      Thanks for the kind words. She will definitely be on when we're doing things like the rack opinion and the 3 link and the 64 Falcon hardtop. But she's also expressed some interest in doing other things on Autorestomod so you never know.

    Engineering beauty. So glad you partnered up with them to do this here in the US. My 65 Fastback loves em, and the handling is off the chain!

      The owners are such nice people, I really enjoy helping out folks that have something worthy of being placed on an old car. RRS is just one of those components.

    That is a really nice system. And yes, have Diona on more often. It's always fun to watch attractive ladies who can and will work on our older cars.

      I'm pretty sure she will be, we have a rack opinion and a 3 link rule suspension to install on this car and she wants to be involved in all of it. How cool is that?

    Slick system, I love how it will play nice with much of the stock components. It would help a fella to be able install the base part of the system and upgrade other pieces later, especially if it’s a pay as you go project, it’s not all or nothing. 👍 oh btw, I am glad she said it, because we’d be in the dog house for sure.

      Yes, it's one of the things I really like about the RRS product that's product. Having that ability to just do 1 or 2 components at a time period do the strut now, do the rack opinion later, it all works to the end. When Diona said that about "it's so easy your wife could do it" I wanted to look around for the non existent HR person here at our shop lol.

While she doesn’t participate in the grease and toil, she does support the effort financially and facilitates much of the shenanigans. She raised 2 boys ( truth be told and me). You did mention that you will oritect the strut tower with a cover, could you share where to get them. Appreciate your reply and also your assistance as I was doing the installation.

    Huh...I had no idea the Ackerman on the Falcon-Chassis cars was a better match for the wider track and longer wheelbase of the Galaxie. That's really strange since they're totally different chassis. While manual steering could get really heavy, modern tires like a lot of caster. The RRS set up is really nice.

    looks like if you convert to their suspension you have to convert to their brake setup as well?

    • @dionaford1351

      Correct. I'm sure Jeff can add more techeze to that!

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  2 роки тому

      The brakes were picked by RRS as being the best set up for the application. And they offer a huge amount of different breaks. Because they went with the hub system (again for efficiency and better performance), you can't use your standard disc brakes from your spindle style system.

    Did you use the driver side rotor? Thought the slots should be center to outer as the rotor turns going forward.

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  2 роки тому

      We might have indeed lol. The reason I used that rotor was because the one that I was going to use on that side had my rusty fingerprints all over it and it looked bad. I do know that RRS does not dictate side for the rotor.

    Couldn’t just make wire clips to hold them in tight to the caliper. I used to use hangers to clip over the space in the pads. I didn’t see if there was a gap in the pads. But maybe you can do it to the backing plate?
