The prediction might not be right but if it is then yeah
1:48 - “Solitary as an Oyster”
7:31 - “I wear the chain I forged in life”
15:06 - “The smooth white sheet of snow upon the roofs… dirtier snow upon the ground”
19:51 - “Boy is Ignorance. Girl is want”
25:43 - “I will not shut out the lessons that they teach”
28:32 - “If the course be departed from, the ends will change”
31:39 - “The cold within him froze his old features”
38:01 - “Good friend, as good a master, and as good a man”
41:42 - “Another idol has displaced me”
45:40 - “Mrs cratchit made the gravy hissing hot, master Peter mashed the potatoes with incredible vigour Miss Brenda sweetened up the apple sauce
Are these the only quotes i need for christmas carol
@@georgegulliford9300 In my opinion I’d say learn maybe a couple more not to deeply analyse tho like for example the second quote : “I wear the chain I forged in life” u should also remember “I made it link by link and yard by yard” to evaluate on it in ur exams. Or also remember “external heat or cold had little to no influence on Scrooge” and “hard and sharp as flint” these three are easy to remember and thier very good as well.

sir can you make this type of video on macbeth? these analysis were perfect and can fit for any questions, and everyone would benefit from it. thanks.
he already has
its a combo vid with mr salles its soo good
Can you juxtapose the quote “good a friend, as good a master, and as good a man.” With the quote “his sole administrator, his sole assign, his sole residuary legatee, his sole friend and sole mourner.” because of the idea of isolation and misanthropy?
omg that's amazing
is the good friend one about bob cratchitt?

tbh i think quotes from later in the play are more useful i know 15 quotes from the first three pages just because the beginning is easy to remember
Can you post predictions for the WJEC gcse english exams this year? Please ur a lifesaver
Just wondering, you mentioned Sigmund Freud in the second quotation. But it says that Freud was born in 1856, which was after A Christmas Carol was published. Not sure how applicable that context is?
u can use it for any texts - for modern context
U can use it for even Shakespeare and he was from 1500s
@@reoqq3842 late 1500s around 1580s
thank you for this video, could you please do one for blood brothers? Your macbeth and prior christmas carol video helped me so much!!! the only book im struggling with is blood bro and it would be so useful if u post a video similiar to this for it

help i’ve never read christmas carol and i need to learn in 30 mins for tmr
One key element EVERY year 11 student taking gcses should know. You DO NOT need to remember the quote word for word. As long as it is similar and creates a similar idea(my teacher told me so trust me). An example from Macbeth he gave us: 'Partner in greatness' and 'Greatest partner' are 2 similar ways to erite the quote. Idk the original, but it will still work and count as the REFERENCE part of your paragraphs. You're welcome, good luck! I am also taking gcses in year 11 rn:)
It depends. If you miss one small word then you might not be marked down but if it’s quite a difference then it might be affected.
For example if there was a quote that was like “i released a song bird from its cage” (which is from poppies) and you write “i have released a bird from its cage” it may be marked down a bit from there being a difference. You will get marks for linking the quote if it’s not the same but you will get more marks for the exact quote. Hence why many people use short and simple and effective quotes
@@averagefelixlover2507 yes + you may interpret it wrong and do the wrong analysis
coukd you also do one for macbeth please
he did one recently
this guy is going to carry my English GCSE

NAH Y0UR SO LUCKY YOU DO THAT EASIEST TEXT EVER THAT EXISTS IN HISTORY I flippin do a christmas carol Macbeth and An Inspector Calls and the last one is difficult as hell
how do i use freud id in anslysis like how do i include it
I think its better for context, correct me if I'm wrong
lemme cooooook. So basically "Solitary as an oyster" is a quote to foreshadow Scrooge's redemption and foreground his misanthropic nature

can you do predictions for macbeth, an inspector calls and christmas carol?
How would you use Freud id in a sentence for lady macbeth or scrooge??
just as any other context g say sm like 'the ideas about the human psychoanalysis explored, by Sigmund Freud, is seen through the 'id' which resonates with the characters of lady macbeth/scrooge' and js talk about whatever u wanna talk about
@@randomacc77777 icel that is beautifully written am def stealing that
Any chance you could make a video for key quotes for Romeo and Juliet in this style. This is the only key quote video that has actually helped me. Great video👌
i love that oyster quote
thank you very much sir, this video helped me and it also made me laugh at certain points.
19:44 sir could u argue that when the snow on the roof melts no one cares . however when the dirteir snow on the ground melts and everyone is sad that they cant play in the snow anymore.... and this links to the social class. ie scrroge . no one will care when scrooge dies however people will care when people like the cracthit family and tiny tim dies. because they were good people. and scrooge will be remebered as no one but a mean old man with to much money
ik im not MEE but as a rule of thumb with english, aslong as you can provide some form of evidence everything is correct due to how insanely subjective english is. Good luck with your exam tomorrow fella!
I felt that the word departed suggested a conscious decision to leave something behind, rather than going accidentally off track. Good luck to everyone with their exam tomorrow 🙂

sir would you do the same for macbeth or inspector calls?
Late night revision
sigmunds freuds id theory and so on were created a decent amount of time after dickens had not only wrote a Christmas carol but died too, so how can you say that he was referencing that theory and that they link?
when you said about the "Gothic genre" is this for the question about structure?

At least we aren’t ’solitary as an oyster’ in our cramming
Very informative
Sir can you please make a detailed love and relashionships poem pleasee!! :)
Predictions ??
this video helped me. thanks.
Can i ask, do you use each quote for a whole essay or just a paragraph. as some quotes are so in depth and detailed that I could just make a whole essay on one of them but that feels significantly less and i feel like the essay needs a bunch of quotes. please let me know guys. thx
Bit late but isn’t it at least 1 per paragraph?
@@choudhurys68 it’s so much more but like what’s the structure of the essay. If you just talk about one quote from this video will you still get good marks or do you need a variety
does it help for GCSE /
Good luck everyone
Are you sure we can talk of Freud:ID because my teacher has never mentioned it once
Hi sir, I am doing eduqas are there Any tips for me?
thx but what if the question's about smth like family or Fred??
For family, use quote 10 (46:50)and then use any of the others and just say how it illustrates Scrooge’s inability to have a kind and caring personality. You can also say the reason he is so cold is because of his childhood.
@@HeidiHolmess alright ty!!
