Very helpful video.. Thanks 😉 I'm also working in corporate sales operation. We usually do cycle count twice a year though we use a different platform to do inventory cycle count but it becomes easier for me to understand the process thru QB.. 😊
I haven't seen this in real life but I wonder if there is a notes field where the counter can say, these missing ones were stolen, or damaged, rather than just adjust without knowing why? I still need to understand if the tax consequence is different depending on why the counts are off?
Glad I found you and have subscribed.- We have Quick Book Enterprise, however never used Inventory systems. We would like to track our branded uniforms, shirts, etc. Currently walking out the door from employees (not theft). Besides locking the room where we store, any recommendations as we do not re-sell these, rather consume or give away? As a service company we can't run out of uniforms & shirts used in our profession.
I want to use the app on my phone. Do I have to use or buy a scanner android device? I own a moto g7. My small company has over 7000 items and doing this away from the office would be wonderful. We have multiple computers/stations with QB Enterprise 20.0 I did download the QB Warehouse app on Google Play.
Is there a way I can open up an Invoice in quickbooks desktop Enterprise via a barcode. I already have barcodes active in quickbooks. Your videos really help
Thank youbso much for all the informative videos! Very well explained. I have a question, so with the QB warehouse or get the android scanner phone I can also do the PO to titem receipt and so forth? As long as I have wifi?
Good morning and Merry Christmas Hector. Great series of videos - you go me over the conceptual wall of "it's there in Quickbooks software but does it work." I purchased a TC21 and connected it to my Enterprise Desktop 22 version of QB. I created cycle counts and sent them to the TC21 unit. Picker is created and scanning works. But when I scan an item it does not add 1 to the cycle count. Have you ever run into this behavior before? Do you know how to resolve it? Thank you!
Nothing works “flawlessly” even the ones that work well; feel mediocre, because the mobile app is still a little clunky/limited. However I am working with a Zebra TC26 now, works well.
My question is how to get the QB software on the mobile device if your QB is hosted offsite? Also, it appears the QB Warehouse app will only run on an Android device?
QB will not run on a mobile device.. there is just the warehouse app that works on android. If you have a large tablet like an iPad, you can use Remote Desktop to access it, but everything will be so small; is kind of useless
Hector for the Mobile Cycle count is there only the product provided to the warehouse personnel or is the bin location somewhere so he knows how to get there?
Do you know if this will work with most scanners? Do you recommend one in particular? Could we use an android-based tablet and a blue tooth scanner instead?
We are testing Enterprise now to evaluate the new features. We downloaded a 30 trial and we do not have a site operations tab next to barcode. Is this because it is a trail?
Is this possible with the non enterprise version? We’re currently looking into something to help us go around the warehouse to scan items to inventory. All we need is something handheld to scan these items in. Not attached to the computer via USB, we already have that. Is there anything that could help if not? Great video by the way thank you
No.. only Enterprise But there is a workaround, kinda complex... I don’t want to say it’s an absolute NO. Are you just trying to make adjustments with the scanner and that’s it? Or do you I want the scanner to do something else?
so i am currently running enterprise and i am looking at options to help with inventory. my question is will this system work with doing full warehouse inventory counts and if so what barcode scanner would be good for this. i have tried to find information on specifically what i am looking to do but am having trouble finding the information. any help would be greatly appreciated.
thank you for the quick response, i have one more for you. would i still use the cycle count if i was going to do an entire warehouse inventory or is that done differently.
Hi Hector! Thanks for the great video. I am working with a new client who has reached out to me for assistance getting their MC40 scanner to work to do cycle counts. They are using QBES20 version with advanced inventory and the QBES file is hosted in the cloud. They cannot get the MC40 to recognize the user and therefore it will not download the cycle count. I have just begun researching this issue for them, but am wondering if there is a problem possibly with the QBES file being hosted in the cloud that could be causing a communication issue with the MC40 and QB warehouse app? Could you offer any suggestions?
@@HectorGarciaCPA 1•Updated 3 weeks ago Get help with setting up and using the Warehouse Manager, so you can stay on top of your inventory movement. Warehouse Manager integrates seamlessly with QuickBooks Enterprise Advanced Inventory. There are several supported mobile barcode scanner devices: • Zebra TC20 • Zebra TC25 • Zebra TC51 • Zebra MC40 (discontinued by the manufacturer but still supported)
@@HectorGarciaCPA Okay thanks! We will reach out to their QB Host provider first. I also suggested that we try it with a copy of their QB on a local computer to see if it will sync --- we will do both of these before buying a new scanner. You have other clients currently using the MC40 correct?

YeS, do you guys use QB enterprise?
No, we don't.. We use JDA platform instead.
Hector, great video - thank you. Can you use this scangun for build assemblies to add product to your inventory?

not on the phone/app.. you cant add notes there. But yes inside QB

Track the inventory, and invoice it a zero dollars once they are consumed

It can do item receipts with WIFI
Question-- Can I sort my cycle count by location or bin location? If so where can i add those locations to the device? Thank you in advance.
No :(

No, never seen this error. Have you tried uninstalling the app from the TC21 and installing it again?
Is there any way to scan in larger quantities (batch units) than 1 unit?
No
Hector, In TC21 I can not find anywhere I can input where the product should be located, also will be updated in BQ at the same time?
Product location doesn’t show in the phone app, is a feature we are missing
@@HectorGarciaCPA Can you suggest what kind of scanner can edit bin location so the Quickbooks inventory can update at the same time?

Hector, Does the Zebra MC930B work flawlessly with QB Enterprise or what is the perfect mobile scanner for Inventory in Enterprise?
Nothing works “flawlessly” even the ones that work well; feel mediocre, because the mobile app is still a little clunky/limited.
However I am working with a Zebra TC26 now, works well.
Is it possible to add pictures for each inventory item and show it on estimates, invoices ,etc
No

Hector, Can QB have multiple barcodes for the same item? Or can the barcode field have multiple UPC's separated by a comma?
Reason for asking ....Our company uses 1 barcode for the item (UPC-13) and another barcode (GTIN) for the master case
Hector for the Mobile Cycle count is there only the product provided to the warehouse personnel or is the bin location somewhere so he knows how to get there?
Cycle counts are for the entire product set. Not by Bin Location.

Michael Ihns any scanner that works on the android, will work.

I don’t know of one
You could (in theory) use a custom field and a barcode font for this

dustin johnson if you have QB enterprise platinum, you can use the TC20 or TC25

dustin johnson yes cycle count works for every item if you want.. they are broken down into 200 items per group.

They don’t support the MC40 anymore. Try the TC20 or TC25
