I also am going "baldish" in the front on the sides, how should I part my hair? It wants to naturally part on the right buuut that side is the thinnest. I've always had long hair but a couple of years ago I had to cut it because of an on the job injury with my right arm it got cut way to short because I didn't know what to tell the stylist what I wanted because I didn't know what would look good with my face. Anyways it grew out a little bit still short and I just went back in and I had a better idea of what I wanted which is this hair cute but with it a little longer in the front, so we are working towards that but it's still a little too short in the front but I have no idea how to style it and how everyone gets those amazing waves. I've tried but I just can't figure out how to do it. My hair is already thin but after a year of surgeries and fighting cancer it's just so much thinner and I don't know how to fix it. When it was long I always did ponytails and messy buns. I'm 47 and trying to learn how to style hair lol.
I have that too, mines just naturally thin in that area. I brush it forwards and up from behind the ear when I blow dry it and then I add a bit of dry shampoo or volumizing powder to the roots behind and above my ears. It helps quite a bit 🙂

Genuine question- the freehand layers look great, but how do you maintain that if keeping the style over months/years? Is it like a once and done deal? The consecutive cuts are just to maintain the length?
The point cutting helps to soften the hair and remove some bulk without removing as much weight as thinning shears or layers. And yes it will help add some texture.
I am not a stylist but a customer. None of the past 3 hairdressers I have had, section the hair the way you do Summer as well as other people I see on UA-cam. Why wouldn’t they do so? It seems one would have better c trol of shaping.
Pictures are not realistic. I’ve looked for hours through pics that never show what I want. I’m a stylist and a customer, so I’m not sure I’ve ever got exactly what I wanted.
If your a good communicator and you pay more you’ll find a great stylists. Be practical and know your hair texture before you ask for something totally different then your hair can handle.
Point cutting is so common now. I don't care for it, the end result leaves the style looking like a helmet. There are new versions of a bob now that aren't a bob they look more like shags. The straight blunt cut is so much more nicer and looks great.
@@StylesBySummer mannequin heads are predictable even in their problems, and you can choose which one you have… clients you don’t really know what issues they have until they’re sitting in your chair
Sorry but being a stylist for over 40 years I wouldn’t let her trim my dogs hair. Anyone can pick up hair and hack at it this way but it doesn’t qualify you as a professional hairdresser ! Only exceptional hairdressers can do a flawless precision cut !
Gosh that hair on front is horrible. Nothing against you I just don't understand what people see in that. Looks like the Depression yrs when they had no choice to do it themselves or a family member. No you . I don't understand.
