Howdy. I dig the videos. I’ve had my 883r since December of last year. Have debated the hammer big bore. Honestly I’m good with the power it has(previously came from a vfr800) I know I’m fine with it but still considering the big bore for fun. I’m down in San Diego and was just up that way this past weekend.
Have u made the video of piston slap I rebuilt my 88 and when I ride I can hear something like rattle can in the upper part so I took it apart and see my piston scratch and the cylinder
So the hammer kit failed or was your 883 engine heads just worn? I want to convert mine but the engines got 20k on it. Light miles but idk how well it was cared for before I bought it.
Heads weren't the issue, I blew an oil line months before, damaged cylinders, pistons and who knows what else. If anyone's fault it's Harley's for bending the oil line around the forward controls.
It's whatever the guy bored it and fit pistons to haha. It's still about 1250, just no more hammer parts, but what can ya do? Oh and I was told they were 1200s, but they're stamped 883, so perhaps 883s bored to 1200, then up to 1250? 🤷♂️

Ah very cool! The power jump is definitely nice. The 883 is fine but the passing power at 80mph is zero haha.
@@ZozzerRidez definitely concur on that. I try to avoid freeway as much as possible but sometimes you just need to slab it.
