Zhigrana is a suspense thriller that revolves around the lives of 7 people who works in a local NGO. They are sent for a mission to a very remote place called Rukku but instead ends up in a village called Zhigrana. Members of the team are killed one by one. With a killer on the loose team leader Christine has to find out who is behind all this and WHY ??

I found this movie while planning a Nepal trip. Pretty cool. I enjoyed the story and twist. Didn't see that end coming. Well done. As for my future Nepal visit, I'm looking forward to the profound natural beauty, delicious foods, and not meeting Christine.

I did liked the picture quality, direction and the acting. But there are so many uncessary plots that could be taken out to make movie short and sweet. However, I never expected a Nepali movie like this which is based on psychlogy of a person.

If you havent watched the movie
Positives: Decent acting, good plot, first of a kind in the Nepali movie industry (as far as i know)
Negatives: Cant think of any without giving out spoilers.
If you have watched the Movie
Positives: Decent acting. the beginning was brilliant. The scene with Christie hooking Maya's chin and dragging her was truly badass.
Negatives: they rushed the ending, I mean more gore and blood definitely required. No exploration into the Kaal panchami story line. At no point do we think that maybe its the ghost. the suspect moves from Ram then to baje then to christie (after she kills baje) The first half was great but it just fizzled out after the first death. Just a couple of steps away from being a masterpiece.
Never seen like this nepali thriller movie.good jb

ya i was thinking the same when it was like the kid was the murderer as in the movie identity but somehow i knew from the beginning that christine was the one. ya the acting of christine was kinda poor but her looks was innocent as required by the script.

Really great movie, felt some of the scenes were unnecessary, could have streamlined the editing and pacing. but that's just me. At 1:06:13, was it an intentional lack of audio or is the audio missing?? got really confused.
In most Nepali movies, The dialogues are what pulls me out of the experience of how unnatural they sound. here the dialogues feel natural and genuine. The performances were really great and to think that some of these were debut performances.Props to all the actors, director and writer.
I do wish to see other projects from this team. Something like a full horror, something little Lovecraftian, I think writer/director Pasang Lama can achieve this. And the scene 28:49-29:49 absolutely brilliantly executed.

So, I see a lot of criticism here. Let's not forget that most of the movies - be it from Hollywood , dhoti Bollywood or the Korean Hallyu - they're more or less inspired by one from across the continent. We'd not be an exception. For instance, let's talk about one of the most famous K-dramas Boys Before Flower. It's not a movie but serves as an excellent example of a "copied" piece that not only propelled its cast to international stardom, but also proved that "copies" can be just as good as well provided it's done with a fine craftsmanship. The original concept was borrowed from a Japanese manga which in turn has a J-drama Hana Yori Dango. And there's that Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan an Indian version of Boys Before Flowers - it'd be weird if we didn't hear Bollywood copying (from) another, followed by Taiwan with Meteor Garden. All a copy of the original Japanese version. Despite that, it didn't ruin the originality, and each went on to become a cult on their own. Now, returning to this movie, I don't know if it's a remake or a copy from another but credit should be given where credible. The cast did a fine job playing out their roles. Unlike the cheesy dialogues seen in Nepali movies of the yesteryear, it's fairly well and bearable these days. And instead of always pessimistically viewing our cinema, let's learn to appreciate their hard work and effort. You'd be surprised how even a Hollywood fanatic can get to watch these movies comfortably without moaning.
