Yeah, how do you think he qualified to become a cop? They're not hired for their intelligence, and certainly not good looks. I mean if they could be trained they probably would have at least qualified as infantry.
He extended the length of the traffic stop trying to find something to ticket him for. This, in and of itself is a violation of his rights and has been ruled on in the courts.
They need to start taking any damages directly out of the police union’s retirement fund. Do it enough times they will start self policing and hopefully holding each other accountable for crossing that line.
That kind of stuff will never till the training facility trains them about civil and constitutional rights of civilians. But some officers just don't give a shit even when properly trained.
At least he tried to get the first officer to stop what he was doing. The 2nd officer should not get in trouble for trying his best to say the first officer is wrong in his own words the best he can.

This “officer safety” argument is nothing more than a loophole allowing officers with malicious intent to violate constitutional rights, and provides opportunity to use excessive force. If officer safety is a concern, then stay home, get a desk job, or become a beautician (which by the way requires more training than is required to become a cop). I have NEVER seen or heard of a firefighter refusing to enter a burning building due to firefighter safety concerns. They risk life and limb daily to serve their community and save lives, while cops harass, intimidate, bully, and abuse innocent civilians to satisfy their oversized egos. This is why communities love firefighters and have unfavorable feelings toward cops.

I’m a retired cop. I only had 18 years on. Weaving within your lane can be an ELEMENT of intoxicated driving. Alone I know of no citable offense so the tyrant likely did not have enough reasonable suspicion to affect the stop. Always demand a supervisor. If the supervisor shows up and continues the unlawful stop, it exposes further the deep pockets of the department indicating systemic problem. The department and public expect the cop to keep his cool. This cop almost lost it. The senior cop was being too easy on the tyrant cop. He was doing a disservice to everyone and should have been held to account. Remember the phrase ASKED AND ANSWERED when the cop repeatedly asks you a question and you answer with something he doesn’t want to hear. Remember a jury will see your words and conduct too. If you incite the cop, it could lesson your awarded damages. Same goes for his chain of command. If they think, damn, I’d get mad too, then they are more likely to sympathize with the tyrant and let him off easy and be more willing to let the lawyers battle it out. He bragged on the video he had 12 years on. It appears to be a small town and it appears he has limited “street survival” police training because as soon as you realize your SH1t is weak, you terminate the contact. A senior cop did me that favor once. I didn’t thank the senior cop although I was immensely grateful, I realized he did me a solid DOING HIS JOB and making sure I didn’t have a proverbial train wreck. Hopefully, this tyrant learned how to avoid embarrassing contacts like this in the future. For me? It took good progressive training coupled with on the job experience. I learned. Not as quick as some unfortunately. I had to take a few lumps.
The talk between the officers was CLEAR that they knew him filming was LEGAL in that state. They then conspired to find a way to violate the rights they knew existed. While discussion of possible KNOWN laws violated by the suspect is in fact an investigatory act, the belief that a civil right does not exist is in itself a violation of that civil right. Either it exists, or it does not. This is about 18 USC 241 and 18 USC 242. Both are federal felonies committed by government agents. BTW, turning off a cell phone which is recording is called SPOLIATION of evidence. This is in itself enough to prove any case against the officer. Also, the officer demanded that the suspect move to him, well. under 6 feet from him early on in the interaction. This was an attempt to bring him within range of easy attack and or to allow him to create a false claim against him. Later he tells the same suspect that. coming closer than 10 feet will be considered an attack on the officer. Then the officer reached into the truck and examines the camera....unlawful search clearly defined by SCOTUS. Place me on the JURY, I would award 1 million against the officer that made the stop and I would award 500K against the accompanying officer for not arresting and or stopping the first officer outright. This is exactly why there should be NO qualified immunity where a civil right was violated. It also proves that all violations of civil rights by any government employee should be paid through the retirement funds of all employees of that class.
How can a male cop even say “officer safety” without being so embarrassed?? He’s the one that’s supposed to throw himself in danger for others not be worried about his own ass!

How does the person being harassed stand 25 feet from the scene when the Blue Lying Thugs Gang force him to stand next to their car? The idea that the citizen being harassed can't video the activity of the cops is absurd. It is typical that the stoopid cop has to google the law to find something to charge the driver with and simultaneously telling the other cop that he was taught to violate the mans rights by the previous nest of thugs he worked with.
Every attempt to get a statute passed against filming cops that I can remember has included an exemption for the person(s) involved in the interaction, anyways.

They need to start taking any damages directly out of the police union’s retirement fund. Do it enough times they will start self policing and hopefully holding each other accountable for crossing that line.

That douche is a serial offender, pulling people over to ID and fish.

Officer Safety: The worst weapon you can pull on an officer is a camera/cell phone. If they are threatened by a man standing in front of the squad car, armed with a phone, they are in the wrong line of work.
Thank God an acorn didn't fall on top of the car during this incident.

Officer safety is a joke of a justification anyway. Cops aren't even in the top 10 dangerous jobs.

How does the person being harassed stand 25 feet from the scene when the Blue Lying Thugs Gang force him to stand next to their car?
The idea that the citizen being harassed can't video the activity of the cops is absurd.
