Just bought one. If you really want to launch using the clutch all you have to do while stopped is pull in the clutch lever and it will switch back to manual mode until you don't touch the clutch lever for about 5 seconds, then it will switch back to e-clutch mode. If you are say on the track at higher rpm in e-clutch mode and you instinctively grab the clutch it will shift then go right back to e clutch mode in one second after you leave the lever alone. Genious actually...
@@MCCJustMotos The bike overall feels great but outright engine power wasn't that impressive...I mean my 2004 zx636 would stomp it lol. But, it has enough to get the job done. Might go full Akro system but am leery of flashing the ecu because it might alter how it communicates with the e-clutch, so a wait and see approach there...

semi-autos are so common in south east asia that im surprised westerners get surprised by it. (im well aware eclutch is not the same as the existing semi-auto transmissions)
Big problem with this bike is if you turn off the e clutch you also loose the quick shifter. Meaning the e clutch cant be disengaged without also disable it the quick shifter.

Well..Aprilla probably will feel more sporty. Honda will sound amazing, be super comfy, be very reliable and lots of dealers, and has e-clutch which is super super technology. You won’t go wrong with either.
I am with ya on the color options. And here is the thing…it’s not like I don’t like the rwb, it’s just that another option or two would make each version even more special.
I actually had to ride it a few times..it took me some to to really think about it and I really did like it. The fact that there really was a very small learning curve and you could just shut the system off and ride like a regular 6-speed sealed the deal and made it a really positive experience and bike.
The gear changes are not very smooth. I find this bike pulls really well and the gear changes are so smooth when manually using the clutch. There's a bit of play in the throttle which I've found on the 2 bikes I've had. Just a case of getting used to it. Can't fault this bike for the price point. Compared to the Triumph 660, the build quality is much better. Great for long rides and if you are gentle with the throttle, not too bad on fuel
@@rwalton159 Very interesting thoughts. You are right in the abruptness in eclutch shifting. I like the firmness of the shifts and felt to nice, but for sure not as smooth as a manual clutch shifting. The low speed throttle mapping was snatchy in first gear to me.
This will be a must have by next year, for people like me who are starting that would be great to prevent stalls

It looks you didn't like the bike for what the video shows. Maybe Honda should offer the automatic and a regular 6 speed one like the Revel.
