This is the most refreshing, clear vision of a solution that supports all human rights and equality that I've heard yet. ❤

Peter Beinart is great! Great guest & great questions! I am not Jewish & Peter doesn’t talk much about Judaism. Yet I love the Jewishness that he, & others like him, describe. The principles of “never again for anyone”, & of helping your neighbors & those less fortunate, just to name a few. Those are the types of people I’d want around me & the sentiments which we need more of as a species. Take it from me, Peter is absolutely right when he said that the Jews who are out protesting against this war, are doing more to fight anti-semitism, than anyone or anything else.

One of the best discussions I’ve seen on this horrific topic. Thank you all 💛

As a Palestinian listening to this discussion, I am encouraged that it is taken place among the Jewish community. I do believe that a one state solution is the only just and practical solution. Having said that, a temporary two states with the vision of one state down the road is not a bad idea.
That could be achieved by keeping most if not all the settlements in the west bank and the return of atleast an equivalent number of Palestinians to their land inside the green line. And If we can have an open border between the two states to encourage integration of the two communities. If this happens I don't see why can't we have a prosperous and peaceful state in palestine but also democratic ans prosperous Middle East.

I agree with Mr Beinart in all his views !
The fact that foreign journalists are not present in Gaza and the fact that the entire American media is relying on Israelis says it all ! One side and one side only !

American media almost entirely relies on palestinians. What are you talking about?

Appatently, Israeli media has been more truthful and and less slavish to propaganda than American media on Gaza and Palestine.

I think the idea of a single state with equality under the law is the only feasible solution… Separate states is only going to lead to situations like Israel has with all of their neighbors. and if we promote democracy, what currently exists in Palestine is not a democracy… The idea of everyone being equal under the law is what protects the Jews here, that’s what protects blacks and gays here, it is a basic cornerstone that existed prior to the European Jews, coming over and trying to buy up all of the land andcreate a exclusively Jewish state.

One note on the discussion of anti semitism and that is ignoring how Zionists themselves can be antisemitic.

Regarding returning Palestinians please see the work of Palestinian scholar Salman Abu Sitta. He founded the Palestine Land Society, which has done massive groundbreaking research on the very real feasibility of Palestinian return.

You guys should move to Jaffa or at least to Israel, before wanting to call for palestinians in the state of Israel . There had been period of “palestinians in the state of Israel since 1948 did it work out to you satisfaction? Also how South Africa turned out, after “no apartheid”?

    • @SuperKripke

When you find yourself reminiscing about the good old days of apartheid, it's time to turn off the internet and go out and touch some grass.

There was no actual "truth and reconciliation" for the land theft and impoverishment encted by Jews in Palestine.. that needs actual $$$$$ compensation. Permitting people to live around you is just a load of nasty fake goodness.

Peter actually spoke my thoughts here. I have said that Palestinians should drop the Palestinian State struggle. Re-strategize and launch a Civil Rights Movement. Christians and Muslims in West Bank and Gaza should be given Civil Rights

    • @kathismatastic
      @kathismatastic 6 місяців тому

Unfortunately, the imitation of the American Civil Rights nonviolent tactics failed when the IDF massacred Palestinian marchers. How do you deal with a whole mass of people who want to wipe you out, and who have all the power and control the narrative?

    • @deanmcinerney2324

That needs lots of shekels in compensation doesnt it?.. eg. the current market value of the land.

This is not rare. There are plenty of people to follow who articulate and have put their lives on the line for these positions. Please look up Gershon Baskin, Standing Together, and listen to Ezra Klein's podcast...

@@jannadav1604Ezra Klein does not care one bit about the Palestinians. He believes in Jewish supremacy, which is racist.
