My musical theatre lovers! My kind of people! 😆✌🏻 Who should I add to my list to react to? I’ve got Barrett Wilbur Reed and Jeremy Jordan but I need more!
Hannah Bayles You should react to Mariah Rose Faith's covers! Maybe a comparison video with all of the Reginas? And maybe Sophia Anne Caruso, I've heard criticisms of her technique. Btw love the video!
@@itssofiachill6112 I can imagine. I find it funny that everyone who has played Regina is always really nice. Mariah, Taylor and Renee seem like such lovely people (all of the casts do)
As much as I love Renée as Regina, I’m HYPE for whatever show she joins next (if she chooses to keep going because some of her aspirations are to produce her own music). It’ll be interesting to see her take on the character, and to carry over that spectacular voice!
As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes Mariah Rose Faith, I sort of Forgot that the other Reginas were so incredible (listen, I'm more of a Mariah fan than I am a Mean Girls fan, so,,)!!! This was awesome, and as someone who's taking voice lessons right now the whole video I was going "Oh, hey, I know that word!! Am I a good singer yet, does this make me a good singer??" I'm A Loser-
maybe sophia anne caruso? or presley ryan? i’ve always heard critiques with them even though i think they sound great so i’d love to hear what you have to say:)
I think that’s also partially because the role they have/had is very demanding for any voice, especially a young singer. Not discounting the fact that they may be singing unhealthily, but there are definitely other factors there
I love that on "me" she opens up the vowel to be closer to "may," but not to an annoying extent. Barret Wilbert Weed goes extremely wide on her "me" in some performances of "I'd Rather Be Me" (I love her but it's :/ )and I think Renee is a great example of manipulating vowels for easier belting while maintaining the integrity of the sounds.
Renee is incredible, and not to mention she's so young as well! The way she belts is so clear and healthy too! Definitely one to watch in the years to come!
Okay I love this. I am a voice teacher with a degree in vocal music/music ed masters and sometimes I go to these videos skeptical that the people know what they're talking about. 10/10 am going to continue watching you! Love your commentary and thought the exact same things!!!
It's so much fun seeing someone discover her for the first time! I saw Mean Girls in January, and she's even better live. Everybody was in awe the whole time. I've idolized her for a while, but I was still in shock. The fact that she's only 20 years old makes it even crazier (19 when she started the role).
i’m not a professional vocal coach by any means but actually in my experience of singing and from what i’ve learned from my vocal teacher an e vowel is a way to get your belt stronger for anyone trying to increase your range SING ON E it is magical!!!
Here's My List: Sierra Boggess and Ramin Karimloo(The Phantom of the Opera, OR a comparison of all Phantoms) Barrett Wilbert Weed and Carrie Hope Fletcher (Heathers) Anyone from Six, but preferably Aimie Atkinson (All You Wanna Do) Sophia Anne Caruso and Presley Ryan (Dead Mom or Home from Beetlejuice?) Mariah Rose Faith and Taylor Louderman (comparing against Renee Rapp because they all played Regina) Jeremy Jordan (She Used to Be Mine) Andrew Rannells? (I'm kind of curious as to how you would react) Eva Noblezada (Hadestown OR Miss Saigon, you will not regret it) And finally, a comparison of all the Jennas from Waitress (Sara Bareilles, Jessie Mueller, Betsy Wolfe, Shoshana Bean, etc.) sorry, I know that this is long
fun fact: alto is not a range! you're probably thinking abt contraltos, which are in fact a range, and alto is the choir part encompassing contralto and mezzo :)
Being a contralto is really annoying. You can't sing anything. There are almost no parts that you can do! I am really jealous of mezzos because they can do a lot of parts
I literally watched this 50 times and I auditioned for a school with song and then I had to sing it like 20 times to record it and then I couldn’t sing for the rest of the day and I was dying
Here’s a young (approx. 19 years old), beautiful, female “legit” musical theater singer you should definitely evaluate in her UA-cam video titled: “singing songs from Waitress while baking a pie”. Her singing voice is as good as Renee Rapp’s voice. Listen to Deidre Lynn Thompson hold out her sustained notes with very even, full-length-of-the-note, medium-rate vibrato. She should be a star on Broadway like Renee Rapp is.
Please could you name all the techniques she uses please from beginning to end? Also, there's this thing singers do with their voice which I can't seem to do. If you listen to 'Apex Predator' Mean Girl Broadway. The line that says something like " And now I shake my mane." there's this thing she does on the word "shake" and I don't know what it's called. Please help me I really want to sing these songs. Thank you
i would recommend reacting to renee singing ‘someone gets hurt’ on broadwaycom, i think her voice singing that is even better than this video, it’s much more raw and shows her true talent
I watched Reneé on Broadway in December and she does this song SO effortlessly! Her live performance is equally as good as her recording - spectacular.
Helloooo! If you loved Renee in this, check out her performance at the Jimmy Awards! It was BEFORE she got picked up to be in "Mean Girls." She sang a song from "Chaplin" that blew the roof off the place. ALSO! While you're there, "Dear Evan Hansen's" Andrew Barth Feldman sang as well! The Jimmy Awards are a great place to find fresh, young amazing singers! Love your channel, keep it up!
I have so much respect for every actress who plays Regina, no one should ever compare them or pick favorites actually, this is how it should be for every actor
I love that this is the video that gave you the musical theater video reputation! I love these videos! People people react/analyze mainstream pop way too much now.

Sutton Foster?
Stephanie J. Block! (Specifically the song I'm Breaking Down). I think she has the most beautiful (and healthy from the little I know about it) belt.
