1:21:00 there is no fall damage anywhere in Skyhold and it's ongoing fandom joke that lasted for years, people usually talk to Leliana at the top of rotunda than jump over the railing all the way down straight to Solas's table! it's a thing you have to do it, it's like initiation 🤣
seeing Alistair is so special to me every time even after all these years 🥲🥲🥲 especially hearing him speak about Hero like this as well. he was my first Dragon Age romance too and probably the most wholesome one :)
22:15 Spirits don't often get to chose.. maybe in some ideal conditions, I think in this case Solas was more talking to Cole and how he has a choice.. just like people, because he's not currpuoted yet. As for other spirits, especially those that go through the breach.. often they are twisted and corrupted my unnatural process itself. others pass though uncorrupted but than get corrupted my evil and human nature in the world, depending on who and what they run into.. so it's complex. Solas did mention in one of earlier conversations many spirits are fragile and don't always survive entering this world... Solas and Cole have so many fascinating dialogues together :) I'm also so glad you had Cole here to get that dialogue with Spirit of Command and him. many miss it and this is where you find out he's a spirit of Compassion :)
I knew that the meeting with Alistair would be a rollercoaster of emotions, and I was not disappointed. 🤗 1:10:27 based on your reaction I assume you didn't know: Fiona is one of the main characters in the novel _Dragon Age: The Calling_ , which contains her adventures as Grey Warden; Alistair is partly involved in the final part of the novel, so you might be interested in reading it
Love seeing warden!Alistair, though I think I will always prefer hardened king!Alistair. Man, I really have forgotten just how many quests this game has, I was worried I put too many in the guide for you but no, I skipped like over half of the quests I'm sure lolol. I love cullen so much! ugh! he is my husband! i just wanna squish his cheekies and give him all the little kisses and huggies he deserves! I love imagining my inquisitor stealing that maned mantle of his and being swamped by it because it looks so huge lolol and my elf inky is tiny. I know there are people who dont like that cullen was retconned as much as he was, but personally i think his character arc makes sense. He was a good templar and a good man before what happened in the fereldan circle, then he got tortured and became distrustful of mages, which understandable though not excusable. And then he was placed under the worst knight-commander someone traumatised by magic and mages could be, his fear and distrust encouraged, and yet at the very end he broke away from that and now he wants to start anew and do better and gosh i love him so so much. In my canon run, I was torn between romancing cullen and solas, and like you, i was very turned off by solas saying the fade kiss was a mistake. Eventually Solas started to feel very mentor like figure to my inquisitor which was a vibe I didnt rock with and so I ended up breaking things off with him and committed fully to Cullen. But in my canon, Inky will always be the one who got away from Solas (see this is why we dont say things like it was a mistake, clear and open communication is key and sexy! take notes romancable companions!)
Hardened King Alistair is my canon, but I do play with Warden Alistair because I love hanging out with him in Inquisition. "I need to change my name." Man, I love that silly cinnamon roll, lol. I'm the absolute same when it comes to Cullen. For me, his romance is chef's kiss.
I have said it before but watching Shen is just joyful to watch ..... your decision making is always thorough and thoughtful ... The Inquisition is safe under her leadership xo
22:31 Solas doesn't mean every spirit gets to choose, he means Cole specifically gets to choose because of his unique situation. 😊 45:48 It means you also embody Command like it does, not that you have a bit of spirit/the fade in you.
I love Blackwall! He is one of the best Dragon Age characters. He is grounded and complex, like the characters in Game of Thrones. He is so charming. I was torn between him and Cullen in my first playthrough.
15:10 The spell on your X button is your new fade rift skill, the focused based one :) you unlocked that during Corypheus quest so it was automatically slotted in there and replaced your chain lightning which is a bit annoying... you can go to your abilities at any time and put lightning back.. you can even unmap some old spells and add some new ones etc... you have to go to character menu where you level up, and than to tactics tab. you can learn many spells but you can only have 8 active/mapped to buttons so you use that tab to switch them out. you also set 8 active skills for companions in that tab.. it's important to decide which cuz they only use those 8 that you have set up for them. I do suggest keeping your new rift focus ability somewhere between among those 8 you have mapped cuz it's OP and useful :)
Quick question, I know you mentioned reasons why you haven't played Mass Effect 3 yet which are absolutely fair, but do you intend to play it eventually? Also Blackwall wasn't shouting at children, he was shouting at recruits while they were doing drills, Solas was making a joke about them being like children who need to learn.
1:10:27 Hmm? The gasp and then accusations of lying... Not sure if you connected the dots or not. Grand Enchanter Fiona is the same Fiona from The Calling (novel) and Asunder.

I didn’t enjoy the way that Gaider handled the Broodmother + female grey wardens in DAO, especially after reading his interview with Thedas UK in 2012. Due to that I don’t feel the need to explore the darkspawn + grey warden conflict outside of the game.
1:21:35 I like him XD he was my first pick to love when I played the game haha I enjoy watching your playing. I can't wait to see who you are going to pick eventually. Love your reaction when you saw Alistair haha
Just a hint, Shen. There is a quest on the War Table to "Recruit An Archivist". I would suggest doing that soon. When "she" arrives, go to the undercroft (the door to the right of the throne, as you face it); there you will meet a familiar face. It's also where you can store things, and craft new weapons and armour. Also a warning - there is no fall damage in Skyhold, but there IS in the rest of the world. It's fun to make crazy jumps in Skyhold; but just remember the same things elsewhere, can kill you. Have fun.
I'm so glad you think Alistair looks handsome in this game, so many times I've heard people say he looks bad but I've always disagreed! (Though he does need a holiday to top up on a tan, poor guy is very pale lol). His talk about the HOF is the sweetest
Having Alistair reappear is such a nice touch. (I've never had that in any of my playthroughs.) Personally, I think Bioware made a mistake in changing the protagonist in each of the Dragon Age games, because it weakens the idea that we're following a single chain of events. Having major characters like Alistair turn up, however, does go a long way towards reestablishing the continuity.
I dunno if you record ahead, but if not some gentle pointers, maybe... Alistair is in Skyhold (on the rampart) for the time being/until you start the warden main mission, and you can talk to him again. There is also the war table mission to contact your Warden, so do that and go to see Alistair afterwards for his reaction about it :D And as said in the other comment, you may want to do the Orlais quest before the warden main quest, for a VERY good reason. I cannot say more bc spoilers but trust me on this xD Also talk to Grand Entchanter Fiona... she may have something to say about your newest guest :D I'm liking the direction you are taking with your inki's romance btw, it is a good and wholesome one. I can't remember that Josie would reject the inquisitor tho, maybe this is due to having not talked/flirted enough with her, aww poor Nan.
The war table mission is called "Contact the Hero Of Ferelden" btw, which you talked about with Alistair in that cave, but most likely did not register as you were understandably fangirling about his softness ;)
Quick spider-warning for here lies the abyss. You will hate it, brace yourself. Also if you are not there yet, I recommend wicked eyes, wicked hearts before here lies the abyss.
That Solas and Cole conversation where Solas said "I think it held him as he died", around 18 minutes. I'm like almost certain that's a reference to the 1946 movie It's a Wonderful Life! Cole and Solas giving their interpretations on what happened in the film??? I've literally only ever heard the banter once in my playthroughs but I think about it every time I think about Cole. What a silly thing to add to the game, but also something that gives us a real idea of how Solas and Cole see the world respectively.
It's about a man who considers taking his own life when he's feeling low! An angel finds him and shows him what the world would be like without him in it! Cole sees the movie the way we mostly see it - a happy ending where a man realizes his worth with the help of a young spirit! But Solas' version is sadder. The spirit holds the man as he dies, showing him only happy images to ease the passing
@alexandrasloane I'm sort of aware of the story, though I've not seen the film, but omg that alternate way of looking at it (the way Solas does) is 😢.
It would really help you to learn about crafting. Maybe too boring for some to do it in the video but it helps immensely as the enemies get more powerful. Like dragons. Also, I don't think it's spoilery to say be careful of the demons that come through those rifts. Even though they look the same they are not all the same. Some are much more powerful.
I also hated Logan. I have to admit though he's complicated. He didn't start where he ended up and his perspective is more than it seems when we see him only through the lens of Origins. Enjoyed the video as always, I'm still trying to work out what you really think of Cullen 😀
I’m still not even sure how I feel about Cullen 😅. I love him and then remember he was a stinky ol Templar….but Nan knows none of that…it’s complicated okay 🤣
@@_shhenanigans_ I'm sure he's showered since then !!
Every character in this game has plastic surgery Alistair looks younger and anora shes very older and cullen doesn't have nodle hair anymore and loghain look like Willem dafeo and Stroud has weird mustache.
