I bought a 15.2h green OTTB for $500. So yeah, if you're poor then you better be a good trainer 😂 But if you do get a horse for a cheaper price expect to end up slowly paying the same amount ($2000) in other bills like farrier work, special feeds, chiropractic work, etc. as it would cost for a good horse.
Hey guys :) recently I've begun to watch your vids again (I was away from youtube for a while bc of work...), and I did think of getting back to riding (I've had ridden for 10years, than I've been on a "recess" for the last 2yrs...), I miss riding so much, but I haven't got the confidence and couldn't made the decision :( but what I really wanna say, that you motivated me soooo much, I did go to a riding school and start riding soon :))) I am really happy and you really helped me achieving it! Totally agree when it comes to having to have a connection!! I tried out sooo many absolutely perfect horses but none of them were for me, I ended up buying a super spunky green broke mare and her and I fit together so well. She wasn't the best horse when it came to her training and attitude but she was the best horse for me.

My pony is 28 he is an Arab x Welsh so he is lively but totally bomb proof and experienced. He is very good for his age and can still jump and do everything just like a young horse but I am retiring him now but I am getting a horse who just turned 6 so good luck to me! 😆😬😂 She is great for her age tho
Could you maybe do a video of exercises for equestrians (that they could do at home not in the saddle) because there aren't very many good workout videos out there that are for equestrians!! Also, love the video!! 💗

I'm getting a new horse in April and I'm super excited!!! My mum is pretty much my trainer cause she teaches me but I won't be showing I will just ride my horse to a near by place where there is schooling and cross country courses
This helps a lot because on Thursday I'm testing out a horse that my trainer might buy and if we get this horse I would be the main person that rides and shows him.
Hey so I have a tip for buying your horse and if your scared the horse you want is drugged what I would do is try the horse on a schedule day then randomly show up the next week or month or whenever BUT NOT THE NEXT DAY OR SAME WEEK! And watch the owner of the horse and see how they act and if you see them do something to the horse! :) hope this helps

I started working at barns in exchange for lessons at the age of 11.... I'm now 32 and own 2 horses. Great ideas and comments ladies! The purchase price of the horse is the cheapest lol my $750 OTTB has cost way more in medical bills than anything haha!
Unfortunately where I live, most of the barns are 40 minutes away or more. :( One of the reasons my parents say they're not sure if they want to let me lease is because the entire thing (car, tack up, ride, cool down, car) is around 4+ hours and they don't want to leave my brother home alone for that long. :/ Lease prices are also more expensive here, $500 a month for a half-lease, which includes one group lesson and two individual rides.

I bought a horse at an auction because my first horse was lonely. We got her for 350$ and got so lucky. She's a paint but loves jumping and wants to learn. She's 4 and I want to do cross country in the future
Not trying to be rude but I definitely think that you can get a nice horse for a lot less. I have spent little to nothing on all my horses, and multiple of them have turned out to be great show winning horses.

i have no barns near me but my grandfather has owned plenty horses he owns race horses he has a trainer he lives on a farm so do u think thats good? i was just gonna get a horse to go on trail rides around his farm and just ride around im 12 so what year and breed do you think i live in australia
You ask your horse for a trot, and simply stand up in your stirrups every time the outside leg goes forward. You can practice rising in a walk, then in a trot. In my opinion, you should get a trainer to teach you, not a video, but it's really easy once you get the hang of it.
If you think you'd be able to handle it while studying at college, I'd say go for it! But it is a lot of work, so it just depends on how much time you have and what your work load is.
Agree with everything but lots of horses are diamonds in the rough. Some just take more time and effort❤I know lots of horses that were cheaper and can show A rated shows😂😂

It typically isn't recommended to just randomly show up, just out of politeness! Also, some people try horses that are not close to their house :)

That sounds awesome! For trail riding you'd probably want an older, calm horse.
