- This past weekend we took a trip to the Philadelphia card show. This show is ran by the same people as the CSA show in Chantilly which we always seem to enjoy and have success at. So this time we decided to take a trip to the Philly show. On Saturday, we were able to buy tons of cool stuff including my first Rolex, as well as a wide variety of different items! Bought the same Rolex sub this year. Planned on only wearing it for special events. Salesman told me “wear it everyday and enjoy it, they are made to be worn”. Great advice. I’ve really enjoyed mine a lot more because of that. Congrats on the purchase!

I purchased my first Rolex at the age of 40, so congrats! It was my 40th B-day present to myself, to cap off a successful career in finance. I was able to buy mine brand new, a 2016 Rolex Submariner "HulK", I am so glad the lady talked me into that watch as opposed to the regular Black Sub. I paid right at 10k after taxes. Earlier this year the same watch was selling used between 35-40K, it has since settled to around 25k. Still a helluva investment on my end. Jewelery is usually a horrible investment, but with Rolexes, they hold their value and increase over time, almost without fail. You can't go wrong with a Black Sub, I still want one of those too!

airport cheesesteaks are trash, however, the Steak egg, and cheese at Chickie and Pete's in the airport is banging. Also, best cheesesteak in Philly is at Mama's Pizzeria & Cheesesteaks!!

That sub looks just like mine. Mine is probably 15-20 years old as well. Nice watch for sure. I don't wear it often, but it's nice to have when I do.

Great content as always, nice to see diversification of purchases too with the Rolex. Would love to see a spending challenge where you give yourself an hour or two per sport at a show and see which sport is the most profitable/best deals etc. Just a thought!

Facts!
When you buy cards at shows with the intent to resell do you get receipts? I never see in the videos you grabbing receipts just walking away with the cards. I was curious how that worked?
We keep track of money spent, but don’t need a physical receipt per say
as a fan of yours out here in Utah that was cool to hear you say "go Utes" and your welcome for beating USC

I would never buy a watch at a card show without proper authentication, like a box, warranty card, etc. - wayyy to many fakes out there. Hope you got a real one!
Genuine curiosity here - you say you don't wear watches, you appear to not know much about them other than the name - what pushed you to drop 10k on a used watch at a card show? Was this to keep or are you thinking of resale opportunity?

It's a card show not a steak-house in the Viagra Triangle. And advertising you have money (or are posing) doesn't help you if someone decides to follow you out of the card show... best to play it safe. But I am sure the fanboys disagree

Damn this should be a video on how NOT to buy a 10,000 watch, always have a professional review and authenticate, open up the case review the movement make sure it has all original parts, some people will get a Rolex and replace the genuine parts with aftermarket parts, sell the authentic parts and then go sell the watch as original also if this is a 2005 model the current market price for these are around 8000-8500

Ummm most of us in the watch game don't buy from ADs... we do if you have a hook at retail... but all of us buy on the grey market...

Even if it is real, you way over paid bud. Watches are crashing just like card prices.
We talked to a few watch dealers before we bought it & paid pretty close to market. Could change but no different than cards. Risk we were willing to take 🤷🏼♂️
