We are all about that garage gym life and home gym set up!! - Спорт
This gym is perfection, the amount of floor space and room to work you still have available is amazing. Awesome gym!
Thanks!
@@MacStrengthCo Great work here! What are the dimensions of the gym? Trying to build out my home gym, hoping to have a similar set up to yours, but struggling to figure out an appropriate for the plans. Apologies if I missed those details in the video
@@mikedx617x The building is 1500 sq ft but only a 1/3 is used for the gym. So roughly 1000 sq ft should be more than enough for what you need.
@@MacStrengthCo Much appreciated, that is very helpful to know!
Best home gym on the internet.
thanks!
GOALS!!!!! Sheesh so nice
Thanks bro!
Great looking spot. Appreciate how organized everything is.
I had lots to time to plan while I waited 8 months for equipment to come back in stock! lol Must have sketched out the layout 10 times.
Wow, Brandon Campbell, used to watch your videos 'all the time'
@@miket2916 🤘🤘
Dream setup. Congrats!
thanks
Insanely cool gym! Goals one day!
Thank you!! Appreciate it.
Love how your gym came out with the broad selection of equipment & how well you organized everything. Looks like you’re working with just a bit more space than I am, as our gym is about 900 square feet.
Just took delivery of the last major piece of equipment to finally complete our gym with a REP PR-5000 that I’m building tomorrow, but was unfortunately limited to the 80” tall model due to ceiling height restrictions.
Good luck on your gym build. Appreciate the comment and you love the PR 5000. I think the 80” will be just fine.
Beautiful set up
Thank you!
That’s an awesome gym, usually see this size when someone is a CrossFit athlete.
I think your right.
just incredible...!
Thanks!
Amazing gym
thank you!
Fantastic gym build, really enjoyed the video. Just a suggestion about the background music - you may want to tone down the tempo and volume. Found it very distracting when I cannot focus on your commentary. Great job on the vids, fan of your content.
I agree! Im the guy who doesn’t know how to turn on a dsl camera never mind make a UA-cam video. I quickly found out the other channels making similar content have film degrees or teach videography at a university level so I’m the underdog here but working on it! Appreciate the feedback and support.🤙🏼
Wow!!
This is a dream gym
Thanks!
Impressive!
Thank you
Very nice!
thank you!
You built a commercial gym that’s sick
Thanks!
Gotta appreciate the planning and thoughtfulness that went into the build!
Hey thanks. Much appreciated. 👍🏻
K. nice gym, nice video :)
Thank you!
We’re looking for a pegboard to add to our gym and we really like the look of yours and the attachments. Do you mind linking or telling us where you got yours?
I have mostly wall control now. I have a video on it
Great video and beautiful gym. What made you go with the American Barbell plates? Do you notice the smaller diameter of them compared to the larger diameter bumpers?
The American barbell plates are the best plates made in my opinion. Easy to handle, feel great in your hand and last forever. I’m looking into a set of iron plates next to add to our gym. We use the bumper plates for Olympic lifts like deadlifts mostly. Plates are personal preference but any will work.
Nice, a good assortment then. Any particular iron brand you're eyeing?
@@danielsmith6896 I'll wait until next summer before I get into some Iron plates. The top 3 iron plates in my opinion for looks and feel are Strengthco, Rogue Deep Dish and Kabuki. (calibrated is a whole different story)
@@MacStrengthCo I would agree with that statement. I'm most partial to the Strengthco ones myself. Happy lifting and keep up the great videos.
Really interested in the reverse hyper... how did you decide on that one vs others?
The compact size and how it functions. All the BIG ones people always get rid of them.
Thank you! I plan to get @@MacStrengthCo
Definitely one of the best home gyms I’ve seen.
Thanks!👍🏻
Amazing gym! Love the planning that went into this.
Thank you!!
Can you make a video about cost? How you built it etc? The design stuff because it's hard to find this information
Great questions. I need to work that into our video list. Thanks for the support.
Thank you for all the support and subs! We have a whole series of reviews and will start releasing a new video once a week based on what you asked for.
This is phenomenal. No BS gear but really well thought out and something to inspire my eventual disconnected space.
Thanks Daniel. Tried to keep it equipment we use!
Awesome, awesome gym! Glad you finally put this video out, as it's easier to get a good perspective of the size of the gym. I'm envious! You could literally charge membership fees to that place. LOL. The rail system for the bags is genius and I'm going to have to look into that to keep my heavy bag out of the way when not using it. Keep em coming!
Thanks man, we are grateful for how it turned out. I'm going to get into that rail system soon. cheers!
If I can EVER get something close to this for our gym, I would be over the moon! I would never want to leave! Incredible tour and breakdown man. Was looking forward to this for a while! The definition of the home gym goat! The rogue rack and reverse hyper looks like an ABSOLUTE beast! I’ve always wanted to get that echo bike for cardio one day! That fridge is genius!! Get the 97 C4s we got LOL seriously bro, great job man! Watched the entire thing and wanted more.
Gotta lose those C4s! The problem is someone keeps drinking all the drinks from the fridge and not restocking them! I wonder who that could be.. yaaaaa. lol. Cheers bro!
@@MacStrengthCo man all free! I don’t even drink the stuff and smh I wonder 👀👀👀😂😂😂 cheer brotha!
You ever thought of buying preowned commercial gym equipment? Or liquidation pallets? Ive come across 10000lbs of urethane/rubber coated commercial plates and dumbbels for under 50c/lb. Saved me lots of money but it does take time to find the pair for singles😅 Plus no cost of shipping
Absolutely!! You scored a great deal. I wasn’t so lucky in Cali most used gear was selling for more than new prices a year ago. 🤙🏼😂
Not bad for a old man who digs MySpace 😉
You know it. I think it took longer to make the video than build the actual gym!😂
@@MacStrengthCo Keith must be a buddy
@@michaelmalvin8990 ya we were joking about it.
What flooring did you use in your new gym?
Stall mats from tractor supply
really nice gym man, how big is it?
1500 sq ft. cheers!
This gym is based in Northern California?
The organization of everything is so satisfying!
thanks!!
Such a badass gym! And tool section 😭
Thanks bro! More videos coming up detailing tool set up and organization.
Nicely done, I am looking forward to future videos!
Thanks. We appreciate it.
Thats awesome! I would be interested in an in depth of the reverse hyper. Been looking at getting one to help rehab my lower back.
Thanks! That's been a popular request and will be on our list for a in-depth review. We've had our reverse hyper now for awhile so it's a good time to get some real world feedback.
Are gyms authorized in Canada now or is it considered a non-compliance citizen act to have one? Just asking for a friend
I'm in northern California and our gyms never closed but our area is very conservative.
I’m so jealous of this gym . Omg . The space planning is very thoughtful and great video .
Hey thanks! We appreciate it.
Awesome Home Gym brotha! Absolutely love it! Thank you for sharing. Truly inspirational. Question do you have a before and after video on this amazing transformation? 💪💪
Thanks! Working on more youtube content. That's a great idea for a video. I'll see what we can do.
What kind of mats did you get?
Stall mats from tractor supply. Video coming soon on them.
The mat video is up on the channel now. cheers!
Holy shit!
LOL! We get that a lot when people walk in.
Really enjoyed your video. The gym is so tight!! I've got $55K into my 3 bay garage gym and look forward to building a dedicated structure at some point as well. I especially appreciate your tone in your delivery. You come across as just sincere and grateful which is refreshing as so many videos, you can see people either just trying too hard or having an agenda and more. What's your day job?
Thanks Michael. First youtube video and clearly my acting career won't be taking off anytime soon! cheers
DM me on instagram about my day job. cheers brother.
Omg that’s a home gym goal! Amazing!
thank you!
Absolutely awesome!! Wish I had the space that you've got!
Thank you! It was purpose built and works for our needs for sure. cheers!
Amazing gym and great video, you got a subscriber!
I’m definitely curious about your rail system. I am building a new gym and installing some suspension equipment. I’m very curious about the working load as we do aerial arts and could be spinning on an apparatus with 2 people and angular momentum.
Currently editing that video. Stay tuned I’m not a social media guy so this stuff takes me forever. Full time dad.
Can't find those ergo cable grips from Walmart. Do you have a name or sku number.
Search Walmart for "Everyday Essentials 1000-lb"
Awesome!!! you guys killed it. I've known this guy forever..100% solid guy and Family. .Follow this channel for honest technical reviews. He knows his stuff and doesn't do anything Half Assed as you can see!!! Proud of you Man for what you've accomplished so for. Took a ton of work to get here....Great tour. I want to see a review on those Rogue Bars and what a person should buy whos just starting to build their own gym...... if you had to pick. Bumper plates or steel or mix????
Thanks bro! Full buyers guide coming on the Rogue bars soon. 🤙🏼
Love your build. I just put a mini ductless split in my garage gym. Worth every penny, game changer!
Yes.. I thought I wouldn't need it but after a few hot weeks it was on order! We have it on for heat now in the winter and love the mini split!
= 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾💯💯
Definitely one of the best home gyms I’ve seen. It’s killer.
hey thanks brotha!
Why did you guys pick the Titan spotter arms instead of the Rep ones? I’ll be honest, the Titan arms look nicer because they got a “face saver.”
Great question. I’ll be honest and couldn’t wait any longer for a re stock from Rep. the Titan arms are very similar to Rogues and are much stronger designed in my opinion so we choose them.
@@MacStrengthCo Nice! I completely agree with you, those Titan arms look beefier than the ones from Rep.
Awesome! Cant wait for more videos. First time I've see that opposite wall. It is begging for a big mural or something!!
Ya that side has been neglected so far! Needs a two post lift and a 70s muscle car parked there but I may have blown the budget on the gym side! ha ha
So cool, I prefer adjustable dumbbells but really nice job💪🏻
This gym is gorgeous from the outside in!! I don’t think you guys got enough recognition for this one!! Great work, new friend here🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thank you so much! Appreciate that!
Do a review on that nemesis bar!! Been looking at it to switch it up on bench.
It’s in the works!!
Wow, you guys did an awesome job on this gym!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks! That was the video that started the channel. Appreciate it.
That’s a super nice home gym. Those organization skills tho. You’ve got it all my friend. I’m jelly. I’m also looking to get a functional trainer and I see that you have the REP functional trainer.
Yes that REP functional trainer is the buy once and be happy purchase. There's many other functional trainers for less money but they are smaller and narrower with less weight on the stacks. That thing is HEAVY! It's literally never moving so buy the one you like.
Awesome gym and great video! How did you color your Rep banner red for the rack? Was it spray can paint? If so, what brand and model? Thanks.
I'll do a video on that coming up. I go over it on my instagram page if you scroll thru the posts. We painted it.
Great Garage Gym!! AWESOME
thank you
Saw ur gym in instagram . It's a dream come true.❤️ My inspiration to have a future gym. I had to dig you out on UA-cam though.
Thanks bro. We just posted our first video today. Appreciate the love and support. Lot's more to come. cheers!
Was looking forward for this video and the upcoming video for sure.
Love from India ❤️
Incredible gym!
Thank you!
Excellent engineering in space and functional stations. 1 thing you won't be able to stress enough is the time spent every day (and night in bed) thinking of what Tetris moves you have to make for the most floor. High five the wife for being a huge part of making it happen. Looks fantastic.
You know it! It doesn't end either. I think I use my tape measure more than the squat rack! thanks for the support. cheers!
Out of all the home gyms, I literally love yours the most. Especially cause of the mma section with sliding heavy bags
Much appreciated! We built it to match how we trained. Cheers!
Love your setup. Currently building my own gym so I am stealing ideas. What bracket is holding your mace bells?
Those are from LOWES. Just the lowes storage wall rack system. The hooks move along the rail. Once you go there you'll see which ones. There's several brands that are similar.
wow! this is one of the best garage gyms out there. a weight room, mat space with bags, and a tool box set! place is basically perfect!
Hey thanks! It's grown more since this video even. Tons of work to get to this point. Appreciate you checking it out.
That’s a garage gym building! I’m use to seeing garage gym dungeons. This place looks so clean too. Congratulations on your gym.
thanks! We cleaned it up for the tour so cheated a little. lol
Love the channel, making plans to build my own 900 sq/ft garage gym. Any tips looking back you wish you had done? Flooring, lighting, insulation, windows, etc?
Great question and I plan to have series coming soon on build tips. It's been the most asked questions.
I bet it has, you did a great job! I’m subbed so I’m sure I’ll see it when it drops 🤙🏻
I've got 5-6 videos ahead of it but it's on the list! Cheers, Rylan
My ab-5200 is my favorite bench too! The AB-5200 is the best adjustable bench for the money. Better than most commercial incline benches IMO
Yes it is! I have a secret hack coming soon for it. Stay tuned
Can you explain what type of foil insulation you used in between the rafters? Also, the decision to not drywall a ceiling in there? I like the open rafter look. Wondering if it’s very cold...
The foil is and insulation heat reflective barrier and not great for R value. I just ran out of money to finish the ceiling.. Normally those rafters would be insulated with fiberglass and covered. It's 1500 sq ft with 19' ceilings so ya it's not super warm in the winter. Our heater just can't keep up with that much overhead space. I like the open ceilings so probably just leave it. Doesn't get super cold where we're at.
Woah you're making my gym look inadequate. Now I can convince Wynie to let me get more!
I doubt that but thanks man. Pretty sure it took longer to make the video than build the gym! UA-cam=time gone the end. ha ha. Cheers bro
@@MacStrengthCo It's insane how long it takes isn't it? Lmk if you need any help
Found someone with ocd like me with the tools
It's a curse I tell you!
Looking solid. Wish I didn't live in LA. The amount of space I have is about 250sqf. Your space is almost magical.
We lived in a small apartment for years and know exactly what your saying. Appreciate the support! 🤙🏼
Do you plan on reviewing the American Barbell plates? I have been thinking about getting them.
Well I liked them so much I bought more of them. I'm around 1200 lbs now. They are the best plates when It comes to function and quality. Easy to rack and move and high quality that looks great a year later. I will feature them eventually for sure but just swamped lately.
@@MacStrengthCo yeah I'm going back n forth between the ones you have or the rep urethane plates. Seems like there's pro and cons to both options
I have the REP urethane plates also. The rubber is identical on both plates from what I can tell. Other than design they are very similar and would come down to which ones you like the look of better. Slight edge to AB's hand hold design but that's splitting hairs.
looks like they are on sale right now:
repfitness.com/collections/steel-plates/products/urethane-coated-equalizer-plate-sets
@@MacStrengthCo AB are cheaper by a fair margin. For the set I'm looking for its about a $500 difference.
Awesome gym sir! You and your beautiful wife did an outstanding job! God bless you and your beautiful family. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much!
Can you talk through the benefits of having a lat pulldown when you have the functional trainer?
Heavier weight stack, , leg pad to hold you in place and foot pad for seated rows. I think some of it comes down to preference and how strong you are. If you can’t lift your body weight much less benefit for example. Hope that helps! Cheers.🤙🏼
Your gym is so cool i actually thought it was real local gym
What's the Dimension of your gym?
The building is 1500 sq ft
How much would a building like that cost? So awesome!
It varies so much by region it's hard to say. We did a ton of the labour ourselves to save some money. Anywhere between $90-120 a sq ft finished.
Do a breakdown of how much everything cost. Btw best home gym I seen 💪🏽
Thank you! Once I hit 10k subs I'll do a cost breakdown. I'm scared to add it up. ha ha.. cheers!
@@MacStrengthCo Aha yeah i bet, good luck!
We bought all of our dumbbells from different companies, just to try them all out. Like 20s from Everlast, 25's from Rogue, 30s from Titan, etc. Anyway, our 45s are the Rep rubber grips, like seen in this video. And those are the ones that my kids like best. In my personal opinion the Titans are the best.
Once you get your training up to 80lb-120lb range you will like the rubber grips more. So much more compact and easier to handle. The urethane are also nice in the heavier weights. That was a huge part of why I bought them. Cheers!🤙🏼
No shoes on the mats
Truth!! Made an exception to get the video done.
