I have a vinyl album of country songs written by Audie, it is the only vinyl album that I kept when I converted over to CD"s, it is a memento of Audie, I will keep........I had never known this particular side of Audie's musical talent, It's too bad this has never been publishied, even in his biography" and his autobiography, his musical talents have never been brought to the fore, it's a shame.

Audie was such an honorable man, he never defended himself when it came to his second marriage and the real reason behind his infidelities.
The public scrutiny he endured for years while most, if not all, blame should have been put on Pam. She treated him terribly and did some horrible things after his death. It really says something when her own son Terry said, "Dad deserved another purple heart for staying married to my mother" Newly released book, "Audie Murphy Undercover."
To think the public has been duped all these years thinking Audie was to blame for much of it.

I love Audie and especially this beautiful piece of music, it belongs with all he other classicals. I'm going to try to find the sheet music to it and let one of my piano students play it at our recital. My grandfather was in WWII and was hurt in combat, he just missed Audie when he left. Audie, we all love you, I wish you were still with us.

As I play this exquisite music " Austria by Moonlight " by Audie Murphy again tonight I have a tingling that is running clear through my body from the souls of my feet to the top of my head....
This is something so extremely exquisite and soul touchingly beautiful from an exceptional man with such soul felt feelings,
a very humble man with just a fifth grade education who went on to further educate himself by reading everything he could
lay his hands on for the rest of his life, a promise he made to his Mother and never forgot....
Audie was a very poetic, peaceful and a deeply passionate man which coming from his early childhood and all through his adult life, all of which shows the true nature of the extremely brave man that he was, a real soldier of the bravest kind, also the most highly decorated soldier in history....
Audie hated being called a hero, he stated that the real true "HERO" of the war was each one of those who died and were buried over there in Europe, he never got over what war had done to mankind, displaced people, orphaned children, dead friends....
Nor could he over come those horrific things that he witnessed and having to kill another human being, it took it's toll on his life.
When Audie spoke publicly he was an elequent speaker who was clear and concise on his subject matter and always managed to capture his audience's interest with his total passion no the subject matter on which he spoke....
I will never forget this wonderful humble human being who did indeed do extremely heroic deeds in WWll who fought for his
country to keep not only America free but the entire world.... AUDIE IS STILL MY HERO, LOVED & MISSED, HONOURED STILL...
While we continue to remember the late and great Audie Leon Murphy he will continue to live on, also all the other soldiers from
    all other wars too.....
" LEST WE FORGET " THESE WONDERFUL PEOPLE ARE TRULY GREAT HEROS WE MUST LOOK UP TO AND CONTINUE RESPECTING AND HONOURING THEM AS THEY DID THEIR DUTY TO KEEP US ALL FREE.
REST IN ETERNAL PEACE AUDIE LEON MURPHY YOU DID YOUR DUTY AND COUNTRY PROUD WITH HONOUR.

At what point in his life did Audie Murphy ever have the opportunity to study music?
Did he play instruments "by ear", or sing a capello, or get someone else to notate on manuscript paper as he hummed a melody?
I just wonder, because I also compose and perform original songs, both lyrics and melody, even though I can't read or write music.
I just wonder how Audie Murphy did it?
By the way, Audie Murphy and I share a common bond.
Each of us was turned down by the Marine Corps, and then joined the Army.
    Neat, huh?

    • @AudieMurphyAmericanLegend
      @AudieMurphyAmericanLegend  9 років тому +5

John Robert Mallernee Robert, Murphy never took a music lesson in his life. Most of the Murphy family are able to play instruments, sing, etc. Audie was one who was able to write and compose music but never was much at singing. It was just pure natural ability and almost 80 scores to his credit. What is more interesting is that none were of the same genre. Some were country, some Mexican style music, some ballads, some such as this one and some patriotic but all very well done. Thanks for your interest in Audie Murphy and your question.

Very doubtful Audie composed and arranged this tune. He couldn't read music. He wrote lyrics with Scotty Turner (my friend) who wrote most of the music you hear that is attributed to Audie. I hate to burst a bubble, but I'm curious about who claims to own this copyright since I know all the songs Audie wrote were copyrighted by Scott Turner.

      Audie Murphy American Legend
Your true statement was said word for word, during a conversation this week, asking, could Americans Vets in late 1945, after defeating the Axis, many injured, losing friends, could they ever believe then, of the condition America would find herself, in the distant future of 2014(?).
