What a Beauty! I keep seeing videos of people cutting Mintabie opals that have beautiful looking bars from the side, but they just don't face. Yours is a great surprise. It's really nice to see that for a change.
What an absolute beauty of a stone! Both sides are magnificent. Must have been such a joy to discover the ancient mystery after the couple years of it sitting in the collection. What a ride. I'm digging your channel, bud. There's quite a few good opal channels these days. But you all have a different approach, style, and delivery. Awesome
Thank you for your feedback. Regarding the blade, it may depend on the shaft diameter of your tile saw because some blades have smaller centres that may not fit. Personally I don't like to bush blades but sometimes we have no choice. That being said, I do most of my fine work on 5"x 0.012" blade and my roughing on a 6"x 0.020" blade. Of course this is only a guide because there are finer blades and thicker blades, you just need to find the right combination for your saw, and for the type of material you are cutting. Hope this has helped.
Thanks for your feedback. We have some rough for beginners in our ebay store if you are interested. www.ebay.com.au/itm/145010580750 www.ebay.com.au/itm/144843740904 We need to list up some more.
Thank you for your question. Shellac is used for polishing furniture. It is dissolved in alcohol and painted onto the surface. I like to use it for dopping.

So as seen in the video..its like gold flakes in that jar and u just get them on the dopstick and heat it with the flame ..?
@@V27RV Yes, heat the dop stick first. This will help start the process of building up a workable amount to dop with.
Thank you so much for your knowledge and guidance🙌🏽
