.
Whats that led blue thing mounted blow graphics card?
Nice Video! But do i need a pwm Fan or is a normal Fan enought to controll IT with the Controller in the bag? That would Help me so much. Pls Tell me
can i change up the fan controller with a say, commander pro and still use the case switch on the top IO
I'm thinking of getting the new corsair rmx shift power supply with the cables coming out the side and wonder if there be enough room. I measured the gap from psu Bay edge to the foam of the side panel and it's 35mm. I think it's enough, just.
But wonder if someone else has done already.
I personally think BeQuiet opting to not include the drive bay covers in a build with no side window is a perfectly reasonable decision on their part.
I agree. They were there for looks and with no window why they need as you cannot see it. I got a used one and wondered why they were not there and if they forgot to give them to me until I find this that they are not included with solid non window side panel. I had wondered if airflow would be impacted as would hot spots form intake air flow get trapped on the back?? Since solid window version does not come with them I assume it makes 0 difference and they were only for looks so all good. Or I am sure they would have included them if it made airflow difference, but it must not. It's all just for looks in a window panel.
Solid panel is better for noise reduction anyways as it has sound dampening foam unlike window version which should drown out vibrations and coil whine. Will still use front mesh as front to back airflow where fans are is important at expense of a little more noise, but otherwise everything else sealed where no fans move any air for best noise normalized thermals.
@@Wolverine607 Hi Wolverine and cool answer, but let me tell you that you're wrong. The bay covers do have a huge impact on the air flow physics since they create turbulences both because of the holes themselves which have edges and because of different the trapped rear space. It's obvious that if you have an airflow through a closed tunnel, you're gonna get more pressure from the entrance right to the end of the tunnel. But if you put holes in that tunnel (same thing that they request with microwave food) then the air escapes and performs much, and i repeat, much worse. So it is a very serious failure from BeQuiet not to have included these bay covers in the not windowed versions in order to reduce costs (which is the real reason why they didn't do this), not giving the user the possibility to opt in or opt out to put those bay covers if they have them. Also there is another important drawback by not including those useful bay covers and it is not being able to use them for cable routing. All in all, it's a very poor and bad decision from BeQuiet, which, to demanding and observative users like me, are as important as not to make the decision of purchasing this case (not even the windowed since the only strength of the case is the dampening material). So, I can just congratulate BeQuiet for this terrible decision and thanks ECPU for pointing out this huge mistake before I had spent a lot of money in this case that I won't purchase now.
@@George.Gadgets "then the air escapes and performs much, and i repeat, much worse." any tests to prove this on this case or just theory?
Is this case supporting Corsair RMX shift PSU? Or better to go with classic ones?
The Be Quiet! Silent Base 802 case will easily accommodate any size Arctic Freezer II AIO. I have two. One with a 280mm and the other with a 360mm Arctic Freezer II AIO. There is plenty of room between the top of the motherboard and the underside of the radiator assembly of the Arctic Freezer II and the width will easily accommodate the 140mm fans.
Hi mate can you fit the 280 Arctic Freezer II at the top of the case? im thinking about getting this case
@@Bir7hdayCake You sure can.
I've been researching this case myself and I am almost ready to purchase it, great review ECPU 😎
One important question tho... is there enough room to mount a 3090 directly to the mother board?
Thanks for sharing 👍
According to Nvidia, a 3090 FE is 313mm (12.3") long and requires 3 slots, so it should fit in the top PCI-E slot of your motherboard as long as you don't have any optional drive cages installed in the bottom two bays of the case.
@@ECPUz That was what I was hoping for - who fills up all their drive bays anyway. Thanks for replying 😍
No prob! Happy PC building
I know you probably wont see this but when i turn on my new build everything works except the 3 pre installed ones, any solution?
Anyone know where to find the drive bay covers online?
Would you ever review prebuilts like the VRLA Rogue or NZXT starter pc?
I've always focused on the DIY side but I suppose I could also review pre-built systems as well. I'll look into that.
I would like to know two things about that sound-insulating foam. Is it efficient? Do you have comparison with other ,,silent cases" ? For some reason other manufacturers don't use such foam and I suspect, it gets warmer and warmer with longer loads and so do components affected by that. Did you notice something like this?
Unfortunately I don't have any other results to compare it to, so it's difficult to say. I would think that it would trap-in at least some heat, but the temperature tests seem fine under heavy load so I don't think thermals are an issue for this case overall.
@@ECPUz Thank you for an answer : ) Is it your private case or only for testing purposes?
Крутой корпус! И цена адекватная!
Are the fans it comes with any good? I want to add some more but Pure Wings seem to be bottom of the barrel fans, if they're trash I may as well replace all of them.
They are Silent Wings 3, so yes, its like a lot better than the Pure Wings lol
Hi! 6:34 bottom legs, are Included? or you must buy It separately? thanks
Included
@@ECPUz thanks 🙏
lol
If I’m just playing games is it quiet with the mesh?
Yes it is because you can set the fans to low speeds and still keep things very cool. Great airflow!
Please compare it to the Phanteks G500A.
hey would you happen to have discord or anything we could talk on ? There’s something I need help with on my pc since I’m new to this because I have the b550m aorus pro-p but my ssd once it’s in and I put the black thing on top of it to screw it in the screw does not fit anymore and there’s also a screw next to the ssd but I feel like thats what keeping me from screwing it in btw it’s nvme ssd thanks or even if you could drop your email and I’ll send a photo.
What’s max Gpu size?
Great, concise review!
One question: If you want to mount a 140 on the bottom, does that just go on top of the PSU shroud? I doubt this is as effective as a bottom fan.
mounting a 140 on the bottom could be done either on top or below the PSU shroud, but it would be difficult on top because there's very little room for tools to tighten the screws from beneath. Mounting the fan below gives you lots of room above to get the screws tightened, but the fan will take up the space needed for the dual 3.5" drive cage.
Why do they only ship the plastic bay drives covers with the windowed version???
the drive covers are for aesthetics, but since this version has no window then you cant see anything anyway
@@George.Gadgets It doesn't have airflow impact. most of the air that enters a case from the front, is sucked in by the cpu and gpu for cooling, and then heat coming from the cpu and gpu is sucked out by the rear exhaust fan. You wasted time and money returning that case. This is why they ignored you when you emailed them.
Those covers are just for aesthetics. When you have a tempered glass panel, they have to include those panels because the interior of the case is always visible and it would look really ugly without those covers. But when you have the solid panel version, its literally a waste of money for them to include them.
Can you replace the two front fans?
of course
Yes, and I installed 3x Noctua Chromax 140mm fans there. They are actually overkill and two fans should be plenty there.
Good case BUT... it comes with Pure Wings 2 which are 3 pin fans, and are NOT bequiet's quietest fans. The Silent Wings 4 are the quietest, and are 4 pins so this case's connection module is 3 pins for all fans which doesn't allow to upgrade to the 4 pin fans. 4 pin fans on 3 pin connectors lose the PWM function. I tried to get an upgraded module but got no response from bequiet.
The Hub is PWM to the motherboard. You don't need 4 pins fans cos u connect your 3 pins fans to a PWM module that u can connect in PWM to the motherboard then all fans speed will be adjusted (according to the temperaure) at the same time by the motherboard through the module.
@-sciroccu4820 you are right, but that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that as is, this case doesn't allow for 4 pin fans, which are the quieter ones. I called their tech support, and they acknowledged this.
👍@@MonsterFlipsUSA I understand now. Though the silent wings 4 also exist in 3 pins versions (120 or 140mm) that u could, I suppose, connect to the 3 pins hub for a good silence too in the case (better than the Pure wings 2 that are preinstalled for sure).

нихуя не понятно , но очень интерестно !
3 pin fan hub must be a joke for the price tag.really a disappointment.
Agreed it was bad thermally for me too I downgraded to the 500dx and it’s way better imo if you don’t need the dinosaur hard drive space
It's PWM to the motherboard. The hub is 3pin only to the fans because it adjusts the voltage on there instead of letting every fan report back its RPM which would confuse the motherboard.
I don't have an issue with it. I have 3x Noctua Chromax 140mm fans and 3x included Be Quiet 140mm fans hooked to it and run them on low all the time. The temps are always very low even when stressing the CPU and GPU, there is no need for any other speed other than low with this many fans and using the mesh panels. My rear fan is a Noctua PWM plugged into the mobo. Quiet, cool, and beautiful is my best description of this case. From what I have seen of comparisons, when using the mesh panels, temps are very similar to the 500dx.
@@Wigglythegreat2 dc respectively 3 pin is outdated.
@@hubihh6463 I understand what you are saying and am all for having a more current updated controller. If it's any consolation I have the 3x included 3 pin Be Quiet fans along with 3x Noctua 4 pin fans all to that controller and they all work together fine. I figured I might as well buy 4 pin fans as I might want to use that feature in the future. For now I am simply using the speed controls on the case as a manual control so I'm not doing any fan control in software or bios.
With six fans running from the controller there is nothing more I need to do other than set them all to the lowest speed as that is all that is required for my use. I do understand that may not work for other's needs. I also have a rear exhaust fan hooked to my motherboard which is PWM and does what it does separately. So that totals seven case fans not including my Noctua cooler with two fans on it for my i7. My GPU is a GTX 3060. Gaming or whatever I choose to do cannot produce more heat than all these fans can handle even when the controller is always set to low. If I had a beefier CPU and GPU that might change, but with my setup it's well into overkill with headroom.
I do know that there is also a cable from the controller to connect to the motherboard for PWM, but I have no experience using that as of yet.
