    I’m so planning to move here after I graduate law school I’ll be pretty far from my hometown but okotoks has the same vibe as my hometown I love it! And it’s next to Calgary where my job will be!

    We just move to Okotoks in June. We love it. Very family oriented. Lots of community events.

    As a 50 year resident, I can say there are far to many “cityits” here now. Plus town council is clueless. There was 2 hockey rinks when the town was 5000 people, now there is over 40,000 and we have 3 rinks. Great planning town council. The speed limit is 40 km/hr everywhere in town and there are a stupid amount of bylaw police sole purpose is to write tickets.
    During the last car show their were 4 bylaw officers writing parking tickets at the Rec Center on a Saturday. Why!!
    Read the stats on how many cars are stolen in Okotoks. It’s ridiculous! Because Okotoks is so close to Calgary most of the RCMP do not live in town, so there is no sense of community policing that we had when I was young growing up in town.
    Don’t try and start a business or build a commercial building in town, the red tape will drive you crazy.
    It’s still a great town, but it used to be a whole lot better!!

    How is it like for retirement age folks called seniors over 60? Looks more liveable than even Airdrie without rhe Los Angeles traffic jams.

      Town council has been debating it for years. I vaguely heard of a plan to pipe water from Calgary, either from their water system or directly from the Bow River but that was a while ago. nothing further. The Town has consistently opposed further withdrawls from the Sheep..ie Mike Holmes support for a subdivision south of town. Have you checked out the flows in the Sheep River lately?

    • @bobelliott2748
      @bobelliott2748 Рік тому

      Water restrictions are the norm for High River through all the towns south. The Village of Cowley is out of water

    Wanna know which province is the safest in Canada 🤔

    • @teekbooy4467
      @teekbooy4467 2 роки тому +4

      Look at the city not the province. Canadas provinces are country size

    • @ChamberlainGroup
      @ChamberlainGroup  2 роки тому +2

      Yes… you have to look at the cities or towns individually.

  • @lifeintheworld7074

    Disagree. I know Okotoks and is getting awful, really awful, with very high property taxes, with houses built very poorly, the quality is not representing the prices that you pay for a home, is no longer a town, but growing and getting too busy, the streets are getting backed off and hard to get home sooner, not very nice either people, so definitely Okotoks is no longer the town that used to be 6-7 years ago.

      That’s too bad you’re experiencing this. As areas grow they do change. Thank you for the comments!
