I’m 32 and I remember vaguely of the times when us tobacco company would give away min cans at rodeo events and outdoor expos and I started when I was 13 and I would get so many of those sample cans I had a months supply one time 😂 but that changed fast nowadays it’s like a crime to even mention tobacco but as I said I’m 32 been dipping since I was 13 still have all my teeth no cavities ever no stained teeth and healthy so I’m sticking with my grizzly wintergreen for years to come

Yeah, spitting is always going to be a part of dipping. They sent a guy who didn't know what he was talking about; moist snuff isn't chewing tobacco -- and almost no one who's dipper would even bother with pinches that small.
If you dip for a while, meaning long enough to stop salivating so much, you only spit maybe twice or 3 times during the course of a regular dip (25-35 mins). I do know old fellas who only spit twice: once right after they pack a lip, and once to spit it out when they’re done. Now that’s kinda crazy to me, but those are the guys who are still dipping at 70+ years old. Old farm boys and ranchers, mostly.
Those pinches were so small that "cheeking" them would just make those pinches fall apart faster. If a pinch is that (unusually) small, then somewhere in the front of the lower lip would hold it together better.

I dipped from age 15 to 23, switched to mostly to cigs/quit off and on, and finally quit tobacco at 31. But never in my life did I think “gutting” tobacco spit was ok. In high school sports in Ohio from 2007/10, like 30-40% of my friends dipped. Only the nastiest of the nasty “gutted” their dip spit. Makes me shudder to think of it to this day. Just DRINKING tobacco spit😳☠️ I always knew dipping was gross, but spitting into a bottle is better than just SWALLOWING the shit. Jesus Christ🙄
moist snuff is a pretty modern thing. its way more processed than chewing tobacco. and most of the manufacturers make sure to keep the knowledge to themselves

@@nickb2208 Honestly if you like Newport menthols I would suggest a Wintergreen or Mint flavor to start off with. Also, pouches are great for inexperienced dippers. I wouldn't recommend a fine cut. Maybe long cut if you don't mind having tobacco go everywhere the first couple of times until you get the hang of it. It is tremendously safer than smoking cigarettes though. If you want to completely reduce your chance of cancer I would recommend trying Snus. Especially Swedish Snus, it's oral tobacco that you won't get cancer from.

That really doesn't happen these days; moist snuff is now no more dangerous than coffee. A lot has changed since the 70s and 80s.
