    Hi guys. I was wondering if ye would have any tips on how to get back to riding due to fear after an injury. A couple of months ago I was riding my usual school horse and we were doing jumps, we were meant to trot over the jumps but when we did the jump my horse jerked into canter and suddenly stopped and I got thrown forward but lost my stirrup then he cantered again and I fell. I injured my lower back but have recovered now but I'm afraid to canter, gallop or jump. I know this is a REALLY LOONNNGGGG comment but if you guys could read it and reply with some tips I would REALLY appreciate it!!!! 😘😘😘

    • @laylalocke2170
      @laylalocke2170 7 років тому

      I would take my time , do basic school work , short hacks, grooming, things like that . You could start by working on trot then once you feel ready, into canter . Just remember that if you have never fallen of a horse then your not a true equestrian! Take your time and enjoy!

    • @caitlinmae7492
      @caitlinmae7492 7 років тому

      asking your trainer to lunge the horse is a great way to get back into it without being so nervous, you can get into the rhythm of the canter without being worried about being in control AND falling off, once you have done that a few times, try to do it on your own, even if its just for a few strides, slowly work your way up, and remember your horse is a reflection of you so if you are nervous he will be too, take time and remember, that you can do it!! hope this helps

      sarah o connell my suggestion would be to start slow and be careful something else that might help would be to watch the equestrian prep how to be confident video hope this help be careful

      @sarahoconnell103 7 років тому

      Thank you guys so much for you help, tips and support. When I get back to riding I will try these. I may also ask to change my school horse as he never listens and likes to do what he wants and I am not the most experienced rider and do not feel comfortable on him. P.S. Thanks again😘

    • @novaxae
      @novaxae 7 років тому

      Sarah O Connell hey same with me but I fell on my ear/arm and I started riding months after that. What I did I started by just walking then I trotted some and I got my confidence back

    If you clip her legs up to the hock and the knee her scratches will go away in a few days... if you don't want to clip her legs, then scrub her legs with antibacterial soap and rub some MTG on her scratches daily and you will be able to like "peel" them off.
