I loved the episodes that Richard came back. It sounds silly, but especially after Ellen had her stroke his appearances made the family feel more complete. Love The Waltons, thanks Judy!
Unlike any other television program The Waltons always make me feel warm and nostalgic. Thank you for the memories Judy. I love the program in the 70s and still do watching the reruns to this day.❤
The increased sales at the lemonade stand was well done. Grandpa did a great job making that happen. My heart always broke a little when one of the Walton kids had relationship problems.
Hello Judy, you are looking so lovely today. I was thinking about Olivia's hand jester, and maybe she was thinking to herself that John was right and she was overthinking everything, and it was her way of tossing it all out of her mind. I agree with you on that. John Boy, leaving in this episode, broke my heart, and I always cried. I remember when this first aired, I was hoping that he was back again for good. Judy, as always, thank you for making my day! Have a great weekend! 🥰
This was such a bittersweet episode, i loved Daisy's character and Daisy and John Boy were a cute couple. A well done episode that covered how timing is sometimes wrong in romance 😢 loved this segment Judy ❤
When I have a bad day, I always watch one or two episodes of "The Waltons." This wonderful TV series always brightens my day. I purchased the series years ago along with the movies and just simply enjoy watching this awesome TV series. Thank you Judy.
The Revelation is another great episode with Richard back for an appearance with him and Daisy getting engaged, the best part of the episode is Grandpa helping Elizabeth and George with their lemonade, this is another great episode with John-Boy and this is another great remembrance of the Walton's and I've been seeing Walter Brooke in a lot of tv shows lately, until next time Thank You Judy.📺👋🇺🇲
I always loved that episode. I look at little Melissa and like to think about that's the age my mom would have been in the 40s. All these years later and the waltons still touch my heart.
*Judy, thanks for all the memories of different episodes from the Waltons. 🙂 It was sad when Richard Thomas (John-boy) decided to quit the Walton's, but then he did come back for a few special episodes... but he did go onto greater things in life 🙂nz*
Richard Thomas is such a great actor and was missed but he wanted to do other acting projects and does such beautiful work. I try to catch him in anything he is in. Thanks Judy ❤
For sure us mom's wouldn't trade a single moment. A mom 0f 3 girls and grandma of all granddaughter and another on the way❤❤❤. Love the Waltons and you Judy for sharing
Daisy is so very pretty and charming! The writers foreshadowed something ominous in The Marathon where Daisy first appears. At some point though incredibly tired from dancing she just can't walk away. She explained to John Boy she just had to win the $200.00. I don't recall the exact words, but I got the idea that Daisy was in some kind of trouble. It's so nice to share with you and others here all our favorite monents of The Walton's. I think Daisy was my 2nd favorite girlfriend/fiance for John Boy. She was so talented and kind. Bless you, Judy, and Walton's everywhere! ❤
@@MsJanetLouise Yes! Same here! I could relate to her because she, too, was an only child and loved The Walton family not just because of John Boy but because of each of the children and Grandma and Grandpa. She adored John and Olivia and especially little Elizabeth. She liked old-fashioned things like the Colonial cap Grandma sewed for her. She liked imagining the history of JB's ancestors Rebecca and Rome Walton. And, she was musical playing the organ in her family's old house. And she was young when her father died. I loved that she thought to give JB a Dulcimer. I related to all these character traits and history. And, of course, John Boy was her dear sweetheart! And she was very pretty and kind. Lastly, Earl Hamner said The Love Story was his favorite episode! So, what better recommendation! I also loved The Thanksgiving Story in Season Two. The opening photography and narration is my favorite in addition to The Homecoming and The Best Christmas. I was heartbroken that John Boy and Jennie did not keep their promises to each other as Earl narrated at the conclusion. I was terribly happy John Boy recovered from the accident and won the college scholarship! I attended college on a scholarship too and could really relate to how elated he was, as if there was ever any question he wouldn't get the scholarship with all the studying he did!! (I did not study as much as he did; but I did read a great deal!) See what you started here, Ms. Janet Louise?!? 😄 It's hopeless once I start listing all my favorite Walton people and stories! Haha! I think I have a lot of good company here with Walton's fans! 💕Have a lovely day! 🙏🕊️
Yes - the story arc for Daisy did hold some deeper aspects which kept definitely made it a more mature relationship. John Boy had moved beyond his school crush on Marsha :)
‘The Revelation’ dealt with John Boy discovering that Daisy had a child just before she danced with him in The Marathon. Her mother proved that she was Daisy’s mother and therefore Melissa’s grandmother. Daisy’s mother gained custody of Melissa. She then decided to GIVE UP her career as a Broadway dancer and raise Melissa. 💔
Thank you for talking about this episode. It seems to show a finishing touch to Richard Thomas's time in the series. I know it seemed that with The Return and the other episodes, we weren't ready to let go of him yet. And the final comments at the end really made for a good ending. Now with fall coming, I think its time for Judy to spend some time in the kitchen. Do you have any recipes to share with us?
What a treat to have you guide us through this episode. I loved watching The Waltons on the BBC here in England back in the day.I now watch the dvds.A classic show with beautifully drawn characters.❤
The increased sales at the lemonade stand were well done. Grandpa did a great job making that happen. My heart always broke a little when one of the Walton kids had relationship problems . I thought that John Boy and Daisy would actually get married. Thank you for an outstanding episode😊❤
"When I was a boy I dreamed of what I would make of my life when the time came to leave the mountain. My journey took me to New York City where I became a reporter for a press service, began work on my second novel and fell in love. I knew that the days of my life would be played out elsewhere, but as always, the events that took place on the mountain would shape and change the rest of my life."
this episode had many touching moments, especially between Daisy and her Mom, and when John Boy was Leaving home. a pretty funny scene where Grandpa spiked the Lemonade with the recipe. Looking forward to your next segment. God Bless and take care Judy. ♥
Thanks, Judy, for this segment. As for Olivia's hand motion, it would be interesting to see if Michael remembers the actual meaning of it. It almost seems like it could have been about something going on with the set, rather than an actual part of the scene.
0:42- LOVED that 1930's-1940's Manhattan 'establishing shot'! Amazing to see those cars and everything else in color there. It was somewhat rare to take color footage back then but it was great having it to set the stage of John-Boy and Daisy having become seasoned 'New Yawkers' ! Having some departed kin who'd lived there during that time got me to view that footage and imagine them walking those Times Square sidewalks As for why Olivia made that 'hand gesture' while patting John's back? I guess it was her way to show that while she was agreeing to be supportive of John (re dealing with John-Boy's fiancee), in her own mind, she wasn't quite ready to totally let her guard down about Daisy not being 'the one' for John-Boy. Speaking of John-Boy, he sure seemed to have a rather casual deal with his boss strolling into the boss's office and loosening his necktie right then and there. Few professional men would have conducted themselves with higher-ups back then. I mean, it almost seemed as cavalier as had he propped his feet on the boss's desk! Anyway, a rather tempting job offer of London for John-Boy but he seemed willing to turn it down to marry Daisy but for her . .unresolved issues. WHOA! What issues they turned out to be! Not only was Daisy still estranged from her mother but the child that Daisy born [after refusing to marry the co-parent] didn't get placed in a far away two-parent home so Daisy would never have to worry about her but . .had been adopted by Daisy's very own estranged mother! Yes, considering how it was next to impossible for single folks to adopt children back then, she MUST have presenting compelling evidence of being Melissa's maternal grandmother. I wonder if Mrs. Garner might have possibly adopted her granddaughter as a means to try to make up for having become totally estranged from Daisy- a do-over re parenthood? Considering that Daisy lived in a nearby small town within easy driving distance from Walton's Mountain, it's utterly astonishing that NO ONE managed to gossip to any of the Waltons about Melissa's existence but, evidently this was somehow kept a secret! Yeah, Daisy sure got thrown for a loop and maybe might have not only wanted a chance to be part of her young daughter's life now that she saw her again but also might have wanted to give Mrs. Garner another chance. At least Mrs. Garner WAS willing to give Daisy another chance instead of throwing her out of the house and keeping her from the child she'd legally relinquished all rights to! Yeah, a LOT to take in. Still, I have to wonder if John-Boy was MORE upset that Daisy hadn't been honest about this major part of her life with him than the fact that she'd had an. . .unconventional past [although THAT would have a HUGE deal for others- especially Corabeth]. Yeah, it was probably for the best that she broke the engagement since she no longer would have been content just waiting for him to come back from assignments while she climbed the ladder of theatrical success. Corabeth was more of a pain than usual at the dinner table but I imagine that Olivia felt she had enough on her plate as it was without making a big stink over Corabeth's snide comments and ingratitude at the dinner table. Of course the Baldwin Sisters were totally hospitable to John-Boy's fiancee and were eager to throw that engagement party- yet it wasn't to be. .and oddly enough they never got throw any engagement parties for ANY of the Walton sibs (not even for Jason or Erin- the two who seemed the chummiest with them). It sure seemed that this was somewhat the beginning of the end of John-Boy's innocence of the world-and he'd soon see some major shadowsides of it before the War would overwhelm everyone else! Interesting take on this episode. THANKS!
Thanks for another great recap! This is such a special episode with Richard being back, and a bittersweet but moving way to wrap up the John-Boy/Daisy story. As usual, it's beautifully written, directed, and acted by all. I think Olivia was deliberately portrayed to have "mother's intuition" that this just wasn't going to work out, and the little hand motion was a subtle way of her dismissing what John was saying. I agree with you about the scene between John-Boy and John Curtis; it's just adorable! Also, the lemonade scene is classic Grandpa- love it! The Waltons always did a good job of interspersing the sad with the funny- just like real life. ❤
Congratulations Judy on 80k! I always loved the episodes with JohnBoy and Daisy! I agree that Olivia's little hand wave was like, well, ok. I guess we'll see. I never get tired of watching the Waltons episodes. I've watched through the episodes many times throughout my life. This particular episode with Daisy having a child, I'm sure as a girl younger than Elizabeth at the time, I never understood the subtle nuances of it all. Thanks Judy and I hope you are doing well.
Thankyou Judy for sharing this episode with us fans.I really loved the fact that Daisy seemed to be the right match for Johnboy. She had a lot in common with him.Maryellen was never so excited for them.Olivia wasn't very pleased with Johnboy and Daisy being engaged.
Judy thank you for shareing this Episode.i loved daisy and her little girl melissa. john boy was such a great man and so patient with the situation of Daisy and her mom. It was great show johnboy goes to see daisys mom and talks with her and that daisys mom wants to see her but its up to daisy to want to see her mom. Then daisy tells johnboy she had a baby outside of wedlock. 😢
Hi Judy, Thank you for these informative and interesting videos! Regarding Olivia’s hand gesture, I think she was waving to show she was letting go of her worries about Daisy, and allowing the situation to unfold naturally, which sadly, it did. Until today, I mistakenly thought John Boy’s last episode was “The Achievement,” but that doesn’t make sense, since John Boy was working in NY after that. This episode makes more sense to end the character’s story with him going off to London. Your blouse is very pretty in this video! I just love your taste in clothes!
I really liked the Daisy character in thaes episodes. So beautiful, proper, mature, gentle...... I certainly would have been heartbroken if I was John boy loosing her, LOL
I Love Daisy!❤️ She was so cute, such a cheerful, happy disposition, big smile😀 My favorite part is when they’re in the Italian restaurant at the beginning talking to the piano player and the whole atmosphere of the romantic setting. I thought they made a cute couple, they were good together. I was sad when they couldn’t get married because she said she had to stay with her daughter and could not be with him.😓 If only she had told him she had a baby sooner, maybe they could have somehow stayed together, with her child.
I remember when I first saw this episode in reruns. I’ve seen that piano player before. Actor Tommy Leonetti played Corporal Nick in the first season of Gomer Pyle. Sadly he died a year after “The Revelation “ from cancer at 50. Same age Frank Sutton (sgt carter) passed away at.
The Revelation is a memorable episode because it is wistful and heartbreaking and so naturally acted by all involved. Hope you can interview Lenihan at some point. D.C. Fontana wrote for Star Trek! Actor Steve Shaw became a semi-regular on Lorimar's Knots Landing. Another great "behind the scenes" program, Judy. Thank you!
I remember wanting John Boy to stay at Waltons Mountain and the gal and her kid to move on..but that was my emotional response .. and I was glad when Mary Ellen was able to stay close to the house even though she married Kurt. .no matter the story, the Waltons never disappointed . . :)
This was such a sad, bitter sweet episode of Mr. Richard Thomas last full time episode and moving on. I still enjoy watching the reruns of The Waltons to this day. Thanks for this excellent Behind The Scenes Ms. Judy. God's speed.
Bittersweet for sure but a great episode and thank you Judy for this fabulous review. Love the extra nice touch of spotlighting the actors at the end!!!
This is such a bittersweet episode. Always made me emotional to watch. I love your videos, Judy- thank you for covering these episodes, it is always so interesting to learn more about them and hear your take on them.
I noticed that the costume designer dressed Deidre more forward than the other actresses. I always wondered why the character of Daisy did not continue after her guest appearances in the early part of the seventh season. Judy, I saw one of my favorite episodes yesterday, "The Wager".Your character was such an inspiration, but that show made you stand out.
Good question. Whether it was because Richard was gone so it didn’t make sense to continue a relationship with him not there - or I always thought it was because following real life - Earl married a woman named Jane. John Boy had a girlfriend named Jane in one reunion movie and then married one named Janet. Thank you - so glad you enjoyed The Wager. I had such fun filming that one.
Judy, any chance of getting an interview with Deirdre Lenihan? I'd love to hear about her experiences having done 6 episodes including of course "The Marathon", one of my favorite episodes.
@judynortan thank you for all the knowledge and memories you bring each week always great to see you bring actors and revisit characters that we all loved from the Waltons also explaining master shots and so much information we the public aren’t aware of …
As always you are such a blessing to me in how beautifully you present the episodes I’ve never been able to see like you did here, hon with this one!!!
Sneaky grandpa, always the wise and mischievous man!! Since JB was Earl Hamner, no surprise his role was enormous, but so glad other actors had increasing presence and focus as JB left.
Well Alexander Courage wrote the theme music as well. There are several overlaps in actors, writers, directors with Norway Productions (Star Trek)...as well with The Andy Griffith Show and the simultaneously produced MASH and Happy Days. Television was a smaller town in the 60s and 70s than many remember today
The Waltons great show. All the cast members great in there parts. Richard Thomas was perfect for John Boy. I'm glad he did three last movies. I'm glad Judy stayed in all the episodes. Everyone awesome.I. G.h
Miss Mamie drinks all of her "spiked" lemonade, but in the next shot, her glass isn't empty, and she is still drinking. I guess she got a refill between takes. 😂
This, indeed, was a packed episode. I love the little boy who played Mary Ellen’s son in this episode. There were many storylines in this. Then , each episode I ever watched of the show pulled my heartstrings in one way or another. It was nice to see the slightly more grownup Kami as Elizabeth. Thanks, Judy.
John Boy picked a Daisy. It was a good choice and too bad that it didn’t work out. John Boy would have made a good father for Melissa. I enjoyed John Boy talking to John Curtis, also. It looked like John Curtis was behind bars with that shot of the crib and he was getting a visitor. This was a painful episode with some nice breaks, like the lemonade story. Wonderful explanation as always!
I feel like maybe Olivia's hand movement was a non verbal "Oh my, what am I going to do about this?" and an attempt to let it go. I think Rachel Bard's performance is really great here. When John Boy sees her, she looks a bit older, you can see the stress in her face. When Melissa appears and Mrs. Garner is telling her to go play, you see the joy for the child and she looks younger to me. Deirdre Lenihan does a wonderful job as well, transforming from the NY life to confronting her own feelings about leaving the area initially and seeing Melissa again. Grandpa's Lemonade Consultation sub plot was hilarious, especially when Corabeth gets a taste of the spiked lemonade.
ThankyounJudy for the episode Sharing Johnboy at work.I looked forward to watching Walton's show til.this day.I always love the Waltons, reaching out to all walks of life, color, race, and region.
The most hilarious part was when grandpa put the recipe into the lemonade. As I recall he got caught but it was still a very funny story line. Daisy having a child which was a secret is so more common now in today's world for sure. It was great that plot was for her not to get married, and she was going to rekindle that relationship with her mom and daughter. Excellent episode.
Yes, congratulations on 80k subs Judy. It’s well deserved. As to that hand gesture, I’m thinking it was to wave of the gesture of Olivia putting her arm on John’s shoulder. Perhaps the scene called for her to actually put her arm on his shoulder, but as she began to do it Michael perhaps felt it was not in her character to do that. And she waves to signal the director?
Judy - perhaps you have… but, if not, would you consider doing an episode where you compare the lives of John Boy and Earl Hamner, Jr? Thinking about the NYC scene here… was Earl offered a chance to write for the Stars and Stripes? Was there a young lady he was engaged to? Maybe take (what you think) were some key points of John Boy’s life, and see if Earl experienced those as well… As always, thank you! Jim
I wish I knew more of Earl’s real life history to do that sort of comparison. His son, Scott said many episodes were based on real aspects but embellished - so it’s hard to tell which ones.
I remember getting very upset when Johnboy left and even more upset at the beginning of season 7 when grandpa had died. The show had that impact on viewers as it was like another family you felt you belonged to. No other tv show has ever made me feel that way either before or after. Thank you Judy for a wonderful review of this episode and best wishes to you as always from your waltonian superfan in a chilly autumnal England😉
Thank you. That means a lot to me and the rest of the cast. Has the temp changed permanently heading to fall - winter? Or will there be another warmer spell before that happens?
I think the hand motion probably meant c'est la vie in regards to the upcoming marriage. If it wasn't that, then I don't know. I really.doubt Michael would remember? This episode's ending was very sad and goes to prove that sometimes love just isn't enough. Hate to sound unromantic, but there you go. It is why I ended up not marrying my fiance years ago. As ever Judy, thank you!
Firstly, I think Olivia's twitch was just a moment of indecisiveness as she tried to woke out where she was at and what she was doing. I reckon the moment where grandpa pours the recip into the lemonade was so cute. The choice of music really suited the moment as it emphasised the cheekiness of the situation. It was similar to when John arrives home drunk when a really cheeky grin and Olivia replies with a reluctant expression after attempting to take Red Turner to the Dew Drop Inn. Both moments really added a hint of humour to the storyline. I had a similar incident to John-Boy and Daisy about 15 years ago when I broke up with my last girlfriend. In early 2010, my relationship wasn't going well and we talked. I told her that I wanted to leave Sydney and move to country NSW and she wanted to stay in Sydney. So I felt that it was the right thing for us to break up, because my heart wasn't in remaining where I was. This lead to my move to the Hunter Valley where I am now. I must say that my girlfriend was a Waltons fan and she had a copy of the series and we watched it together, this is how I became re-aquainted with the series. As a child, I was only about 10yo, when the series finished and though I remember watching it, I only had vague memories of it, hence it was my relationship with Linda that helped me to re-ignite my interest in the series. The scenes of the countryside and the lifestyle emphasised my yearing to live in the country, leading to my ultimate departure from Sydney. Well I've never looked back, though Maitland is a large town, it is surrounded by the beautiful of rural NSW, I love it here. Though the choice was difficult it was the right choice.
The boy actor who played Elizabeth 's boyfriend George was on a Little House episode a year later. Sadly he played a dying teenage boy who wanted to see the ocean before passing......
I loved Daisy's character. She was charming and personable. I too would have loved to see this relationship work out. I also loved it when Daisy comes back to Waltons Mountain the same day Jason bails Boone Walton out of jail. Mary Ellen even let Daisy and Melissa live in she and Curts house.
Hello Judy. Thank you for another fun look behind the scenes. I’m watching The Waltons on DVD and am up to season 5. I was born in 1973 so I have memories of it being on in our house growing up. Usually, hearing the theme song meant it was my bedtime but my bedroom shared a wall with the living room so I could still listen a bit. Thanks again! -AJ
@@judynorton2598 Yes! Especially the theme song. It automatically triggers feelings of comfort and family. As I have been watching seasons 1 through 5 there have been moments of strange “familiarity” that I believe were memory fragments from the show; Drucilla’s Pond I think in particular along with the house. Do you know when the first reruns started airing? I’m guess that’s after a few years. I think you mentioned syndication often happens after a couple seasons. I wasn’t even born yet during season 1 but it’s my favorite; so magical! The episode “The Carnival” is my number 1 pick. Such a beautiful story filled with humanity, understanding & kindness. The brief exchange between Olivia and the tightrope walker at the end as they’re packing the trunk is cinematic gold! Thanks again!
@@AJFisherDesign My understanding was that The Waltons didn't start in reruns (syndication) until after the show went off the air in the 9th season. So somewhere around 1982
From Puerto Rico, I know is a program, but for me Daisy was the best girlfriend for John Boy. But I don't write the script. I thought they made a nice couple. From Puerto Rico saying hello to all the Waltons cast and the many fans. God bless you all ! ❤🙏😊
That was a really sad show. I was hoping that Deirdre would have gone on to be a regular on the show as John Boy's wife. She gets to London with her child and they are reunited . She gets work in the London theatre with enough money for a nanny and a small apartment in London and John-Boy wouldn't have go to through another season and several "specials" before he found a woman to marry him. : ) Speaking of wedding, thanks for your wishes, i will pass them on the Marissa and Luke and I'll let you know how the wedding went. Hopefully it won't rain.
You look terrific, Judy! I just subscribed. I always love the extra bit of knowledge in shows and movies. I really didn’t appreciate The Waltons growing up. But, watching it as an adult, and now at 56, I find it to be a wonderful, endearing series. Thank you for all the behind the scenes info and best wishes to you always. Jodi, in Lansing, MI.
Dear Judy, I remember The Revelation pretty well. As you said, it was Richard's last series appearance on The Waltons. It was the next-to-last episode with Will Geer. Grandpa was always up for some recipe, and it usually got him into trouble. This time it's Corabeth who gives him a little grief. John-Boy taking the overseas job with the Stars and Stripes upset me a little, but young men in 1941 didn't have much choice. It was either go voluntarily or get drafted. Even before Pearl Harbor, conscription was stepped up, and so was the defense effort. I remember Grandpa's line as John-Boy leaves for Europe. John-Boy playfully chides him to stay out of trouble, and Grandpa says, "I'll try. I've sworn off lemonade for the duration." People back then knew what "for the duration" meant. It meant a long time. When men got drafted, or when men and women volunteered for the service, they were in it for the long haul. People went into defense work, and often worked something like 10-12 hours a day, often seven days a week. People like Ike and Ben worked civil defense on top of other jobs as well. They really stepped up and sacrificed.
I loved the episodes that Richard came back. It sounds silly, but especially after Ellen had her stroke his appearances made the family feel more complete. Love The Waltons, thanks Judy!
Makes complete sense. I love that thought.
Unlike any other television program The Waltons always make me feel warm and nostalgic. Thank you for the memories Judy. I love the program in the 70s and still do watching the reruns to this day.❤
Thank you for continuing to watch.
That was a sad time when Richard Thomas left the show but we know that it couldn't last forever, even though we wish it would.
As viewers we hate when our favorite actors leave shows, or shows we love end. 😢
The increased sales at the lemonade stand was well done. Grandpa did a great job making that happen.
My heart always broke a little when one of the Walton kids had relationship problems.
Ben and Cindy last the longest
You and me both!

So glad you enjoyed this episode.
I always loved that episode. I look at little Melissa and like to think about that's the age my mom would have been in the 40s. All these years later and the waltons still touch my heart.
Thank you. I’m happy to hear that the show still touched you.
that lemonade always looked so refreshing on this episode of the Waltons
It sure did :)
Well done, Judy. You have a gift

Thanks for the thought. I’ll see if I can “cook up something” :)
Congratulations on reaching 80k+, Judy🎉
Thank you so much!
What a treat to have you guide us through this episode.
I loved watching The Waltons on the BBC here in England back in the day.I now watch the dvds.A classic show with beautifully drawn characters.❤
Thank you so much.
The increased sales at the lemonade stand were well done. Grandpa did a great job making that happen. My heart always broke a little when one of the Walton kids had relationship problems . I thought that John Boy and Daisy would actually get married. Thank you for an outstanding episode😊❤
Glad you had fun with the lemonade story. I liked John Boy and Daisy as a couple :)
I remember this episode fondly. The dresses daisy wears are so pretty. Thank you for explaining and sharing. Mary
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.

I think Olivia's pat on the back of John was her saying, "Not the ideal but we'll get through this too".
I like that!
I like this episode a lot, and liked the scene with grandpa and the lemonade stand, so funny! Will Geer was great! Thanks Judy for all you do.
Such a fun subplot!
this episode had many touching moments, especially between Daisy and her Mom, and when John Boy was Leaving home. a pretty funny scene where Grandpa spiked the Lemonade with the recipe. Looking forward to your next segment. God Bless and take care Judy. ♥
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
@@judynorton2598 yvw!!!
Hi Judy, thanks for sharing this episode. Sort of a bitter sweet episode.
I thought so too.
Thanks, Judy, for this segment. As for Olivia's hand motion, it would be interesting to see if Michael remembers the actual meaning of it. It almost seems like it could have been about something going on with the set, rather than an actual part of the scene.
That would be fun to see if she remembers what her motivation was for that.
Interesting thought - but I would doubt Michael would do something on camera that was about something off camera.
Having some departed kin who'd lived there during that time got me to view that footage and imagine them walking those Times Square sidewalks
As for why Olivia made that 'hand gesture' while patting John's back?
THANKS!
Thanks for watching and for sharing your perspective on this episode and the broader issues and questions it raised.
Yet another brilliant episode. Keep them coming ❤
Thank you so much.
Thank you for sharing all your thoughts. That makes sense about Olivia’s gesture.
I understand. Some of the more grown up aspects I’m sure went over the heads of the children watching. :). I imagine that was the plan.
Thankyou Judy for sharing this episode with us fans.I really loved the fact that Daisy seemed to be the right match for Johnboy. She had a lot in common with him.Maryellen was never so excited for them.Olivia wasn't very pleased with Johnboy and Daisy being engaged.
Thank you for watching and sharing your take on things.
Glad you enjoyed this episode. Lots going on.
Hi Judy,
Thank you for these informative and interesting videos!
Thank you. I love that explanation for Olivia’s hand gesture.
I really liked the Daisy character in thaes episodes. So beautiful, proper, mature, gentle......
I certainly would have been heartbroken if I was John boy loosing her, LOL
I thought her character was a lot of fun and energetic, with dreams she was pursuing - I thought they were a good match.
Glad you liked them as a couple.
Thank you! Have a great day, Judy!
Thank you. You too.
So sad - both he and Steve Shaw who played George passed too young.

The Revelation is a memorable episode because it is wistful and heartbreaking and so naturally acted by all involved. Hope you can interview Lenihan at some point. D.C. Fontana wrote for Star Trek! I love your videos, Judy- thank you for covering these episodes, it is always so interesting to learn more about them and hear your take on them.
So happy to hear that. Thank you.

Sneaky grandpa, always the wise and mischievous man!!
Since JB was Earl Hamner, no surprise his role was enormous, but so glad other actors had increasing presence and focus as JB left.
As we were all growing up and maturing it was nice to have more substantial story lines. Although sorry the reason was that Richard was gone.
Excellent work Judy !!
Thank you.
D.C. Fontana was a writer for Star Trek. Great writer!
Yes!
Absolutely, she was so brilliant.

Well Alexander Courage wrote the theme music as well. There are several overlaps in actors, writers, directors with Norway Productions (Star Trek)...as well with The Andy Griffith Show and the simultaneously produced MASH and Happy Days.

So glad you enjoyed this segment.
Glad you enjoyed it.
So glad you enjoyed the episode. Lots going on. I like that thought on Olivia’s hand gesture.
ThankyounJudy for the episode Sharing Johnboy at work.I looked forward to watching Walton's show til.this day.I always love the Waltons, reaching out to all walks of life, color, race, and region.
Thanks so much for watching.
So glad you enjoyed the episode.
Interesting thought. I still think it was character driven in some way.
Judy - perhaps you have… but, if not, would you consider doing an episode where you compare the lives of John Boy and Earl Hamner, Jr? Thinking about the NYC scene here… was Earl offered a chance to write for the Stars and Stripes? Was there a young lady he was engaged to?
Maybe take (what you think) were some key points of John Boy’s life, and see if Earl experienced those as well…
As always, thank you!
@@judynorton2598 Another warm spell we hope, not too bad right now😊
Lol he put the recipe in it lol good ole grandpa ❤I still watch the waltons on the Hallmark channel I've told you this before ❤
Thank you for continuing to watch.
That’s certainly one option on the hand motion. Sorry it didn’t work out the way you would have wanted with your fiance.
Thank you for sharing with me about your own life experience. Sounds like it was the right decision for you and your life has been good.
Olivia's hand gesture probably meant something simple like , oh well life moves on , even here on Waltons Mountain ☺
So true
Maybe as Michael if she remembers what gesture meant.😊
Definitely could be.

-AJ
So your first memories were of “hearing” the Waltons rather than seeing them :)

Thank you! Welcome. I liked John Boy and Daisy too :)
Speaking of wedding, thanks for your wishes, i will pass them on the Marissa and Luke and I'll let you know how the wedding went. Hopefully it won't rain.
Awesome! I like your ideas for John Boy and Daisy - she was one of my favorites of his girlfriends and I loved working with Deirdre.

My pleasure. Thanks for subscribing!!
Thank you for sharing all that additional info.
